I have recently been receiving duplicate mail in my POP3 account. I receive about 3 or 4 of the same e-mail a day and it is getting really annoying. I have removed my anti-virus and do not have duplicate accounts. I don't know what to do.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up an account but when it gets to the POP3 & SMTP I'm not quite sure what to enter there. It's very hard for me to send out attachments or just general mail unless I have it. I'm using Windows Vista and I do have an hotmail email account. You can respond back to that email which is mz_nette2fine4u@hotmail.com I'll check it periodically to see if anyone has responded back to me.
View 9 Replies View RelatedCannot get Windows mail to connect to my Yahoo POP3 server. Contacted Yahoo and we installed telnet and successfully connected to the servers through there. Old computer had Outlook express connected to the same account and I had no problems. Have checked the setting numerous times to insure they are correct. Have tried different port 's and different configurations - get different error messages but still no luck. Have checked all the firewalls (only have one on) and it has been configured to let Windows Mail have full access.

I have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.
I have tried to set up an email acount with microsoft windows, but only got as far as receiving an error report. I filled in POP3 on the first part of the server dialogue box and SM(P?)T on the second box. These were complete random guesses as I have no idea what they mean or what the correct ones are, far less how to find them. Why do they have to make these systems so difficult? How do I find out this information?

3) Deleted and re-added my eMail account. My service provider says the problem is in my client, and I can pull my eMail up in their web-mail service. Also, I can still send messages.
After many months of trouble free use windows mail is no longer picking up mails from my primary email account with virgin.net. View 9 Replies View RelatedI am maintained Vista laptops for two elderly people and set them up on Internet Mail, they were on OE before. They like that it grabs contacts for them, the problem is that it duplicates them relentlessly: say Fred emails you often you get a Fred contact a (1) Fred, a (2) Fred, etc... For the life of me I can't find were to fix this, the knowledge base offers me the right choices but finds no documents. Does anybody have this problem? I can easily download Thunderbird for them but I'm trying to keep these laptops as simple as possible.

It is coincident that the problem occurred since i renewed my subscription to Macafee. However I have taken advice in these threads and disabled it and have tried "netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled" in cmd.exe but still to no avail. The error message is

About 1 in every 5 emails does not come in through Windows Mail. I know this is happening because I've set up a forwarding account Google Mail. Spam filter is not on so that's not the problem. It seems random so I receive/don't receive email from the same addresses. It's not affected by attachments.

View 4 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago, email from my cousin in Ireland stopped being received (I am in the USA) for no apparent reason. She has checked/verified my address that she is sending to and it is correct. I have checked/verified that there are no blocks or filters turned on that should prevent her email from coming thru. I have even checked to make sure that her domain "ie" for Ireland is not blocked from my email. I had previously been receiving her email with no problems and had made no changes to my email program or computer.
I have gone to her email address, right clicked and scrolled to "junk mail", then clicked on "add user to safe sender's list" and also "add user's domain to safe sender's list". On the specific day I do that, her emails will come thru. Then the next day, they no longer come thru and continue to disappear. She receives no error messages, nor do I. I never receive the emails. We have verified this by calling each other on the phone so I know she is sending multiple emails daily that I do not receive. I have contacted Comcast, but no solution to date. Have been using McAfee firewall and Norton anti-virus. All of my other email seems to be coming thru fine, it is just the email from my cousin in Ireland that I have not been receiving.
