Why is that I'm getting non-existent ghost e-mail addresses when using automatic completion of e-mail address option in the "*To*: text box"? They are no longer in my Windows Contacts but if I start to type the *To:* address it presents a list of possible entries, _*even_the_delated_ones*_. How to avoid this situation? Where are those entries located, so I can delete them
Can't Windows Mail autofill e-mail addresses from Windows Contacts into the "To: "line? Opening Windows Contacts searching for an address and moving an address across seems awkward. It seems that you should start trying the address and it should autofil.
I need help guys!I have an empty torrent file that shows up on my start menu when I search it. I try to delete it and Vista doesn't let me. I get this message *"This is no longer located in c:usersmy cpu nameappadta oamingutorrent. Verify the item's location and try again."* The problem is that the actual file doesn't exist on my computer any more but it still shows up when I search for it from the start menu. Vista doesn't let me delete or rename it.
-taking ownership of the file -using a unlocker program I downloaded -using a file shedder program I downloaded
and none of these worked for me. Does anyone have any other ideas or solutions to this problem. Its driving me nuts!
i have imported my contacts into windows mail ok. windows mail will not autofill email address's. on outlook express, yahoo, aol, when you start typing the email address you get a drop down menu with a selection of address's. i have ticked the automatically fill email address's in the options. all my contacts are in windows mail, i can see them if i open contacts. someone please help. more info:- it appears that if I have sent an email, by typing in the full address, it remembers that address and the autofill works ok for the contacts that i have "manually" sent an email. i have over 200 contacts.
In Outlook Express, I used to add a registry D-String value to the WAB4 folder called "UseOutlook" with a "1" value. This allowed OE to pull my contacts from Outlook and keep the OE and Outlook address books identical. Upgraded to Vista/Windows Mail and even though it pulled my address book from OE, I can't figure out how to link to Outlook as before. Also, even though I've checked the box to automatically fill e-mail name/address when composing an e- mail, it's only auto filling names I've sent e-mails to from Windows Mail, not from the Contacts book.
I am trying to set up my Microsoft Mail and I am trying to import webmail. I have a Juno, yahoo, and sbcglobal account. Could anyone tell me the incoming/outgoing adresses for the juno and yahoo?
Under vista I no longer get an address or selection of possible addressees after typing in several characters of the recipient's address. I was told previously in this forum that this would happen after I entered the addressee's name three times. I've done that many times over and still no auto recognition.
My wife is using vista with windows mail. The email address for one of her friends is correct in the contacts list but when she starts to type in her friends name in the "To" box three options pop up one of which is the correct address but two have additional letters embedded in them which makes them unusable. Is there any way to locate and delete these spurious addresses?

I have sent some e-mails using Craiglist. I probably have sent five or six by now. The address always starts out sale...etcetc. When I start to send an e-mail and the first letter of the name is s, all the addresses that I used in Craiglist show up. Since I wouldn't use these again, I want to delete them, but they don't show up in contacts. How can you delete these?
I cannot get the auto-complete of addresses to work. Some of the addresses go in once I start typing them in,but others have to be typed in manually. I have the tab marked to fill them in automatically.
how to retrieve my e-mail addresses I am using the same carrier, however I went from Windows Outlook to Vista mail. I don't have access to my old computer, it crashed. I am also not sure which windows outlook I was using.
In Windows XP, the Microsoft mail program would allow more that one e-mail address for a person. When you sent a e-mail, all the addresses would show before you sent the e-mail. In Vista, Microsoft Mail will allow you more than one address per person, but when I put the name in the "TO Box", only one address for that person shows up. In XP I could pick the address just before the e-mail was sent, but I can't seem to find a was to do it in Vista.
Each time I send an email to a group of addresses my email also gets sent to an unintended (not listing in To recipient. I can't seem to stop my emails from going to this other person. What can I do to stop this?
After installing Windows Vista I get a single network adapter assigned two IP addresses which causes a conflict everytime I start up. I disable and enable the adapter and the problem goes away. Then I can connect to the internet.
I am really having problems importing my address book from yahoo into windows messaging. I have saved the addresses as a cvs file, but when I import into my mail program, the email addresses still don't appear in my address book.
When I click on 'to' in Windows Mail the list of names offered does not match the carefully compliled list in my Contacts folder. The 'to' list includes names I want to remove but cannot see the way to do it and if possible make the two lists the same.
Is there a way to disable a contacts email address from showing up in an email sent...I want names only in the sent to line. Not everyone wants there email address shown for others to get.
My router has been blocking a steady stream of UDP packets from the same four IP addresses. This has been going on for several days now. Here is an extract from the router's log. This same sequence repeats itself "ad infinitum" ;-)

Just in case, I rebooted the router and the computer... same results. I also checked SANS to see if there was any new activity and none was noted in relation to these ports.
When sending a message in Windows Mail, the 'TO' line shows the recipient's name and email address. Is there any way to just show the name and not email address?
