Can't Find Incoming/outgoingemail Servers
Sep 23, 2009When trying to create my email I couldn't find my Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) server name or my Outgoing email server (SMTP) name.
I can't find my email server providers either so how do I find out what to put as my email servers?

Jun 7, 2008I have a typo in one of the email addresses I created. I corrected it using the edit feature, but the same typo appears when I create a new email message. Even though I have since deleted the email address I created, it will still appear when I try to send using the correct email address. I can't find that email address in my Contacts list to delete. Sep 18, 2009I have no idea what any of this is about, all very confusing and frustrating. Im trying to send an email to the school from a site i have to send it from. And it says to set it up but i dont know what the incoming e-mail server type is. And dont know what IMAP or POP3 is and what goes in there for the incoming mail server. As well as the outgoing e-mail server name (SMTP) I'm so clueless and usually confused when it comes to technical stuff on cumputers.

May 15, 2008Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.

Apr 24, 2009Does anyone know how to put a cap on how many emails I can receive? In other words, if I were to want no more than 50 emails, how do I set that up? I have searched everywhere. When I had XP, it held a certain amount and then would bounce back to sender saying "mailbox full". Is this possible for Windows Mail on Vista Home Premium 64 bit?

Apr 26, 2009Is it possible to obtain a comprehensive listing of servers and interpreters that are a normal part of the Windows Vista Operating System? These are the only kinds of programs I expect the Security updates to be fixing.
Servers = Programs included with the OS which accepts commands from the Internet or LAN external to My Computer. Interpreters = Programs which will execute any kind of source code whatsoever like HyperTextMarkUpLanguage HTML or Basic or C+ or Fortran or whatever.
I know of no other kinds of programs unless you can tell me now that may work ndependent of User Control. If I could ID these rouge programs running in the background it would be better than the security updates themselves.

May 7, 2009Recently some default security policies has been changed on my Vista, apparently as the result of upgrades to my system.
1: I can no longer activate an URL received in an incoming email directly but must copy the URL to the address bar in my Internet Explorer. This makes sense and I can live with that.
2: I discover that I can no longer open some of my word documents "created in an earlier version of Microsoft Office". The message refers to registry policy settings and the help system refers to a Microsoft knowledge base article 922850 that leads me nowhere useful.

Mar 23, 2008i have imported my contacts into windows mail ok. windows mail will not autofill email address's. on outlook express, yahoo, aol, when you start typing the email address you get a drop down menu with a selection of address's. i have ticked the automatically fill email address's in the options. all my contacts are in windows mail, i can see them if i open contacts. someone please help. more info:- it appears that if I have sent an email, by typing in the full address, it remembers that address and the autofill works ok for the contacts that i have "manually" sent an email. i have over 200 contacts.
