View 9 RepliesVista x64 business random computer freeze up issue finally solved: New video driver installed, end of november, new Vista updates in December, New Avast software installed December machine still freezes ONLY when connected to the internet with the Linksys wireless card so the answer is what is the difference between normal bootup and safe mode boot up? and the answer is services. There is a services conflict when the wireless network is activated If you have this problem, here is how I solved it, your mileage may vary!
Disable the following services:
Internet Connection Sharing
Multimedia Class Scheduler (Manual)
Network Connections
Offline Files
Portable Device Enumerator (Manual)
Server (Manual)
I also disabled almost all Vista tasks in the Task Scheduler, as I am not sure if a Task was interfering with the internet connection, though I doubt it. . . Now, when I boot up normally, the mainframe stays booted! must have taken about 12-15 hours of sporadic weekend hours to get it narrowed down. . .

i installed new Intel E6750 processor and now i'm getting bluescreen.. sometimes at startup and sometimes after using computer for few minutes and it's never the same reason.. memorycheck says that i have some kinda hardware problem but my motherboard should support new processor. i have Vista 32-bit, Asus Commando motherboard, 4 x Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN ddr2 (total 4 GB), XFX GeForce 7800 GTX. with my previous processor Pentium D 3.00 GHz everything is fine, Vista runs bit slow sometimes but that's normal.

I believe the problem lies in the USB Flash Drive I've been using, though I am not completely sure. Every time I plug in the flash drive, a screen comes up saying that it is damaged, and must be scanned/fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot scan/fix it because it is "in use" when it's plugged in (or so it says). I used it many times with the "fix it" window popping up without problems, so I didn't see any issues coming up in the near future. I was only using Chrome for website browsing, when I decided to plug in my flash drive to transfer some files. RIGHT after I plugged it in, the Blue Screen showed up. And the only thing I recently installed was "PerformanceTest v7.0" which benchmarks my computer's performance. I just uninstalled it though. Lastly, I was told to .rar a minidump file, but I cannot find anything in the minidump folder.
A friend has a Lenovo laptop running Vista Home Premium. Right now, when booting to Vista the PC bluescreens and starts the boot process over again. This happens in normal as well as safemode. When in safemode the last file loaded is DISKCRC.SYS (probably just the last SYS file that would normally load). After a few seconds the bluescreen occurs and the laptop restarts. I don't have the details from the bluescreen yet. There have been no changes to the laptop.
I haven't had time to do a deep inspection, but BIOS settings are all correct and trying to boot to the last known good configuration doesn't change anything. I don't see an option to not restart on bluescreen from safe/normal mode boot screen. Of course Lenovo won't send out a Windows disc and one was never created when the laptop was purchased, so I currently don't have a disc that I can reload the laptop with.
Vista Business Works six months no problem. Now, sometimes gives blue screen on startup. Shows hsxhwazl.sys. Sr. Google says it is a Conexent file for

any fullscreen 3d app instantly crashes my system, giving the bluescreen. Im currently running the 196.21 drivers from nvidia because with the latest drivers the crashes occured even more often(at vista startup!). I tried a clean new driverinstall, didnt work. Im working with vista home basic x64 and GeForce 9800 GX2. If there is any more info you need, ask away, ill be ckecking in regularly.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Vista machine is suffering from repeated bluescreen crashes, caused by a variety programs, but the usual running program is ntoskrnl.exe, although I think it 's another driver which I haven't been able to identify causing the problem. I have been getting bluescreen previously and did a test using MEMTEST86+ and found error. So I sent my Laptop to HP Center and they checked the RAM and found that there is no problem with the RAM and Harddisk. So they replaced the motherboard, after that I reformatted my laptop and reinstalled Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 with all latest updates and I checked using MEMTEST86+ again (boot version) and no error found.
Its the third day reinstalled my OS with latest driver and bios, now I am still getting bluescreen. Even the technician at the HP center blamed my Windows previously but I already reformatted my laptop. Why am I still getting bluescreen?
Here I attached all my minidump! It contains 3 minidump. Please help me, I am working everyday and I do not have time to send it over to HP center for checking. I am only free at night where HP center is closed already. I know I can trust the help from this forum.
Just recently bought and installed a new processor AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+ AM2 and flashed bios because my motherboard had difficulties to recognize the processor. After this im getting bluescreen with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL constantly after comp has been running for a while. So go to the store and buy a new motherboard or? I have also tried to flash several versions of bios but that only made things worse.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched thoroughly for this but could not find an aswer to this problem I'm having on my laptop. I've had a BSOD twice now within the last month. After the first one, I had to do a complete re-install as system files were damaged. I thought it must've been some virus, but apparently it's not, as I've done a new install and it happened again. This time so far it's seems ok after the reboot though.
The funny thing is that the system running extremely well otherwise - there are no other problems, slowdowns, freezes, hangs, nothing like that. Here's what I was doing just before the BSOD: (on both occasions, the circumstances were EXACTLY the same!) -I was surfing the net with IE8
-other programs running in the background: utorrent, Total Commander, Notepad As I say, both times I was doing the same: reading some forum in IE8 with exactly the same apps running in the background and then suddenly bang!..........
When I use the CD drive, it would open and bluescreen the comp. This is a new issue, it only happened today. I restarted and then tried to update drivers(they were the newest and vista compatible drivers, and they have worked fine for months) to no avail. I then un-installed the drives and tried to reinstall them. Vista bluescreened right away not allowing me to re-install them. On every start-up try from then on, it would get to the welcome screen and then bluescreen right away. Safe mode is the same way, loads the drivers then blue screens. I had to remove the cd-roms to boot and then check for any soultions.
View 7 Replies View RelatedComputer freezes while i'm in the middle of something, the mouse pointer will get "stuck" for 3-4 seconds, then the screen goes black (but the power is still on). I get no message, and nothing works except for holding down the power button to turn off the pc. When I restart there is no record of any problem in the problem history.
View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I update Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 using the Windows update after a restart I get a blue screen. I have to go into safe mode (sometimes the updates are finished at this point when going to safe mode) and in safe mode reboot again and after that all is fine. The updates work, Vista runs fine. It happens every single time I do an update that requires a reboot at the end (Defender definitions update doesnt result in a blue screen).
I would like to fix this before I update to SP2. I have downloaded SP2 but not updated to it. I've only let the computer prepare for updating to SP2 but after this I choose not to proceed. Even after this I get the blue screen. All my drivers and Dell software should be up to date. I've attached the bluescreen message I get each time (don't know if it's exactly the same every time) and some error report Windows gave after restarting from the blue screen....
