My Vista machine crashed and I had to reinstall Vista. I was able to create an old windows version which is stored on my root drive. I need my emails from Outlook 07 that where on the old Vista. They are not on my mail server.

Vista has failed and I have only "command prompt (DOS) and a 4 gig memory stick to recover data. I can not see the directory in dos that I believe the data is stored - c:usersgibbonzappxx*.pst.Using Vista Business, with a Dell Inspiron. I have transfered Documents, photos and spreadsheets with no issues.

My email accounts - I had about 10 and with a bit of pain I can recover them. My rules - I had about 200 and only with a LOT of pain and time will I be able to recovery them. Any advice (instructions at the dummy level would be welcome) as to how I can recover my email accounts and rules (especially my rules).

None of them will complete without errors and I can't send or receive emails in outlook. I realize I have to have correct user and passwords and those I have. There are different incoming and outgoing directions for all three.

I have used aapt as my Service Provider for a few months. I was using Outlook to send and receive mails. Everything was working as expected. Then one day outlook stopped sending emails but it could receive emails. I contacted aapt and they told me they didn't support outlook only express and there was nothing they could do. So I changed from outlook to Windows mail. I completed the set up which was identical to outlook and again I received the same problem and error message.....
Among the many difficulties I have experienced with Vista, a new affliction has recently occurred. I use Windows Mail, Vista's version of Outlook Express. When I open emails, and minimise Windows Mail or exit altogether, on my return all the opened emails have gone. They are not in the Deleted folder. They have just vanished.

My internet access is fine either wireless or hard wired directly to the router and my old XP PC works fine on the same connection. I have tried disabling the windows firewall and router firewall and also the anti virus, i have tried installing a different anti virus (avg) but all to no avail. I can import the email messages just fine, but not my 15 email accounts. I have created a folder and stored this onto the windows vista machine, named: Outlook Express Email Accounts.
When I go to: Tools => Accounts => Import. A box appears that says "Import Internet Account". I select one of the Outlook Express 6's *.iaf files and I constantly get this error: "The import did not complete because an error occurred." What's causing this and how do I fix this frustrating problem.

I have added Windows mail as an accepted program in Windows Firewall. I have unistalled Norton Virus. Ive removed the account twice and readded it. I have contacted support for Outlook, They say my anti virus program may need to be set up to accept Windows mail but I think Ive done that now by changing the Firewall. I read on here that maybe I should switch to a Windows live account but email address is a buisness account so can i just switch servers?
My email provider is Sky although I have chosen to use Outlook express for years. I have just bought a new laptop and have set up my windows mail account copying the settings from my Outlook account. However, not all emails seem to be coming through to my laptop, when I check my mail through Outlook there are maybe 5 new ones there but only one of those shows in my Windows mail. Then to add to the confusion if I try to access my emails through my Sky account there are some showing there that have not come through to Outlook or Windows.
