I talked with Asus cause i wanted to buy a HD For my Notebook. So, they said it would work fine, but it would get too hot, and that i should buy a cool pad for my computer. Which Coolpad should i choose? I want one that is very powerful, and that works great to cool the computer.
I just check the temp on my 9800GX2, and while playing a video in Media Player the GPU temp is around 87 degrees celsius, and the PCB is around 78! Surely that's too hot? After playing games they both go above the 90 degree mark, even to the 100 degree - how can I cool this mammoth card down? Some games it gets hot and the video card just shuts down and I have to reset. I have a cooler master CM690 case, with a front intake fan (120mm), a rear exhaust fan (90mm), a side of the case fan over the CPU (120mm, exhaust), and a side of the case fan over the GFX card (120mm, intake, blows air over the gfx card). Maybe I need to change the configuration of the fans? Or get something a hell of a lot better for them? I regularly use a can of compressed air inside the case, and on all the fans to keep it dust free.
right latest question, I am really considering going upto using GTX graphics cards maybe either the 280 or 285 (not sure as yet), but as we all know the standard passive cooling it has is a bit, well, crap.
So i want to find out the best cooling solution apart from water cooling as i don't really want that much maintenance, is there anything different i can use or is that the only thing i can use for best results.

Quote: Intel's newest high-end processor, the Core i7 975 Extreme Edition is gearing up for launch later this year, on course of which, it already passed a milestone. Xtreme Systems Forums member PcCI2iminal scored one with overclocking a Core i7 975 XE D0 stepping chip part the 5 GHz mark, 5015 MHz to be precise using only air cooling for the processor, with an ambient temperature of 20 °C as claimed by the overclocker. more: techPowerUp!
i know that water cooling is less noisy, takes up less room and cools more efficiently. but how much do the temperatures drop on average from standard air coolers? i want to have a go at decent overclocking when i build my new rig (not what it drops down to, how much it cools down )=

i`ve seen a video in Internet where the user overclocks his e2220 (that is my cpu model) from 2.4ghz to 3.16ghz. i got a question: after overclocking will i need a new cooling fan?
I need to choose between these 2 systems: 1. comes with an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz dual core processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 320GB SATA II hard drive and Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
2. comes with Pentium 4 CPU, 3.2 GHz, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 320GB SATA II hard drive and Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
I'm trying to use a VPN connection and it works fine if I'm using my wired connection, however if I'm on my wireless network at home, the VPN connection does not work unless I disable the ethernet card.
I got a problem with my resolution, I cant choose higher than 1024x768. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, cleaned all drivers both for my screen and video card, nothing works. When I have uninstalled my grapich card i can choose higher res, but when I reinstall it, it will set back to 1024x768. I have looked all over but cant find anyone with the same problem..........
how come i cannot choose recipients when sending emails. it has happened before and i uninstalled an update (can't remember the update ). however, that update is not installed and now i cannot choose recipients, nor can i add a new contact to my contacts folder.
I have a unused Audigy 2 ZS, and my mobo has Realtek ALC888 7.1 HD sound onboard...
Considering the following : - I want to do Photostory3 and Windows Movie Maker stuff high quality - I would still like to be able to play games like Ghost Recon, COD2 and Far Cry with surround sound. - I want the best performance, and the least headaches...
Which one should I use, the Audigy 2 ZS (and alchemy for EAX support) or the onboard (will I still have non-EAX surround in older games, and will it use too much my CPU for video editing?)...
I have single user, home computer running Vista Home Premium (32 Bit). My e-mail usage level is fairly low. (About 15 - 20 per day.) Right now, I have two e-mail systems on my machine namely Windows Mail and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. I am looking for advice on which one to use. Windows Mail appears to be the simpler one and would satisfy my requirements but I do not wish to use it if it is likely to be discontinued in the near future.
When I start windows home premium on a new pc for the first time should i get an option to choose the installation language? I bought a pc in germany and the start up failed i got an error message in an endless loop i got it to start with the recovery disc but that has set it to German and i cant change it. Can anyone confirm or not that if the set up had run correctly i should have been offered the option to set up in English. if this is the case i can go back to the manufacturer and complain.
I downloaded some new Mac fonts and I want to change the default font in Vista to one of them. I can't do that via Appearance>Advanced, because there's a limited variety of fonts to choose from.
This may be a Office 2007 question. I use Windows Fax & Scan and Outlook 2007. I am unable to choose a recipient from Outlook 2007 Contacts correctly to use in Windows Fax & Scan. When I click on the To: Button in Windows Fax & Scan I only get three columns shown. Name, Display Name and E-mail Address. If the intended recipient does not have an email adress their name does not appear. What am I setting up incorrectly. I can not see an option in Windows Fax & Scan. Is it a Outlook setting.
ive got a 64 bit system with hard drives c: and D: each with 125gig of ram. Vista is installed on C: but how do i access the 125gig free space on D:, When ever i download it always goes to C: without giving me the option to download to D: Sorry if this is a noob question
I've downloaded several stationaries from the Window's site. It's taken me forever to find where Vista downloaded them. Why can't I choose where the files are downloaded? It gave me no option to do this.
After having my computer crashing - for whatever reason - i took it in to have all important documents (work stuff) that i needed transfered to an external hard drive.
I was informed to re install Vista, and that all my information will be lost.
When i did this, i did not reformat the drive, so it saved all the other stuff in a folder titlled windows.old.
I respoke to the person who assisted me, and told him of the issue that i am having which is:
Choose operating system to start or press tab to select a tool ...
I am looking for the recommendation of utilty erasing data from harddrive. I need the utilty which: 1. Will NOT stop on errors (disk write errors) but it will continue until all disk is done or 2. Will allow me to choose sectors to overwrite.
I know every one here has this default Vista (even XP) problem. The problem is that the folder customization / layout never stays the way you set it, even minutes later after closing/re-opening explorer. This is driving me insane. For example, in explorer under Computer I choose large icons. Close, re-open its back to list view instead. Sometimes other folders will somehow change views by themselves too. This is really annoying.
Am trying to install xp on a new laptop that already has vista. Have made another partition using vista disc management. I boot to xp disc and go to install but cannot choose a drive or partition as box remains empty and nothing shows.
i am running window 7 and vista. vista is on a 250 hard drive. window 7 is on a 500 hard drive. now to change window i turn my pc off. and change the red cable from drive to drive. now what i like to know is. if i connect the 2 red cable on the 2 drive do i get to choose window on boot up. or do i need a special program to make it work. now it is with 2 drive not a single drive .
My "size" option appears to have gone missing, and I'm not sure why. I searched with google, as well as these forums, though I could find no answer to my problem. (Though that doesn't mean one hasn't been posted; my searching skills may just be crappy.) Regardless, has anyone had this, or a similar issue, occur? Or does anyone know how to add your own "details" to choose from so I can get it back manually? I saw this: Folder Size for Windows Explorer. I probably need something along those lines, but for the size option instead... Also, if I'm somehow just staring at the list and missing it even after scanning through each item, (Picture included to rule out/verify idiocy on my part.)
I am not sure what has happened but the following message appears when turning on my comp: Quote: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1) Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer 2) Choose your language settings and then click Next 3) Click 'Repair your Computer'.
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. File: windowssystem32windload.exe. Status: 0xc000000e Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt. I have the disk but how do i boot from it? I am very worried i've broken my comp for good.
I installed SP2 for Vista when it came out. I created a new user account today. I opened Windows Media Player 11 and it started with Welcome to Window Media Player 11 for Vista window. It wants me to Choose the initial setting... Express or Custom. I can pick either one and the Finish button appears. I try click on the finish button, but nothing happens... the button doesn't animate to show it=E2=80=99s been clicked on. I checked the version on WMP_setup.exe and it is 11.0.6001.7000 and won't work with wmplayer.exe 11.0.6002.18005 installed. Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable ......
I Have Windows Vista OEM 32 bit that came on my computer. I noticed that the full retail version of ultimate includes the 32 and 64 bit install. With the anytime upgrade to ultimate can I choose between the 32 and 64 bit vista ultimate? I do realize that I would have to do a clean install of the 64 bit OS. I would like to try the 64 bit version but would also like to be able revert back to the 32 bit if the 64 bit doesn't work out. If I can't then the 32 bit version it is as I need to join a domain.........
