Lost Pairing Ability With MS Bluetooth Mouse

Aug 3, 2009

Upto about 10 days ago my MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 paired with the built-in BT of my HP tx1000 series tablet notebook just fine, but at one point the notebook no longer recognized the mouse and zince then it does not show up in the BT devices screen when I try to add the mouse manually. The OS is Vista Home Premium and the notebook uses the Broadcom 6.2 driver. I know the mouse is OK because I can pair it with the BT on my desktop PC. I figure the problem was caused by one of the automatic Vista updates but it's too late to go to do a restore that far. I just about tried everything except HP's email support that is pretty worthless, based on my prior experience with them.

Seem To Have Lost The Ability To Receive Mail

Sep 11, 2009

just come home from work, check emails as usual, however get the following error message: The host 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk', Server: 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

I haven't changed anything since I changed ISP to BT, then 'mac' helped me out by suggesting changing the SMTP because then I couldn't send mail, I have checked that and nothings changed there so hoping 'mac' will respond to this question.

SP2 Made My Bluetooth Mouse Undiscoverable

Jun 13, 2009

I've been using the MS Bluetooth Notebook 5000 mouse with my HP notebook that has a built-in bluetooth transmitter. Though the automatic discovery never worked between the two but after manually adding the mouse after each bootup, the mouse worked fine before the SP2 upgrade. Since then the mouse doesn't show up in the paring window at all.

Bluetooth, Mouse Stopped Working

Sep 8, 2009

I've started to get some problems with bluetooth on my Dell Vostro laptop (running Vista Home Premium). Up until about 3 weeks ago my bluetooth mouse was working fine and I was able to connect to my phone via bluetooth. One day, the mouse stopped working and I wasn't able to reconnect through all the normal procedures. I initially thought it might be the mouse, so I got hold of another bluetooth mouse that is fine with my office XP computer.

I've even uninstalled and reinstalled all the bluetooth software and drivers from the Dell website, but no success. There is no reaction from the laptop when I switch the mouse and click the little button to start discovery. When I try to initiate a connection from my phone, a message pops up on the laptop saying 'a device is trying to connect, please click on this message'. I click on the message, but nothing happens. Has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Bluetooth Mouse Looses Connection After Sleep State

Mar 23, 2008

I have a very annoying problem with my Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth. When after putting my computer in sleep mode the bluetooth mouse does not reconnect. The only thing I can do is pull the batteries out of the mouse and put them back in and only then it decides to reconnect.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit with the latest 64-bit MS Wireless IntelliMouse drivers. When logging onto the computer after completely shutting down the computer (not sleep mode) the mouse reconnects just fine.

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 - Not Connecting

Sep 22, 2009

Until today, this mouse was working nearly perfectly. There was one incident when the mouse stopped working with my computer, and after a restart, it was fine. However, today it stopped working, and I restarted my computer only to find that my computer was now asking for a pairing number when I tried to connect the mouse. I have no clue what this mouse's pairing number is or why I would need it when it was working just fine earlier without one. I checked the bottom of the mouse to see if I could find a pairing number, but nothing was to be found, and I do not have the box or the items that came with the mouse.

How do I connect my mouse? Note: The mouse shows up when I search for bluetooth devices, but the problem arises from the fact that my computer now asks for a pairing number to connect the device, a number I do not have. In addition, it was working just fine earlier today, so I do not believe it is a software issue. If anyone could shed any light on this situation, I would be grateful. I'm at a loss of what to do.

Post Your Chipset Driver Versions And Sleep Mode Settings, Bluetooth Mouse And Keyboard Crash

Apr 24, 2008

For all you 680i users running Vista 32bit AND successfully using sleep mode, please post your settings here... "Successfully" means that:

1. Your system actually wakes up and none of your devices, such as mouse, keyboard, usb drives, bluetooth, and other devices, etc. are disconnected and/or malfunctioning...

2. In particular, are you still connected to the internet without resetting
your network adapter (presuming you were connected before bedtime and
presuming you're using the on-board NIC)

post your chipset driver versions and sleep mode settings... My settings are listed below and my system WON'T SLEEP "successfully"... bluetooth mouse and keyboard crash, and my internet connection is trashed:.....

USB Mouse Lost Configuration Failed

Jun 17, 2008

This problem happened after I installed Vista SP1. Here's my setup: Vista Ultimate 32bit with SP1 USB Microsoft Trackball Explorer (directly connected - does not go through a hub) I used the Microsoft IntelliPoint software (version 6.1) to map the keys differently than the default settings. Before SP1 this worked fine. After SP1 the trackball still works but my custom settings are lost. So I opened up the Microsoft IntelliPoint software and was presented with the following dialog: "Some mouse settings might not work until you connect a Microsoft mouse to a USB port on your computer or set up a Microsoft mouse that uses Bluetooth technology."

Next step was to Google for answers. There were several suggestions, so I started trying them:
1) Unplug and replug the USB Trackball - FAILED
2) Remove the USB Trackball from the device manager, unplug and replug it (so the OS sees it again) - FAILED
3) Remove the USB Trackball from the device manager, reboot the computer - FAILED
4) Remove Microsoft's IntelliPoint software - FAILED, it starts to remove the software but then fails with the following error: "Setup Error, Setup was interrupted before Microsoft IntelliPoint software could be completely installed. To complete installation at another time, run setup again." This is a bit strange since I was removing the software. Oh well............

SP1 Breaks Switching Users Ability

Mar 18, 2008

Before SP1, I use to be able to switch between users with no problems, now with SP1, the second user will never load right. It dosent matter which user logs in first, the second one will always be messed up and the only way to fix it is to restart. Logging off dosent fix it, the second user never works right unless you restart. This is a very bad thing for me, I need to be able to switch users on the fly.

Missing Ability To Create Folders

Nov 4, 2009

i am unable to make new folders via right click. When i do right click and select new, the submenu only says (empty) in gray. I have no options on creating a new folder, file etc. Ive tried using the folder fix registry thing to no available correction. Also, im not sure if its related, but 1/2 of my start menu is missing as well.

When i click start, all the immediate programs in the list are empty, its just a giant white box, but if i choose like programs etc stuff shows up, what gives? I run the avg free antivirus and malwarebytes as well and neither find anything. Id rather not do a restore either as im not sure really when it started.

Ability To Select Double Sided Printing

Mar 23, 2008

1. Do you have Print Preview that allows you to select which pages are printed and cancel the pages you do not want printed?
2. Do you have the ability to select double sided printing -- print all the odd pages and then print all the even pages?
3. Select the print quality, no matter what is selected in the Control Panel?

I have a Epson CX6400 and had the features listed above with Windows XP, but lost them with Vista, so I'm thinking about buying a new CX8400, because Epson is not going to write code for a new Print Preferences Window for my CX6400.

Repair Install: Interfere With System's Ability To Multi Boot?

Jun 29, 2008

I partitioned a new hard drive and formatted it using my Windows XP Home Ed. SP2 Install CD. I then installed Win XP. I then installed Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit on the other partition. ( I have two partitions on a single drive, C: and D This has been working great for me for the last 5 months. Today I have a reason to perform a repair install on just the Windows XP partition. I have performed a Win XP repair install successfully in the past using the XP SP2 install CD but never when my system was set up as dual boot. If I perform a repair install using my WinXP install disk to repair the Windows XP installation, will this leave my Vista partition untouched? Will it at all interfere with the system's ability to multi boot? I'm not very concerned about not being able to boot up into Windows XP but it's extremely critical that my system's ability to boot up into Vista is not compromised.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing Vista's complete lack in ability to move, copy and delete files in a timely fashion? It's a well reported bug, but just wondering how many *real* Vista users see it. Basically Vista takes forever to delete large quanties of files, or even movecopy them. Aparently there is a fix on the way.

I tried installing the K-Lite Standard Codec pack, but either I did it wrong or it isn't enough.

Fax & Scan Over Bluetooth

Mar 23, 2008

I can't get WFS to successfully use the fax modem on my mobile phone over Bluetooth. The modem and Bluetooth connection are working fine outside WFS and I can successfully connect to a VPN over the internet using the mobile phone's modem via Bluetooth. I just can't think what could possibly be the problem. Has anyone else tried to set up their mobile phone as a fax modem over Bluetooth?

By the way, my carrier is T-mobile. I have already called them and they have confirmed that fax and data is enabled on my account. I'm using a Nokia 6233 but I don't think that should be relevant because I can already us the modem over Bluetooth to connect to the internet.

Update To Bluetooth In SP2 Fixes It

May 27, 2009

The update to Bluetooth in SP2 fixes it: now it does not work. Networking has been improved as well: I have been staring at the spinning circle for more than 5 minutes while trying to change sharing permissions on a folder. Actually I am not changing sharing, because according to Vista the file is already shared with everyone. The problem is that no one else on the network can see the file.

Microsoft has also addressed shutdown: now my laptop hangs and will not shut down unless I manually kill the power. I have migrated one of my main machines to Windows 7 already: Win7 appears to be the real deal. How, after all these years, can Microsoft still turn the offal that is Vista into an ever worse compilation of woe and misery? I sure hope the uninstall works: if I have to reformat and reinstall I am moving to the Win 7 RC.
