::Mailing Labels:: ::I use Windows Vista Home Premium and would like to print a sheet(s) of mailing labels with the same address using Avery 5260 format. I have tried to understand the help sections. When I click on Mailings>Labels single address to print and cannot find where I enter the 5260 format information. Can someone tell me the click sequence I should use?::
I have a Linksys wireless router, but I don't know how to find the IP address to configure it. I've had it for a few years now and can't find the documentation, but I changed the IP address from the standard one they always use. How can I find what it is?
I randomly chose the domain below to find out my ISP's external IP address. We want to be able to have someone in Illinios connect to a desktop computer in my basement. The IP address first on the list is the internet address my router uses: 192.168.0.1 C:Userspatrick>traceRt microsoft.com Tracing route to microsoft.com [207.46.197.32] over a maximum of 30 hops:
I have a typo in one of the email addresses I created. I corrected it using the edit feature, but the same typo appears when I create a new email message. Even though I have since deleted the email address I created, it will still appear when I try to send using the correct email address. I can't find that email address in my Contacts list to delete. (if this makes any sense)
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to find the mac address for my wireless card in vista. I'm having some difficulty as neither ipconfig /all nor wireless card properties from device manager seems to have the info. I know I could physically look at the card and get the number, but I would really like to learn how to find it through the software.
I followed a tip stating that you could remove the labels from icons on your Desktop by turning on the NumLock, holding down Alt and typing 0160 on the numbers keypad. I did this for several shortcuts and it worked fine. I also did it on two files, which also worked. Now I want to delete the 2 files and can't. I also can't rename them. I have moved the documents that were in them to new files, so the ones I can't delete are empty now. How do I either rename the files or delete them? My goal is to get rid of the two files.
drive labels disappeared in "My computer" icons still there. (you know, there is not "My" but let me call it like that for easier talk.) but shows well in view - detail or list something like that. So, I tested some tips. I also set a ShowDriveLettersFirst key in the regedit. still, I can't see drive labels. but they are shown in a dialog box of "save as..." does anybody know the solution or reason of this? can't see drive labels these 3 pics. but they show in this mode. and in this one(save as...) The drive letters come first because of the tip that I tested. c: drive has no label.(means "local disk" in korean. ) d: drive's label is "DATA". You might already have an inkling. I'm Korean. please forgive my bad english. and characters in those pictures are korean letters "Hangul". I'm really really sorry because I can't prepare english version.
Both Windows Vista and Windows XP have a well-hidden ability to display thumbnail images with no labels. This feature is probably most useful in a folder containing just pictures. When you invoke it by accident, it can definitely make life difficult. To display the contents of a folder as thumbnails with no filenames, simply hold down a Shift key while switching the folder from Details view to Thumbnails view in XP or to one of the several Icons views in Vista. In my experience, this action is a bit less responsive in Vista—you may have to try several times. But clearly it wouldn't be hard to invoke this feature accidentally. So how do you get back the filenames? First, make sure the problem folder is currently set to display in one of the filename-free thumbnail views. Now click on some other folder, hold down a Shift key, and click back on the folder whose filenames you want to recover. Here again I found that in Vista I sometimes had to try several times. Now that you know how to turn this feature on and off at will, perhaps you'll find it's actually useful.
having problems emailing pics using windows photo gallery. once i choose a pic then click email, attach , then enter email address and press send. i get an error, asking for the right server type. its says error pop3. how do i change this to the correct server type?
I have a very long excel spreadsheet with email address in one column. With the older outlook product I was always able to cut and paste the column into the TO field and send mass emailings. Now that I am using winmail I get an error when I try to do this: CHECK NAMES: no matches found ........I have a clunky work around-I have added semicolins to each email address in the excel sheet but this of course is not a useful permanent fix. Can someone tell me how to turn off the "check names" feature or if this is not possible, how winmail can be used with excel to send mass mailings.
All the help screens tell me to click on the 'Contacts" icon on the toolbar and this will show an option "New Contact Group" to set up contact groups for mail. Well it does not! I am a very long time computer user with years of experience and never had this problem with Outlook Xpress. I know how to set up groups but cannot find the path to it. I have Vista Ultimate.
I used to open a picture from Windows Photo Gallery and click E-mail and Windows Mail would automatically open for me to send the photo to my contacts. Now when I click E-mail, I get a dialogue box asking what file size to attach it as, I choose, and it closes. How can I bring back this feature?
In my 64-bit installation, the print spooler server suddenly stopped running (and will not restart). I've tried cleaning out registry keys (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint), deleting the files out of Windows (C:WindowsSystem32spool) to no avail. The system log contains many of these:Error Service Control Manager Eventlog Provider7034None The application log contains these:WarningSpoolerSpoolss1035NoneThe print spooler failed to load print provider localspl.dll. This can occur because of system instability or a lack of system resources.ErrorSpoolerSpoolss1027None The system failed to initialize the local print provider: Error 0. running vista 64 SP1 RTM cannot print from IE nor print preview unless I turn UAC off in control panel. Cannot print even if opening IE as admin. (some sort of error message about C:/users/username/appdata/local/temp/low/ and some files therein.) Note, on a different machine with vista 32 SP1 beta2 refresh (never got around to installing SP1 RTM on this box) - UAC enabled and no print problem at all
We have recently got new hardware and upgraded to Vista. We have also just changed to fully networked printing. We are having some printing funnies, but mainly when printing from Excel - no idea why. Here is a selection of the printing problems we have had:
File-Print: Print dialog does not appear File-Print/Print: Does not print, no printing message File-Print/Print: Looks like it prints to printer (see printing message), but nothing prints out...........................................................................
Been trying for hours to use Xbox 360 to access music and other files on my compuer, using both Drive address and network address. ALL files can be seen successfully on WMC on the Vista computer but nothing on the Xbox 360 -- except some photos on my son's XP machine (that worked easily).Could really use a simple solution to this please!
in Window XP, i used to be able to select full address to be displayed in the address bar. But for Window Vista, I could not find the way to do it. e.g. instead of showing D:Document, i want to show \sapsgsmapsnap01document. I want to send the link to my colleague to access directly to destination folder.
Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.
Need directions to remove a former friend's email address from my address bar. Whenever I create a message to someone with an address starting with the same first letter, his email address also shows up.
Vista Home Premium SP1. Is it possible to use more than one device in a single USB port? The reason I ask is that I have five USB ports, four at the back and one at the front. As the one at the front is more accessible, I use this for a Joystick I occasionally use. Can I also use this same port for another device, in this case an MP3 player, not at same time?
it may sound but 8gb ram (older modules ddr2 pc6400) isn't enough for my Photoshop work. I was wondering if it's possible to put in the remaining good sticks back in. 12gb (x3) in total , I'm guessing my mboard would drop the speed to single speed ram instead of dual speed ram....Ram capacity is more import than Ram speed as my images are hitting the Photoshop scratch which is bottlenecking my system.
I have Vista Home Premium. I have been using Microsoft Backup & Restore for a few weeks. I am backing up to an external hard drive. My two questions are: (1) Can I restore a single file? (2) Or must I restore everything to get that one file?
I purchased COD5 yesterday and cannot play in Single player mode. I was told that the problem coudl be between my graphics card (Geforce 8800gt) and my network card (Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0). I think I have the latest drivers installed. I also downloaded the latest directx drivers as well.
We are all familliar with "Explore" and the Tree structure on the left side, vs "Open", which opens a folder in a single window. Normally, in Explore, as you click on the folders you travel thru the tree and can pretty quickly navigate thru the system, whereas with Open, you can get there, but it isn't quite as easy if you take a wrong turn to back out & recover. Explore is a good name for that option, as that's what it's best for. It also means you don't have to have two windows open to move files, as you can drag to any folder in the nav pane with relative ease. With Open you're better off with multiple open windows for those file relocation tricks..................
Quote: Rumored pictures have popped up of ATI's DX11 Radeon HD 5850, or at least a variant of it. From what we can see, there's an incredibly long PCB for a single-GPU accelerator, an elaborate monolithic cooler, and a single 6-pin power connector. Click this bar to view the full image. After installing Windows Vista I get a single network adapter assigned two IP addresses which causes a conflict everytime I start up. I disable and enable the adapter and the problem goes away. Then I can connect to the internet.
