In Hotmail, when I try to go back to an previous spot in the message and insert additional words, every letter I add deletes a letter from the text that follows.What causes this and how can I reset the app to allow me to insert text without deleting a chararter for every character I insert?
View 3 RepliesI want to keep track of the number of pics I have in a folder .. is there a way to insert text onto a folder icon, so that you can keep track of this? what i mean by this is actually inserting a number onto the folder icon itself, like "10". this way we would see the folder icon (along with the picture previews of whats inside the folder), as well as this number.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Windows dialog boxes are too small to display all the text they contain. And as we know, these verdammt boxes are not resizable. Up to now, this has been a minor annoyance, but now it's a major one: it's keeping me from completing the Vista x64 SP2 patch install.
As you can see in the attachments, the window text is just too big. It overflows the sides of the dialog. And because the SP2 EULA screen requires that you view all its text, and I can't, I never get an active "NEXT" button to proceed with the installation. Changing screen res does not help.
I've tried Personalize > Windows Color and Appearance > Open Classic Appearance Properties to reset the Window Text size, but the option to do this is grayed out. I've tried the registry hack found on this board to try and substitute a smaller font, but no go. I've tried several hackware proggies to try and force unresizeable windows to resize, but no joy there either. I've also tried Chris Pirillo's Vista Font Fix to no avail
I have forgotten the Username and Password for the Login ID... and it is not the default (Username: *blank* Password: admin). I have heard you can hold the reset button on the back of the wireless router but will this reset my wireless network? By that i mean... will i be able to connect with my laptop still through that wireless network or will i have to set it up again?

Hopefully, someone in here has some ideas or a solution. Iron Man installed fine, but when we go to launch it, we get the same error box popping up, saying:
"Cannot locate the DVD-ROM"
"Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"
Then there's the OK button at the bottom
There's only 1 DVD for this game and it has to be in the drive for the game to run. The game just refuses to run. I finally sat down this weekend and all day today, trying different things, like cycling between the different compatibility modes, updating DVD firmware, tweaking the game's INI files, and Googling every damn thing I can think of to see if there any other solutions or anyone who's solved this. Nothing works.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista home premium 64 bit with the latest SP. I just installed an old game (Sniper Elite) and after installation it asked for a reboot. I did this and got the message that windows couldn't start, this could be down to a change recently made etc etc. It then said to fix it
1- insert windows disk and reboot
2- select language and click next
3- Choose repair my computer
I did this but when I clicked repair my computer it didn't show any OS in the box to repair! It just says "If you did not see your OS in the list, click load drivers to load drivers for your hard disk"
I was playing with gears of war and vigas2 and they used to work just fine but now and after instaling few updates it gives me the masseg "Please insert the correct CD-ROM"

However, I always reply on top of a message so that the person who receives my reply doesn't need to scroll down to read the (latest) reply. Now, I have to move the signature from the bottom to the end of my reply, above the original message I received. Is there any way to insert the signature on top of a reply instead of at the bottom?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi installed windows xp first on my 1tb hard drive on a partition that worked fine, then i installed vista 64bit on a second partition and that was fine i got the option to dual boot and everything was fine. Now i decided to get rid of the xp partition because i wasnt using it so i copied all the files i wanted from it and put it in my vista partition then i used geparted (3rd party partition tool) to format my xp partition.
I then restarted my pc and get a error please insert system disc, now i think the problem is because the xp was first to install that has all the boot records on it so when i formatte dthe partition i deleted the boot files etc etc. I used my vista recovery disc and used the command prompt to try and re write the mbr using bootrec.exe/fixmbr and /fixboot and a few pther option but nothing worked. I had a similar problem a while ago i wrote a simialr command using the recover console to re write the whole mbr but cant remember what it was.Now i have reinstalled vista on the xp partition and can get access to my other vista partition but really want to make the other partition bootable again..........
User of Windows Mail client. I have set up HTML format for e-mails but I can't insert image from clipboard directly into the body of message. Why when MS Outlook this supports? I know that Thunderbird doesn't allow it as well but WinMail is he "Microsoft" product isn't it? If I receive a message with images attached than all of this are showed inside the body automatically. Before I had a chance to get to it, some smart person managed to power it up and force a shutdown during the initial Vista installation run. Now I keep getting "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, please restart the installation." I have tried Safe Mode and Repair (found no problems), and still get the same message. I heard there is a way to reset Vista to 'out of box' setting.

I can no longer play any form of sound file unless its directly from a CD or a .wav file. I only get a single popping sound as I try to load any WMA or MP3 file and it says "media changing" before it loads. But I can still play WMV files with sound and picture. I thought that a solution to this problem might be to reset the player, but there seems to be no way of doing that without a clean reinstall of Vista.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo after several software hardware fails and reinstalls of vista iv bit the bullet and bought 7 now with the several installs from vista and 1 install from 7 that bsod on me I noted that there seems to be 1 stick of tame that if I take out the bsod stops anyway as a last effort to see if it is that 1 stick inparticular I have swithched banks to test befor I write it of as faulty, so far so good touch wood nothing. my question now is.... Is this just a myth or does it really work? Can ram really be cleaned and reset?
