I have turned off my anti-virus program scan of outgoing mail, but that did not do anything.
I have recently added another identity to my server and was told to put the incoming pop3 as pop3.xtra.co.nz port 995 and the outgoing SMTP as send.xtra.co.nz (use 554?) port 465 and enable SMTP server authentication. I put the pop3 and SMTP info in and forgot to enter the different ports, voila i got my mail but couldnt send any. So i went in and put the ports in, voila couldnt send or receive. Downloading incoming mail is not a problem, and I obviously can post to newsgroups. Although this is a new problem, I turned off Norton's checking of outgoing mail - no change. Verizon had us change to Port 587 last year so that's not the issue either. WM does send e-mail from my desktop so apparently the problem is specific to the laptop.
