I am unable to open any Microsoft websites. I have resetted the Internet explorer. I am able to use the Microsoft website in safe mode with networking but iam no able to browse Microsoft sitre in Normal mode.
View 8 RepliesThis is getting very desperate for me. My problem is i am unable to access websites using my IE7 web browser. Things i have tried so far, run malware and deleted the results, run CCCleaner and deleted the results, run Anti Virus - there does not seem to be a virus on the machine although it displayed a comment on the system toolbar that there was a w32.zaposhopping virus on machine.
I am able to ping my router and go beyond that by pinging an DNS server 4.2.2.2 with successfully results so i know that there is nothing wrong witheither. I have reset IE7 explorer, i have deleted all tmp files, cookies etc.
I am able to access Google BUT it seems no other sites - I am at my wits end as to what to do next. I am very experienced with computer and work in the industury but not come across anything like this before.
Vista works ok with my email servers. Except when trying to access it from a website, like craigslist. It won't open. Anyone have a fix?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I open the first website it takes 42 seconds. The second takes 20 no matter what order I open them. If I close IE or Firefox and re-open the website it takes 32-40 seconds. The second takes 20. When I open the first program it takes 9 seconds. I do not have a lot of programs running, run my utilities regularly, use CCleaner daily. My hardrive has 50 of 150g used. Is there a way to cut down the load time of the initial website?

The reason: the file doesn't open properly as is, IOW a calendar shows up in sections of four and incomplete as such.
Any one have any issues with part of the words on the left hand side of the screen missing when microsoft office outlook is open? It's really wierd, sometimes the whole word is there and somtimes like the last one or two letters are mising but nothing that seems regular from day to day. Like on the name "Sent Items" sometimes it just says "Sent Iten"

When clicking the same program from the start menu -> program folder, it will run. What could be? I am not using the classic menu. View 9 Replies View RelatedThe main problem with ALL Microsoft "support" groups is they are infested with way too many Microsoft butt kissers (ie MVP's) that simply seem unable to give objective advice and generally color their comments to favor Microsoft decisions no matter what. I find it amusing, but also misleading, harmful and counterproductive. :-)
The reality is Vista follows a long line of previous Windows releases that also were buggy, not tested well enough under real world conditions, is overpriced, lacks imagination, contains flawed, crippled or broken features, removes items that were hinted at being included in beta releases or shifts wanted features to the most expensive version and perhaps the worse thing, leaves bugs that were reported in earlier versions of Windows with Vista adding many new ones.
In other words, typical Microsoft software. Overpriced, not thoroughly tested, not ready for prime time and sure to frustrate millions with useless things like UAC that mostly gets in the way rather then helping or offering any real security. Add in a useless Vista Upgrade Advisor that lulls users into falsely thinking their system is ready to have Vista installed when it often crashes in a BSOD due to driver issues the Advisor claimed "shouldn't" be a problem, yes, it is fair to label Vista as a disaster. Is there such a thing as a Quality Control Department at Microsoft?
If I receive an e-mail with an attachment "DOC" my system can't open it. I'm running with Vista and even if someone else is using Vista I still can't open it. The system suggests Adobe or Internet Explorer neither of which works. I've tried to get my Microsoft Works Word to open it but I'm not having any luck. I don't have Microsoft Word, could that be my problem.

I tried to open proxy switcher program but everytime i do, this error occurs. Previously, I was able to open the program several times until i uninstalled it. A few days later, I re-installed the program again and tried to use it. But was unable to. I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select which includes proxy switcher program. It dont seem to work either.

I have been unzipping files in Vista with no problem, after the download of AVG 9 I am unable to open them.
When I right click on the file I do not get Extract all in the list.
I do not know which is the program that opens zip files within Vista and so I am unable to tell it which program to Open with.
I recently bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium 32bit and everything on it works fine. Or well, not everything lol. I can't seem to get any burning software to work :s I tried installing Nero, but it gave me a message that "another program has just been updated, so you need to restart" (or something like that). I restart and it says it again. I tried installing CDBurnerXP and it installed fine, but when I start the program, nothing happens. Program don't open or anything. I then tried installing Starburn and it also installed just fine, but when I click on Data Burning Wizard, it shows up that it's trying to find CD/DVD burners, and it keeps searching forever (or well, I waited 30 minutes and then manually shutdown the program).

He currently has office 2007 trial on the laptop and I have downloaded word & excel viewer 2003 but most of them are still not opening. Every few days i try to open various emails via the paperclip with attchments such as .jpg files and the window opens up " Windows cannot find"xxxxxxxx.jpg". Kake sure you have typed the name correctly and then try again."
I can only open them if i save the attachment this happens to all emails in my inbox.
I have cured this in the past by doing a system restore going back a couple of days and things are good for 2 or 3 days then the same thing happens.

I m the administrator user. It used to open fine till yesterday. Also when i open system properties to create a system restore point, it says that the system restore creation is disabled by the Group policy editor.

I can see all my emails in my Comcast & Hotmail accounts (the subject line) but when I try to open them I get an error message saying: 'There is an error opening this message & that's' it! I also noticed that the following options are greyed out (not available) Reply Reply All Forward. I'm not sure what's going on but it's been like this for 2 days & for a brief moment I was actually able to open & read an email today. Attachment is clearly visible in the Preview pane with a yellow paperclip, but I am unable to access this attachment in any way. I have AVG 8.5 installed as AV / Email Scanner (this program is known to work with other Vista 64-Bit OS'). IE8 was previsously installed, but after reading threads in this forum, I removed it and restarted the computer- but still have the same problem.
