Not Receiving And Sending E-mail From WINDOWS MAIL

Jun 20, 2009

There is something stopping me from receiving and sending e-mail from WINDOWS MAIL Everything else works good on my computer. If i go to the Internet and sent myself mail from there it works. What could be stopping it? I have eastlink security and i am thinking of going to avg. Do you have a link for free avg? I know this problem is not eastlink. I don't have ad-aware or any other virus program. I have Internet 8.

I have logon with secure authentication checked and outgoing server requiring authentication checked. on the Advanced tab I have tried with both the SSL boxes checked and unchecked.............

I am having major issues sending email. I am receiving messages, but cannot send anything out. Does anyone have an answer for this. I called Microsoft and they said it was a HP issue. They could help for $59, which I think is awful. I just purchased the computer yesterday an they are already pointing the finger at each other.

Windows Mail Not Sending & Receiving After Installing Avira AntiVirus

Apr 20, 2008

We were running Trend Micro as our antivirus, but when it expired I was told that Avira was a good one. I downloaded the free version and installed it on my computer. The first scan it did find a trojan virus, but said it was very minor and was just something that got info on our household. I quarantined the file. I then went in and uninstalled Trend Micro since I wouldn't need it anymore.

Whe I restarted my computer my Windows Mail would no longer work. I have multiple email accounts set up with it. It says connecting, receiving mail (45 messages) and then I get this error message: An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.gaeagraphics.com', Server: 'mail.gaeagraphics.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005 Then it goes on to do the same for my other mail account. An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop3.cecomet.net', Server: 'pop3.fairpoint.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005

I contacted my isp first to find out if there was a problem and after walking me through some things said that it was an issue with windows mail. So I uninstalled Avira. No change to windows mail. I did a system restore back to a week ago. No change to windows mail. It continues to give me the error message everytime I hit send & receive. Except .. tonight it let 1 message through, none of the rest, though

Sending And Receiving POP Mail

Sep 23, 2009

Following account setup for google mail I cannot send mail and this message appears: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I also cannot receive mail and this message appears: Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

I have tried this with AVG anti-virus on and off and "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is unchecked. What corrections can I make in Windows Mail to send and receive mail in this POP account?

Sending And Receiving Mail

Feb 28, 2009

My email is not functioning at all. If I try to send an email a login and password box appear several times while typing my message. Then the email never gets sent. It says there is an error. And when I try to send an email from yahoo to windows mail it says it fails. The people at Verizon says there is a fix for this on the Microsoft website. I cannot seem to find it.

Sending And Receiving Mail Can Not Working

May 13, 2008

Had no problems sending/receiving email on an att/bellsouth dsl account until I tried to set up windows mail to read an aol mail account. Now I am receiving this error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Emailing: joel and deb 004, joel and deb 002, joel and deb 003', Account: 'joelhutcheson', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E I removed the new aol account from the windows mail accounts to see if that would fix the problem but it didn't. I also disabled my AVAST antivirus from scanning outgoing mail but that didn't help either.

Receiving And Sending Mail Failed

Mar 23, 2008

Receiving and sending mail is sporadic. Get the following message when I use send/receive in windows mail:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.

Spent several hours on phone with Verizon, only to find they have no resolution and recommended I contact Microsoft. Have deleted the user account several times, rebooted the system, disabled AVG virus software. Can ping to the incoming server but not the outgoing server. In AVG it stated that port 25 was inactive, and I activated it, to no avail. Again, this problem is sporadic. When I first log on to my system (I'm using Vista home) I can usually receive and send emails, but after the initial run, it ceases to work.

Not Receiving Mail On Windows Mail

Apr 11, 2008

I've been redirecting my webmail to my Windows Mail on my p.c since November but since last week I've had issues. I get the following message:

Account: 'mail.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com', Server: 'mail.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 82.110.105.110 (82.110.105.110:110), connect error 10061', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

I've tried removing the email scanning from Norton to no avail and a couple of other suggested options, but nothing. When I shut down recently I had a big update install come through.

Sending E-mail With Windows Mail: Disappears And Does Not Get Sent

Apr 28, 2010

I have been using Windows Mail with Vista Home Premium 32 bit and Norton 360 for about two years now. All has worked very well, but lately every so often (not all the time) when I click send on an email it disappears and does not get sent, and a message comes up and says windows mail had a problem and to check windows for new updates. The computer has all new updates. So I have to create my email all over and click send again and then it goes. This is frustrating when it is a long email to someone and it is just gone. Where does it go? I can't find it anywhere. It's just gone.

Has this happened to anyone? I have turned off the antispam feature on Norton to see if this helps, I'll keep you updated as it may be days before it does it again. Like I said it only does it every once in awhile, specially when it is real important.

Sending Mail From Windows Mail Not Compatible

Mar 31, 2008

Reasons for not being able to send mail outbound using Windows Mail: Some say "Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton antivirus programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled."

Others say "it sounds like interference from a spyware/spamware program" - what nonsense! It seems for Microsoft it was the best of times, it was the worst of times when they launched Windows Vista.....

Windows Mail: Receiving Attachments Pop Up

Oct 19, 2009

I do have IE7 and understand that this problem is even worse if you downloaded IE RECEIVING ATTACHMENTS: When I open an email that hase an attachment, I click on the paper clip. What comes up is this. In the pop up box at the top is the IE Icon (never seen this before) and next to it is this AT100146.htm. Below that in the same pop up window is the attachement. In this case it was two jpg,s. In my old outlook express program, the jpg was active and the description following the jpg icon which describes what the jpg is is also active. With windows Mail, the description that follows the jpg icon is NOT active so when I click on the attachemnt, NOTHING pops up. When I try to save the jpg attachmet, it defaults to the IE Icon previously mentioned and when you go to where that was saved and try to open it, you get blue screen.

Can Not Receiving Windows Mail Inbox.

Feb 14, 2009

I have two websites that have 4 email addresses that I have forwared to my personal email inbox (Windows Mail). This way I can have all my emails in one place and I dont have to visit more than one spot to check emails. I am hosting with Network Solutions. I went online to Network Solutions and confirmed that I have set up the protocols so that all my website emails are being forwarded to my personal email address. Everything is set up correctly and I haven't had any problems in the last year until 2 days ago. I sent out test emails and nothing is coming into my personal email address. Nada. However, if i address and email directly to my personal email address, the email comes in and everything is fine. There seems to be a glitch with the website email addresses being forwarded to my personal email. Also, when I went online to Net. Solutions, the emails are not on the server there. It is a mystery. Just thought I'd put this topic out there and see if any Mr. or Mrs. Fix It would come along and put me out of my misery.

Windows Mail- Not Sending

Jun 6, 2008

I have recently purchased a new computer (Dell Inspiron ) running Windows desktop home premium. I transferred everything over from the old computer to the new and everything works splendidly, except Windows Mail. I am not for sure if this problem surfaced after a short period of using my new computer or if this was there from the get-go, but I cannot get my Windows mail to send. It receives just fine, on all accounts and sends fine on all accounts but my main one. I have a mail server with my domain hosting service and every time I attempt to send mail through this account I get the Windows security box that says logon to my mail server. I typed in username and password, click okay, and wait. The box pops back up and says logon again. Apparently for some reason it's not accepting my user name and password. I've gone through all the settings with tech support, including using the various ports they recommend. Still no go. I don't know what else I can do, I don't even know where the problem is emanating from, all I know is I cannot send my e-mail using my primary account.
