Bluescreen After DISKCRC.SYS...

Sep 15, 2009

A friend has a Lenovo laptop running Vista Home Premium. Right now, when booting to Vista the PC bluescreens and starts the boot process over again. This happens in normal as well as safemode. When in safemode the last file loaded is DISKCRC.SYS (probably just the last SYS file that would normally load). After a few seconds the bluescreen occurs and the laptop restarts. I don't have the details from the bluescreen yet. There have been no changes to the laptop.

I haven't had time to do a deep inspection, but BIOS settings are all correct and trying to boot to the last known good configuration doesn't change anything. I don't see an option to not restart on bluescreen from safe/normal mode boot screen. Of course Lenovo won't send out a Windows disc and one was never created when the laptop was purchased, so I currently don't have a disc that I can reload the laptop with.

BlueScreen Of Death

Feb 3, 2010

I was directed here after a thread I made on the notebookreview.com forums because they said I would be able to get some help here regarding my first BlueScreen of Death. I am running.

*Lenovo T400

*Vista Home Premium 32bit

I believe the problem lies in the USB Flash Drive I've been using, though I am not completely sure. Every time I plug in the flash drive, a screen comes up saying that it is damaged, and must be scanned/fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot scan/fix it because it is "in use" when it's plugged in (or so it says). I used it many times with the "fix it" window popping up without problems, so I didn't see any issues coming up in the near future. I was only using Chrome for website browsing, when I decided to plug in my flash drive to transfer some files. RIGHT after I plugged it in, the Blue Screen showed up. And the only thing I recently installed was "PerformanceTest v7.0" which benchmarks my computer's performance. I just uninstalled it though. Lastly, I was told to .rar a minidump file, but I cannot find anything in the minidump folder.

Repeated Bluescreen Crashes

Aug 31, 2009

My Vista machine is suffering from repeated bluescreen crashes, caused by a variety programs, but the usual running program is ntoskrnl.exe, although I think it 's another driver which I haven't been able to identify causing the problem. I've checked memory in memtest86 and all is ok. The PC can go a couple of months without crashing and then I can get several crashes in a day.

Bluescreen OxOOOOOO1A And OxOOOOOO24

Nov 26, 2009

I just have had the misfortune to Bluescreen. However, I am able to start up in safe mode, but this crashes within 5~7 minutes. I managed to capture this error code from a normal startup, just after logging in: *** STOP: OxOOOOOO8E (OxC0000005, Ox8DCE892E, Ox88O5D6AC, OxOOOOOOOO)

In safe mode, my computer would power off shortly after bluescreening. I managed to capture two fragments of two unique error codes, though: OxOOOOOO1A and OxOOOOOO24 Also, when in safe mode, I was given this information on the crash:

Locale ID: 1033

BCP2: BCB44910
BCP3: 8CB446OC

Some related files were listed to be:

C:WindowsMinidump
C:WindowsAppdataLocalTemp

Also, my computer froze during login and boot on two separate occasions.

BlueScreen: Using MEMTEST86+ And Found Error

Oct 8, 2009

I have been getting bluescreen previously and did a test using MEMTEST86+ and found error. So I sent my Laptop to HP Center and they checked the RAM and found that there is no problem with the RAM and Harddisk. So they replaced the motherboard, after that I reformatted my laptop and reinstalled Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 with all latest updates and I checked using MEMTEST86+ again (boot version) and no error found.

Its the third day reinstalled my OS with latest driver and bios, now I am still getting bluescreen. Even the technician at the HP center blamed my Windows previously but I already reformatted my laptop. Why am I still getting bluescreen?

Here I attached all my minidump! It contains 3 minidump. Please help me, I am working everyday and I do not have time to send it over to HP center for checking. I am only free at night where HP center is closed already. I know I can trust the help from this forum.

Event Name: BlueScreen - On Home Premium

Nov 10, 2009

I've searched thoroughly for this but could not find an aswer to this problem I'm having on my laptop. I've had a BSOD twice now within the last month. After the first one, I had to do a complete re-install as system files were damaged. I thought it must've been some virus, but apparently it's not, as I've done a new install and it happened again. This time so far it's seems ok after the reboot though.

The funny thing is that the system running extremely well otherwise - there are no other problems, slowdowns, freezes, hangs, nothing like that. Here's what I was doing just before the BSOD: (on both occasions, the circumstances were EXACTLY the same!) -I was surfing the net with IE8

-other programs running in the background: utorrent, Total Commander, Notepad As I say, both times I was doing the same: reading some forum in IE8 with exactly the same apps running in the background and then suddenly bang!..........

CD-ROM Drives Bluescreen On Startup/use/removal

Mar 31, 2008

When I use the CD drive, it would open and bluescreen the comp. This is a new issue, it only happened today. I restarted and then tried to update drivers(they were the newest and vista compatible drivers, and they have worked fine for months) to no avail. I then un-installed the drives and tried to reinstall them. Vista bluescreened right away not allowing me to re-install them. On every start-up try from then on, it would get to the welcome screen and then bluescreen right away. Safe mode is the same way, loads the drivers then blue screens. I had to remove the cd-roms to boot and then check for any soultions.

Bluescreen Everytime Update 64bit SP1

Jun 2, 2009

Every time I update Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 using the Windows update after a restart I get a blue screen. I have to go into safe mode (sometimes the updates are finished at this point when going to safe mode) and in safe mode reboot again and after that all is fine. The updates work, Vista runs fine. It happens every single time I do an update that requires a reboot at the end (Defender definitions update doesnt result in a blue screen).

I would like to fix this before I update to SP2. I have downloaded SP2 but not updated to it. I've only let the computer prepare for updating to SP2 but after this I choose not to proceed. Even after this I get the blue screen. All my drivers and Dell software should be up to date. I've attached the bluescreen message I get each time (don't know if it's exactly the same every time) and some error report Windows gave after restarting from the blue screen....

Bluescreen With Memory Dump On Startup

Jul 29, 2009

I have a new Dell Studio with a Intel Core Duo, 4 GB of Ram, 320 GB HD, and am running vista 64 bit as my main OS. I have had this problem before. If I leave it unplugged long enough for the battery to die when I go to boot the next time I'll get a blue screen and a memory dump before I even get to the password prompt. In the past, the quick fix I used was to load the recovery counsole and do a system restore. I need to find what the cause of the problem is to further prevent and because I can no longer get to the recovery counsole. I recsently partitioned my hard drive into three partitians. A primary partitian that I run vista 64 on and keep most of my documents. The other two partitians I loaded with windows 7 RC and Server 2008 RC, both of which I am doing tseting with. My issue now is that when I try to load the recovery counsole, it takes me back to the top of the boot load menu (where I can pick which OS I want to load.)
