User of Windows Mail client. I have set up HTML format for e-mails but I can't insert image from clipboard directly into the body of message. Why when MS Outlook this supports? I know that Thunderbird doesn't allow it as well but WinMail is he "Microsoft" product isn't it? If I receive a message with images attached than all of this are showed inside the body automatically. Why? I'm used to open it manually from attachment.
View 4 RepliesI am running Vista x64, installed maybe 2 years ago.It seems to be running fine except I can no longer use the cut/copy/paste functionality.I ran sfc /verifyonly and Vista says nothing is wrong.To test,I open Notepad and type in a word.I highlight and right-click on the word and select "cut" but nothing happens (no errors, either).CTRL-X also does nothing.I can select "copy" but it's hard to say if that's working or not (probably not, if "cut" isn't working).With nothing in the clipboard, "paste" is grayed out and is not selectable.In Excel,I get the "cannot empty the clipboard" error, but forum posts seem to indicate that is an Excel weirdness and not particularly Windows-related.Here's a really weird thing:I can still use cut/copy/paste without issues in a MS Virtual PC instance.No problems there.It's running on the same machine.I rebooted and it worked again for a bit.Now it's not working again.

View 5 Replies View Related64-bit Vista Home Premium. I just tried to view the contents of the Vista clipboard and discovered that I couldn't do it. I did some research and read that a few people got around this by copying clipbrd.exe from their XP system and dropping it into Vista's system32 folder, but there were apparently issues in so doing. Is there any way I can view the clipboard contents?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received zipped files via FTP. I extracted them and brought them to a C:folder. I have three choices: a CD, a Web or a LMS version. I cannot open any of the key HTML file in them. The choice is either player.html or index.html. I can view the source code but keep getting blocked. I tell Vista to allow blocked content. Nothing. I am the administrator. I started fooling with the Active X and Scripted security features since this is the warning I receive when trying to open the HTLM file. I enabled everything you aren't supposed to, received the dire warnings but still cannot access the content. I put everything back to default (because the dire warnings are scarey!) I am using Vista Home Premium. I am desperate to open any of these three files as I have a job using them next week.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a really strange problem on my VISTA home premium PC. I have a number of HTML files stored in documents folder, but when I try to edit the HTML file in notepad I get the following error message: Cannot create the file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct.
File and path are correct because I just opened it from the documents folder. What makes it strange is that if I change the extension from HTML to TXT I can edit and save without any issue, but once I change back to HTML I lose the ability to save any edits. Also, if I copy the HTML file to another folder such as desktop or C: root, I can edit without any issues. I've checked the properties of the folder and file and haven't found anything out of the ordinary. Searched the MS KB and haven't turned up anything.
Anybody notice how if you put URLs in HTML emails, they don't work? The HTML code adds a lot of alphanumeric stuff in front of the URL so it can't be located. I don't recall this problem prior to Vista Mail. So, if I want to be sure they'll work I'll have to turn off the HTML. Or, I'll save it as a draft then see if the URLS work- if they work in the draft folder, they'll usually work OK.

There is no problem with other file types. I'm not certain of the time sequence, but I think I downloaded an update to

I can create and save an HTML file but can't save changes to an existing HTML file. When trying to save using Notepad, the error window says:

When trying to save using Notepad++, the error window says:
Save failed Please check whether if (sic) this file is opened in another program.
What I can do with Notepad (I haven't tried any work-around with Notepad++) is to first save the .html file as a .txt file, then open the .txt file and successfully save it as a .html file. I tell you this as a possible diagnostic clue; it is by no means an acceptable fix. This problem appeared suddenly out of the blue. I can think of nothing that might have caused it. I have tried the usual stuff, such as re-booting, but nothing has worked.
I used to use the HTML Slide show power toy thingy for XP. But it does not install on Vista. Is there a way to make an HTML slide show (export) for upload to my website with Vista? How to? This is a real bummer as I dont write HTML. Need wizards and the such.

I am sure that there is someway to take the tracks from these files but I knew that html are internet files! All seemed ok so I check the box for PLAIN TEXT from HTML and the next day it started cominmg agaiin. (1) A reset of IE did not fix the problem.
(2) A system restore to the day before installing QuickTime did fix the problem. This doesn't prove that QuickTime is at fault, of course, but I still have my suspicions. I will probably reload QuickTime shortly, and if the problem returns, I'll post it.
Note: It appears that the system restore reversed the IE reset, so for anyone (like me) who might be nervous about doing the reset, the restore is a safety backup.
For some reason my Windows Mail has stopped showing html. As late as 5PM this evening I was able to see stationery posts , but now all I get is text.=20...

I have followed the help instructions as I wanted to change the font to another style, colour etc. However 'Help' tells you to format your signature in a WP package and save in html format. Easy, I thought! In Word 2007 when you try to Save As - the html option si not in the drop down menu. so i tried in Wordpad, no luck ther either. how I save to html in vista? I had no problems in W.XP. Wish I had not had to change!

Hopefully, someone in here has some ideas or a solution. Iron Man installed fine, but when we go to launch it, we get the same error box popping up, saying:
"Cannot locate the DVD-ROM"
"Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"
Then there's the OK button at the bottom
There's only 1 DVD for this game and it has to be in the drive for the game to run. The game just refuses to run. I finally sat down this weekend and all day today, trying different things, like cycling between the different compatibility modes, updating DVD firmware, tweaking the game's INI files, and Googling every damn thing I can think of to see if there any other solutions or anyone who's solved this. Nothing works.
I recently purchased my business card in a jpg file so I can use it in an automated signature. I do Tools>Options>Signatures>File>Browse and insert the file with my e-card. When I go to create a new email, all that appears instead of my card is.
