WLAN AutoConfig Change Start To "0x000000002 (2)"

The wireless switch is booted up in the on position. I go to windows network diagnostic and it says that I need to Start Windows Wireless Service, but this won't start and I'm simply told "Windows cannot resolve your problem". I have found this link, Windows Wireless Service? - Windows BBS and vista-windows wireless service can't start...... - TechNet Forums and have attempted this technet fix and changed the reg value from 3 to 2:

4. Restart but this hasn't fixed the issue..........

Been trying all sorts to get a Toshiba laptop to see a wireless network. Network is definitely present. Lastly have checked WLAN AutoConfig settings: Setup is set correctly to automatic Service status is stopped. Clicking Start I get the following error Windows could not start the WLAN AutoConfig service on Local Computer. Error 0x0000003: One or more arguments are invalid.

I have no wireless network connection because my WLAN autoconfig won't start up. When i go to my services and start my WLAN Autoconfig , i get the following message: Error 3 : The system cannot find the path specified. Can i reinstall this service ? How can i solve this problem ? I have a Zepto (company went bankrupt) computer with a Vista peremium 64-bit os. For about 2 months ago i reinstalled the computer but it was yesterday i needed my wlan card for first time. I can use my wlan but i can use wired internet. I have tried both old and new drivers. I got the computer wlan switch on but i still can't enable wlan under Network connections. Everything under the device manager is installed and working correct. When i enbale My wireless network it does not change. It is still disabled. When i try to enable it true my Ralink (wlan card distributor) software it just say "Switch radio state fail". I'm completely out of ideas now.

I just set up a home wireless network (first time) and in the process some security questions came up. I am using a 2wire gateway provided by AT&T. It has a firewall internal, and all 3 of my machines have windows firewall functional. In order to make the wireless connection, I was required to enter the Passkey number from the gateway, but I was given the choice to connect to 2 other networks which I assume belonged to neighbors. The signals were weak, but I tried one and was able to piggyback to the 'net with no problem. My question is, how do I know that the neighbors are not able to connect to my network? Should I care? Would they be able to hack into my machines, and if so what should I do about it?

CURRENT behaviour. Right click on START, left click on EXPLORE, opens in a window with Start Menu folder selected. DESIRED behaviour. Right click on START, left click on EXPLORE, would like a full screen window with my user folder selected. My username is Admin. I suspect a modification to the registry may be required to accomplish my desired behaviour.

I installed windows for the 21st time...(Yes it is 21) It's all working out but i found a glitch. When i changed the location of my pictures and music to an other location, all of them where working 100%. But then i had to change the letter of the drive they were on. Now when i click on them they don't do anything and if i right-click on it and go to properties it kind of freezes. A properties window appears but it's almost all white.

how to change the default setting of the Recent Items on the Start menu from alphabetical to date order in Vista Home Premium. I did it on my desktop a year ago- I seem to recall it was a Registry change- but on my laptop I'm stuck with the useless alphabetical order.

when i start my computer i get nothing no icons start menu or anything but i do get a my documents window and from there i have to ctrl alt delete then go to file run and run explorer does anyone know how to make it to where i dont have to do all that stuff to run explorer basically does anyone know how to make it where when i start my computer it is normal with explorer running?

my vista came with 64bit os . i want to change to 32 bit os either vista or windows 7 . my computer has a recovery drive factory image d. now my question is it possible to change the os to a 32 bit operating system even though it has a 64 bit now . also if something happens or it doesnt work out will i still be able to access the image drive and would that go back to my original operating system of vista 64bit os . or could i make a bootable disc of my recovery drive and how would i do that.

i am running windows vista home premium and ie7.0.6001.1800i like to watch Internet and with ie6 i was able to go to the cache and save some of the funnier clips.i cannot find the cache in ie7 so i either need help finding the cache or i want to be able to go back to ie6 if possible.

I have just bought a second hand laptop (once again!). I have changed the user name on it to my name (kasim). But the problem is that when i go to Computer and then Users, the user name is still the same as before. The only settings that are on my name is the start menu. I have recently installed software called 'Tune Up Utilites 2010' and immediately found a vast improvement and one its recommendations was to increase resolution to 1680 x 1050. Having then done that in 'Display Properties' it then advises to 'Set dpi to 96'.
However, I cannot find how to make changes to dpi.

I reinstalled vista home premium 32bit and just when i was finish i got this text The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected Error. Windows Installation cannot proceed,. To install Window, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. i red somwhere that it would fix to change the voltage to DDR and now i wonder how do i change it? I need to change the default ICS IP address 192.168.0.1 when sharing my Internet connection with other machines as I have an IP conflict with the cellular modem that I cannot change. Is it possible to assign a new network range for the dhcp server for the local network. If so, probably in the registry. Does anyone know of this?

I have Windows Vista Ultimate. Quite often I try to change or update the names of a folder, and Vista would not let me allow, and I get dialog boxes telling me that I cannot have access, or do not have persmission, etc, and I get these denials even after I closed all the other files. It gets annoying that I get the "NO" after I already typed the new names. I am the only person who have access to this home PC. How can I change this so the computer will let me change names anytime I want to?

Up to a few weeks ago, I was able to change my IP address with these commands:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
But all of a sudden, I cant. I talked to my ISP and they say that nothing change on their side and I still have a dynamic IP. I believe that maybe one of the updates is responsible for this, I update to SP1 and almost every update exist for vista. So, my question is, do you know maybe on an update that can cause this?

I am curious about the change to port 587. After upgrading to Vista SP1, using Windows Mail, I had the same problem as a few on this board, but only with my roadrunner service. I could receive mails. However, I could send e-mails that were very short (read one or two lines), but anything of any length and I got the usual message of server connection unexpectly closed. I turned off my antivirus program completely and still got the message and could not send e-mails of any basic length. However, I did try the suggestion in a previous thread of changing the smtp port to 587 (even though it appeared to be a comcast network) and, so far, it appears to solve my problem with roadrunner (knock on wood).
