Jul 29, 2009I have 1 admin acct and 4 std users. I am using OUtlook 2007, the tried Thunderbird with same results. First time I log on to a user email works OK. If I log off that user acct and log on to another, I get a send /receive error (0x800CCCF). If I log of that acct and log back in, that works, but same process has to be repeated when swithing to any other user account. Using Norton, but same error whether that is turned on or off. Also doesnt matter if Parental controls on or off same issue.

Mar 23, 2008I need to do the instructions below for an error I am getting on updating. however, when I type CMD in search box I don't get any options to run as administrator and if i just type the command it states I have to be the admnistrator - how do I get around this..I am infact the only account user on my lap top, and performall tasks so why does it think I am not the administrator?

2.In the command prompt window, type fsutil resource setautoreset true C: (This assumes that C: is the drive in which Windows Vista is installed. If Windows is installed on another drive, change the drive letter accordingly.)
3.Restart your computer.
4.Download and install the update again.

Mar 23, 2008I have 4 computers, all have Windows XP. I recently replaced the 1st which was my Laptop with a Dell XPS that runs Vista. Since then my email accounts started having problems. I can only receive email on one account. but was able to receive all email accounts one the main Desktop which is wired to the router. Now I have replaced this desktop with a new one it also runs Vista, and now the same thing has happened; I only receive email from one account. I tried deleting all accounts and set them all up again same problem. I have MS Office 2003 which has office outlook and it to does the same thing. I tried deleting accounts on both trying to single out the possibility of conflict, but still no luck.

Mar 23, 2009Recently swithched using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 with 4gb memory. As was told that MSoft Outllook not working with it? and was forced use Windows Mail intead. Basically the same as Outlook-06,07 version, but improved. Can send-receive emails, when browsing in the internet or working with word program and reach any contact "email address link" after cliking receive an error it should open new email window? Does anyone know what might be the problem on why there is an error, can fixed it or should I use with Vista, or use latest version of Outlook Express 7? (However WIndows Mail looks not bad)

Apr 10, 2008I recently bought a computer which I built by myself with some friends, and I have had some problems. Upon installation of Windows Home Premium 64 bit, I receive blue screen error messages. Usually they happen when I am trying to open a file, or if I am installing updates for anything. It either goes to a blue screen, or it will completely freeze, and I'll have to reboot. Sometimes upon rebooting, my computer will get stuck in between the loading screens for Vista, it will get past the Microsoft Corporation loading bar, but get stuck on a black screen before the vista symbol shows up. I have some friends that think its my RAM, because I have had 2 sticks of ram in, totaling 4gb, and others think its the Video card. below is a list of all my components.

Mar 23, 2008I have recently added another identity to my server and was told to put the incoming pop3 as pop3.xtra.co.nz port 995 and the outgoing SMTP as send.xtra.co.nz (use 554?) port 465 and enable SMTP server authentication. I can see my XP machines on my home network and access their public folders; however, they can see my Vista machine but not the public folders (the window is blank). Apr 6, 2008Not a huge problem as I can at least send and receive emails manually but can anyone suggest why my Windows Mail account no longer checks for new mail automatically, even though it's still set up to do so every minute? If I click on send/receive it comes up with an error message but no error code. And if I just click on receive email any messages come through straight away. I have no problem sending email or receiving it
by clicking on "receive mail" every so often, but I've spent ages trying to get back to how it used to be and can't. I hate giving in! The problem occurred after downloading a trial version of Norton and even though I uninstalled that (later trying AVG and now McAfee) the problem has persisted for months now.

Not Send Or Receive Any Email
Mar 31, 2008I have Windows Mail on Vista which was working fine for 7 months. Today it will not send or receive any email. There are no error messages, just outbound email sits in the outbox going nowhere and nothing is incoming despite having test emails sent. I also cannot read the sent items folder - it says Folder could not be displayed Windows mail could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space low memory. I know this is not the case. I do have several photographs on some of the emails outgoing lately.
