Sep 20, 2009Hey guys, I was curious does counter-strike source run in 64bit? (uses all 8gb of memory i have).
Does anyone know a website that shows all like programs that can run on 64 bit?

May 25, 2008i used to play css at a friends and he always had this window where he would type in cheats and stuff. now i got css and the only thing i wanna type in is cl_crosshairscale 9999 which i find very useful. the problem is i dont have an idea how to type it in!

Dec 28, 2009I recently received a new computer for Christmas and it runs a lot better than my old one. First thing I did was download CS:S and ARMA II, two games that I couldn't play on my old computer. At first Counter-Strike was running fine, but after I downloaded ARMA it began to have little connection hiccups which have screwed me over more than once. Then those hiccups became more frequent until eventually I could only stay in a room for about 2 minutes (1 round) before it would give me the WARNING: Connection Problem text. Then it seemingly fixes itself, only everyone on the map is invisible to me but they can still kill me. I try leaving and rejoining, and that fixes the invisibility problem, but the cycle just happens all over again. My ping is usually around 44 and I have a 5.71 Mbps down/ .42 up connection. I also have an Xbox 360 and a PS3, which I also play regularly and rarely get connection problems on those consoles. this is extremely frustrating to deal with and I'm trying to get into competitive pc gaming. I highly doubt that it's my connection, because the internet works fine on everything else, even ARMA II.

Mar 14, 2009new to the forum and dont have much computer experience. But im having this problem for Counter-Strike 1.6. I've downloaded steam and got all the updates. When I try to connect to a server to play, the box would show "Establishing connection to network server.." with 3 bar and froze. The only way out would be Ctrl+Alt+Del and End Task. At first, I thou it was Windows Firewall and the router. After I've disable both, still no luck. A friend is having the same issue and hes also running Vista x64.

Mar 26, 2008I purchased a digital update of Windows Vista Premium upgrade and the download won't load. I am useing a trial version of Windows XP 64-bit. I first used the digital locker a few times and it would stop at 99 percent and give a validation error. I figured it the locker was having a problem so i manual downloaded the three files through my internet browser. They downloaded fine without problems, but when I tried to run the Vista setup I ran into another error: 0x8007000D Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.

This is when I have a web page of a site I'm working with open on my screen in IE7. I use Windows Vista Home Premium. You could easily achieve this with WinXP using TweakUI but I don't know how to do it in Vista. Reason I want to do this is because the 'Edit with' button at taskbar at top of screen always greys out after any refresh of the page. Is there a registry tweak would let me fix this? The "power-troubleshooter" Source Will Tell You What Woke It Up Out Of Sleep
Mar 17, 2008Nearly all sleep problems are caused by devices that are set to be able to wake the computer back up again.They can wake your computer instantly, randomly, or can cause your computer not to fully enter sleep mode and even cause it never to wake up. If you have any problems similar to the ones described then the following could be your cure.
Advanced Users: Check the system event log. The "power-troubleshooter" source will tell you what woke it up out of sleep. If it says "Wake Source: Unknown" Its most likely to do with step 3.
1) Disable Vista's multimedia sharing option from restricting sleep:
Type 'power options' in the start menu and press enter->Choose 'Balanced' -> 'Change plan settings' (for the chosen power plan) -> 'Change advanced power settings' -> Scroll down to 'Multimedia settings' -> Choose 'Allow the computer to sleep'
2) Prevent Devices from being able to wake your computer.
Type 'device manager' in the start menu and press enter
-> Expand 'Keyboards' -> Right click 'properties' on your keyboard -> 'Power Management' tab -> Deselect 'Allow this device to wake the computer' -> OK ,..............
No "Edit Source" Option In Windows Mail
May 21, 2009When I click "View" while composing a new e-mail message in windows mail the only three options that I get are:
- Cc and Bc
- Status bar
- Customize toolbar
there is no "Edit source" option. What could be the problem? Does Windows Mail have this feature at all?
Is "64bit Compatible" The Same As 64bit For HW?
Nov 24, 2009I'm struggling to find a clear answer on this. Within our environment, we've been ordering Dell PCs for quite some time. I've been told that about midway through the ordering of Dell GX620 Optiplexes that the cores went from single to dual. In effect, I've been advised that these machines and, subsequently everything we've ordered since, are considered 64bit compatible because they have two 32bit cores. Does that sound accurate? What I truly need to know is whether or not any of our PCs (Dell 745, 755 and 760 E8400 Core 2 Duo for desktop; P8400 for laptop) have 64bit hardware. If two 32bit cores mean that they're 64bit compatible, is that the same as being true 64bit? And, last but not least, will 64bit compatible hardware (assuming it's different than 64bit hardware) run a 64bit OS like Windows 7?

Dec 18, 2008i have been running xp pro and decided to try vista ultimate 64bit. the installation went very smoothly. i immediately loaded super pi and 3dmark06 to compare benchmark scores with xp pro. i was surprised to see that the vista scores were 10 to 15% slower. i loaded the latest gpu drivers and loaded the motherboard drivers from the installation disk.
should vista score less than xp pro or is there something i can do to correct this.
32 Bit OS PC Cannot See 64bit Os Pc Shares.
Feb 16, 2010I have setup a home networking with 2 vista machines. One is 32bit OS and the other one is 64bit OS. I set up the workgroup, turned on File & Print Sharing, created shares on both PC's and gave permissions. From the 64bit Vista PC, it's working perfectly fine. I can see, connect and use the files. But from the 32bit os pc, I can see the 64bit pc and the "Network". But I cannot explore nor Map a Drive to 64bit PC.

Jul 3, 2008I just did a clean install of Vista 64 Home Premium and have run into a strange problem. I cannot log in to the XFX Support website using either 32 or 64 bit IE7 on the Vista machine. I can log in fine using an XP machine. Further when I tried to fill in the form to d/l the office 2007 trial version so I could import my mail folder from my backup disk into Vista Mail the form would reset everytime I selected the US as my country (was my only option, I assume since I had already input my state). In Firefox the form would appear to reload when I chose US but would keep everything I'd typed in as well as saving that I chose US. IE7 just wiped out all the text boxes and reset the country to choose country.
Needless to say since it blanked the form every time I couldn't get the trial initially. I've somewhat bypassed the problem by installing and using Firefox 3 which is not having either of these problems. The install was a clean install with nothing more than Vista, drivers and updates installed. P.S. I tried the IE7 group but they seemed to think I should post in the Vista groups
HP 64bit Freezing
Jan 19, 2009I just recently upgraded from Windows Home Premium 32bit to the 64bit version and I am having problems with it randomly freezing. The freeze up usually occurs when I am installing a program, just starting to download a file, and even sometimes when I am surfing the web. When my system freezes it like everything locks up...mouse, keyboard, HDD, monitor...everything. The only way to restore my system is a hard boot. I had no problems with Vista 32 bit and it ran well for almost a year so I have a feeling it is a software problem.....Not sure what is causing the freeze ups…sometimes it will run for hours and then freeze sometimes it will freeze 5min after I boot it up…seems to always happen when I’m doing something in windows…
