Blue Screen/cannot Open Minidump File
Mar 3, 2010For the past week I have been having problems where (while playing a MMO) my computer suddenly freezes, screen goes black. I cant do anything other than reboot (a couple of times my pc has automatically rebooted). Support for the game I play suggested re-installing graphics drivers to no avail. When I reboot and I look in the problem signatute,

BCP1: 0000000000000001.............When I try to look at the minidump file, I get a access to C:WindowsMinidump is denied - even though I am logged in as an administrator. Im not even sure which program to open a minidump file with.Can anyone offer me any advice, firstly on what this bluescreen BCC 333 is, and secondly how I can open the minidump so I can find out more!
No Minidump File Located
Jun 11, 2009I am trying to help a friend with BSOD issues and when I go look for the minidump in C:/windows I find no minidump file folder. Is this something I need to create for him or is it just hidden.

May 15, 2010Whenever I request a "File|Open" or "File|Save" from any application, the mini-Windows-Explorer dialog box that opens freezes and hangs the entire application. Happens with almost all applications. Not limited to just Microsoft programs. It does not matter if I like change the download folder or if I rt click always the same.
Back when it was under warranty Hp tells me to just restore to original settings. I hate to do that. But I am about to see that this might be the only fix for it. (But I am hoping not.) I think it started a long time ago when I was changing the USB ports I used for my external Hard drive and it changed drive letter. (maybe maybe not.. just seems I remember that being something that had happened when I first recall things hanging...) anyway I have all drives in the place I want them now and this issue still happens even if I dont have that external drive plugged in.

Apr 28, 2008Whenever I open a .pdf file, whether in Acrobat or within a web browser, my computer suddenly goes into low-color (8-bit) mode, and I have to go to personalization/display settings to correct it. I have the most recent version of Acrobat, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but this still happens every time I open a .pdf! Is there anything I can do to stop this, and prevent it from happening in the future?

Apr 4, 2010I've seen similar post on this and tried to follow the replies for the fix but didn't work for me so I thought I'd post my scenerio. I downloaded some software from a company named X10. It's for monitoring security cameras from a remote location. The software is name Vangaurd. I'm trying to uninstall it but I keep getting "cannot open log install. log file". I notice there is not a folder for this in my program files, therefore I do not see an "unistall". Does anybody know how I can uninstall this? I am using Windows Vista.

This worked great for a bit but now whenever I try opening any program/file it asks me which program I want to use to open it. This includes .exe files, along with things like IE, iTunes. Windows Media Player, and many others. I have downloaded a patch that is supposed to fix this, but when I go to open the file (which is a .exe one) it once again asks me which program I want to open it with.

Mar 26, 2008I cannot open pps files that I get as an attachment in an e-mail. I get the message "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel."by editing the registry renaming Show to Open. I still get the same message when trying to open the attachment. If I save the attachment to the desktop or a folder, I am able to open it. I use PowerPoint Viewer 2003 and my OS is Vista Home Premium with SP1. Before I installed SP1, I had to re-image my hard drive. Previous to the re-image I was able to open a pps attachment from an e-mail because before the re-image I had edited the registry as indicated in the above link. My question is - why doesn't this fix work now?
