How Can I Make The Right Click View Source Open Page In FrontPage?
May 24, 2008
I can get the right click drop down menu's 'View source' to always open a web page in MS Frontpage instead of Notepad? This is when I have a web page of a site I'm working with open on my screen in IE7. I use Windows Vista Home Premium. You could easily achieve this with WinXP using TweakUI but I don't know how to do it in Vista. Reason I want to do this is because the 'Edit with' button at taskbar at top of screen always greys out after any refresh of the page. Is there a registry tweak would let me fix this? Prefer not to have to install an entire tweaking program just for this one change.
how I can make a shortcut open a command prompt as another user with just one click? I have the credentials its just I have to be able to do it as fast as possible so maybe just clicking on something that automatically "Runs as" the user who's credentials I set it to. I can not use the following;.bat .exe .cmd .reg Or anything else that could be blocked by a software restriction policy in a school.
Microsoft was set to announce Thursday that it would make the interchangeable document format of a competitor available in its own market-leading Office 2007 software during the first half of 2009.
The company, under pressure from European regulators, national standards organizations and its own government clients, said it planned to give customers the ability to open, edit and save documents in Open Document Format - the main competitor to Word - through a free update.
When I open hotmail from windows live messenger, the page opens from an already open internet explorer web page + a new one with a message saying that the email address or password is incorrect. Does it happen to anyone else here?
If you run Microsoft Windows, you owe it to yourself to try these 10 killer open source apps -- InfoWorld's top picks By Randall C. Kennedy. To many, free open source software and Microsoft Windows seem to be mutually exclusive. After all, the open source development model is most closely associated with the Linux OS and, to a lesser degree, various Unix derivatives. So when you mention the two together, you often get some rather strange looks. This is a shame because there exists a growing landscape of compelling free and open source solutions just waiting for the intrepid Windows user
Why do I have to click twice (instead of once) to go back one page in IE8. I looked for a setting but I can't find one. I always before only had to click the back arrow once and it would go back to the previous page.
my acer 5335 is brand new and has vista basic. when i first connected to the internet i installed all available updates including explorer 8 and vista service pack 2. i also downloaded avg anti virus and sunbelt firewall. the problem i have is that some links in some sites will not open at all, some need a right click to select 'open' from the menu, and others open as they should with just a single left click. examples, on my hotmail page, mails will open with a single left click, but the reply or new mail controls will not respond to right or left.
i can left click to view details of cars from the listings, but if i want to view the extra pictures i need to right click and select open. google search works fine and most forum sites as i've been looking for a fix have been ok too. the having to right click isn't too much of a problem but not being able to reply to mail is going to be a pain.
I have strange problem with my PPP connection. I'm using DSL with no router. Suddenly after few hours i'm losing connectivity of both Firefox and IE, i can't open any page. But at same time my Internet connection hasn't dropped. With MS-DOS prompt i have normal ping and tracert to any public host even my 2nd PC(winXP) has internet. In order to go back to normal i have to reboot and then till next time.
This is the first time I tried to send a web link to a friend in need but when I tried to see if it works before mailing it and it did not open the web on a click, but it will open it on copy and paste.
My computer keep stay on the loading page for 2 hours after I restart the computer, and I can't even open to savemode. I did try used the system restore, but the result said " system restore failed due to an unspectifed error. The system cannot find the file specified. (0 x 80070002 )
Tabs are one of the best new features in Internet Explorer 7. I like them because they keep my task bar clean of extra Internet Explorer instances. The only problem I have is with pop-ups that are on my allow list such as when I write a new message in Outlook Web Access. Follow these steps to configure Internet Explorer 7 to always open up pop-ups in a new tab instead of a new browser window:
While IE7 is running, click on Tools and select Internet Options.
On the General tab under the Tabs section hit Settings....
I am still looking for an answer to my question about minimizing. My minimizing will not last, in particular the webmail. Once I open a new window, the minimized page just vanishes.
I trying to open or view some attachments within Windows Mail. Usually it is attachments with a pps suffix, but not always. For example if I have an attachment amed "CreativeShotsAZ.pps" and click on it Open Office will open and then I will get the error message "C:Sysyem32CreativeShotsAZ does not exist". If I try to copy the attachment to the desktop I get the message "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in CreativeShotsAZ,pps.Verify the item's location and try again. I thought maybe that the pps format could not be read by Open Office so I downloaded a pps reader from Microsoft but since the system cannot find the file I can't use the reader.
New Toshiba laptop with Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. Windows Mail as email client; unable to view or open any attachments. Attachment is clearly visible in the Preview pane with a yellow paperclip, but I am unable to access this attachment in any way. I have AVG 8.5 installed as AV / Email Scanner (this program is known to work with other Vista 64-Bit OS'). IE8 was previsously installed, but after reading threads in this forum, I removed it and restarted the computer- but still have the same problem.
I have a question about the toolbar though. With previous versions of windows I could fill up the toolbar with open windows and just click on the one I wanted. Now in Vista it will only show me 2 open windows at a time in the tool bar. If I have 3 or more open I have to click on the up or down arrow to find them and then click on them. Is there any way to have more than 2 windows show on the toolbar. This would be for separate applications so the grouping option won't help me here.
When I double click on my files in Windows Explorer the files won't open. I have to quad drupel or mass click for them to open. What could be the cause of this non responsive explorer. This is also can happen on the internet and on numerous apps.
I've got a Vista Home Premium system with Office 2007. I can't open Word *.doc files by double-clicking on them, either on the desktop or when they are attachments in emails (the most common way I get them.) All I get is an error saying the file I'm trying to open is "not a valid Win32 application." When I right-click the .doc file icon and go to "Open With" there is an option that reads "Microsoft Office 2007 component" and it has the Office 2007 Word icon next to it. I again get the "not a valid Win32 application." I can open one of these documents when I have Word already running and just Open File, but its just annoying and time consuming over and over again.
I have gotten a new computer with Windows Vista which I'm not familiar with. When I upload my photos, they go to the Windows Live picture place instead of just to "my pictures" like they did with XP. When I try to email pictures, they can only be emailed as attachments. This is a huge pain to have to individually open each picture. How can I make my pictures appear in the body of the email so recipients don't have to click to open each picture?
At the end of the day I always like to close the open applications to prepare my computer for the next day. Since I rarely reboot my desktop, I manually close each application. Depending on the number of open applications this can be a waste of time. The people at NTWind Software have a perfect utility for this situation aptly called Close All Windows. Instead of manually closing each application just click the Close All Windows button on your taskbar.
In this article I will show you how to install and configure Close All Windows on your computer for easy access on the taskbar.
To get started head over to NTWind Software and download the latest version of Close All Windows....
it was working fine when i had windows XP but since upgrading to Vista (old lappy died on me), the FrontPage kept shutting down when i was trying to make changes to my web page (like changing hyper links), and it restarted my FrontPage automatically.
The actual question regards IE8. I just recently came back to IE8, and I got into the habit of hitting the center mouse button on my daily 3 favorites folders. Each one opens maybe= 6 web pages. The trouble is it opens each page two or more times. ie: If there= were only one page in the folder and I used the center mouse button to open = that single page, it might open that page 2 or 3 times with the single click.
I browsed one page of IE8 bugs, and found nothing on this. So how do I = get it to stop at opening just the single links in each favorite folder only = once ? The title above. This appeared as a price for support. I've bought cars = that cost less. Is anyone actually paying for support from a telemarketer in = India at these prices ? I spent an entire day online with support with someone I could barely understand, and never got the problem fixed awhile back.
When I open the hotmail.com page, I see in the live id field someoneelse's account adress. Instead I am supposed to see my own account adress, as a cookie should keep that. Now I dont know what is going on... I use vista ultimate with AVG. I leave my laptop open during the midnight for emule. I use wireless internet conenction and it is unsecured. My vista ultimate has the sp1 and latest updates, with firewall on... In these conditions can someone reach and use the hotmail from my computer? What is going on? If I cannot get a sensible answer, I will start to doubt if someone breaks in my home during the day and use my laptop, when I am at work.
When reading an email using Windows Mail,if the text in the body of that email contains an email address,is it possible to double click on that address and have Windows Mail open automatically with a blank reply page?
This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
I am currently running Vista Ultimate (32 bit) with an Intel E6400 chip and 4 gig of ram. When I open an Excel file and go to the page set-up, my screen start pulsating and it is difficult to get the drop-down menues to work. At the same time I have a small circle that indicates the program is grinding away. I have had similar issues with Word when I try to print an envelope. This has also happened with other software applications such as Quicken 2008. Rebooting the machine temporaily solves the problem, but not alway.
I'm not having much luck with Google and I realize it's off topic in here, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction for help. In Winzip 12.0 when I open a zip file with pictures in it, it always brings them up in thumbnail view. I can change the view to "details" and get a list of the filenames which is what I want to be the default action. But I can't seem to find a place where I can set that to the default. Winzip 8.0 didn't do this. I was *happy* with 8.0 but unfortunately it isn't compatible with Vista or Windows 7
When I right click a drive on my Vista..it shows explore as the default option and is highlighted than the open....I check for trojans and viru but none were found.
