For the last week some of my emails have been disapearing from my inbox after a couple of seconds. They are not in my junk folder. My ISP says its not a problem their end. I am considering reistalling windows mail but don't really know what I'm doing so am reluctant to do this if there is another solution - this may not fix anyway and would I loose all my emails currently in my inbox?
I'm having a problem, and this problem just started today. I was recieving the emails yesterday to my inbox, but when I logged on the computer to check them today there was none in the inbox, and I know for a fact that there would definately be something in my inbox today because I get notification sent to my inbox when someone replys to me on other sites.
I have recently gotten a Windows Vista Pa and to all the bugs left on it while released onto the productivity shelfs, shame on you. To delete the unwanted and unmoveable emails: Select email Go to Edit Select Mark as Unread and Then DELETE!
My Aunt just got her new vista with windows mail and within 2 days got a phishing email and a smutty spam email before she got her junk filters set. Now for some reason the Will NOT DELETE. we have tried everything from drag and drop to move to folder and setting the filters so it would move then to the junk folder and nothing works. i have gone through windows KB and vista help and support and found nothing that worked. i have searched everywhere but can't seem to find anything that might help.
I got a new Motorola Droid and have set it up to receive my emails (it was done at the Verizon store) Ever since then, the emails are streaming straight through to my phone and not accessible on my laptop. I have gone into the account options and checked "save a copy of email on server until deleted from inbox", but I still cannot access any of my emails on my laptop.
I have a totally top of the range laptop, I am not running any of the things like Norton that are known to cause performance problems (I use AVG anti-virus). I have heaps of RAM and disk-space, a fast Intel Core2 Duo chip, yet my computer is slower than my previous seven year old one (that was running XP). It takes about 3 seconds to display things like the Windows Explorer window or about 6 or 7 seconds to bring up Firefox or IE. and about 10 or 11 seconds the first time I open Outlook. That is not taking into account the time it takes to download the web page or retieve my mail. I am using the default settings in Vista, are there features in Vista (I know it monitors everything) that could be slowing me down this much?
My Vista Ultimate-SP1 PC continuously freezes for a few seconds, it freezes then I hear a "click" noise coming from my hard drives and it works again for a while...after a couple of minutes or even less it happens again.. I have all the Vista updates and all my software and drivers up to date, I have already unsuccessfully tried everything and I' don't know how to solve this. I have not reformatted to reinstall Vista, as I learnt searching Google that other Vista users are suffering an identical problem even after several clean Vista Installs.
"I have 2 computers, both running VISTA HOME PREMIUM. (Laptop since upgraded to WINDOWS 7) In the laptop, which is a wireless connection to the internet, WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE ADVISOR, & Secunia PSI will properly connect to the internet, and scan the machine for out of date software. No problems. (IE8 is the default browser)
However, in my desktop, hard wired to my home network router, Secunia will not connect. Nor will the WINDOWS 7 Upgrade Advisor. I set the rules in IE8 to allow the connection, but all I get is the barber pole saying it could take up to 10 seconds to connect, but it never does. I also set the firewall to allow this connection, in both directions. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled the program, to no avail. Same issue......
I'm using a home premium on a lenovo 3000 k series 100 with a intel 2 Quad CPU. And recently, when I set it to sleep, or it goes in sleep it self, it will wake up like 30 seconds right after the sleep, even at the night! I'm so frustrated with it.
I have just bulit myself a new Pc and have discovered quite possibly the most rustrating issue i have ever come across trying to fix. This problem is very inconsistant and happens randomly, My pc will hang about every 5 seconds for about a second, when i say hang i mean both video and sound lockup then return to normal. when trying to navigate around on the net via google for answers this makes things difficult. I have done some deeper digging and found a svchost.exe chewing up about 100 mb of RAM but am not sure if this is the source of my problem. One other thing i use is a DLink Wireless Lan adapter via USB.
Very frustrating week as my internet connection is not working properly, and worse not even consistent. Either my connection seems normal or the link up then down alternating for hours. I'm running Vista 32 Using either my speedtouch 536v6 or Belkin G wireless router to access. Problem occurs with either. Have used filtered dsl line or not. Problem occurs with either. Have shut my comp. off. Problem occurs with either. ISP have visited twice, check the line, shrugged their shoulders and closed the ticket. And worse of all not consistent, so it's hard to locate the problem. It connection will work fine for an hour (like right now) then just stop working. I have reset both modem, reset user setting, obtained new ip, etc, etc.
somethings wrong with my explorer. it has to restart every few seconds and i dont know why. i keep on scanning my laptop for a virus but nothing comes up.
I got her a Compaq Presario V2000 (Windoz XP Professional). It has been serving her needs quite well. But now she calls and says it shuts down every 59 seconds so she hasn't time to run any of its programs like antivirus or IE to connect to web to run maybe LiveOne scan or others. She has asked me to mail her a CD that will be self-booting and contain a good antivirus (and I would say, something like Malwarebyte too) on it, that will run and clean up her computer so she can use it again.
(After that, i need to talk to her more about protective programs for the machine....) She is of the opinion that the infective agent may be "worm.win32.nightshade or something like that." Quoting her. This Could possible be a form of the netsky virus, I can't be sure. At any event, I tried to shop for a curative CD for her problemo. All the CD's I could find contained very old antivirus programs (with three years or older virus definitions ....and most do not even say they remove those viruses..they talk only about "scanning for viruses" whereas we need a scan and a REMOVAL, that is a real antivirus program that works.... with current uptodate viral defintions. And a good malware type additive. Can anyone recommend any such CD, or else any other means she may be able to restore functionality?
Recently I have noticed that what ever application I am in, often it stops responding for a few seconds and then it starts responding. I am operating Vista Home Premium 32bt. and have Norton Internet Security 2010 running. No other programs running at startup except sidebar.
I appreciate help on this matter. I have run full NIS scan, full Malwarebytes, and full tune up in system mechanics 9.
I use a hp pavilion laptop with 2 gb ram and centrino1.73ghz c2d vista ultimate 64bit. most of the times when i press power button(when my laptop is switch off or say shut down)the very "first screen" which shows hp logo, intel logo and phoenix logo along with press del and press f options remains for too long and i mean too long i.e. nearly 160 seconds.but this problem occurs 8 outta 10 times.and whenever this problem occurs , cd rom icon from "my computer" window disappears and thus i cant use my cd/dvd rom.bt when on switching on the "first screen" shows for a fraction of a second then everything works fine and cd/dvd rom appears in "my computer" window.i thought that there might be some problem in my hdd so i did a factory reset(i.e. recovery) bt to my disappointment nothing went right.the problem exists as it happened to be.
I just bought 2x "1GB PC2 4200 4300 DDR2 533MHZ 240 PIN 1 BG CL 4.0" ram sticks for my dell inspiron 530 and they wont ork. I installed them right and the slots all lined up right so i know they fit. but when i go to start it up, instead of beeping once after about 5 seconds after i hit the power button on, it takes about 2 seconds, the it goes beep beep and nothing comes up on the screen. I am very good with the software part of computers but the hardware i am litterally dumb as $h!t with.
The issue is that ever since I installed Vista, it will randomly, without warning, hang for about 30 seconds and then resume without issue.
- Reinstall Vista (done) - Change SATA to ATA (not possible with Dell Bios) - Defrag HD (Done) - Check for Hardware Errors (No issues under XP for 2 years) - Virus program (does this when AVG isn't installed) - Drivers (all up to date drivers, froze before nvidia/creative drivers installed) - Bios (Latest bios version from Dell)
I have watched the reliability monitor and event viewer and I am not seeing any errors at the time of freezing. I really think this issue needs to be addressed because in my search of these forums and the internet, MANY people are having these problems, but no one is explaining it well enough and so many of the answers are unrelated.
I have the network icon in the system tray set to be animated whenever there's network activity. It will animate for a few seconds after I dial in, but afterward, it stops, even though the connection continues to be active. Is this normal behavior?
When I want to reply to an email and it is the first email of the day that I reply to , I hit the reply button and it taking over 60 seconds for the cursor to appear in the memo area.
In my admin account I log in and abut 10 seconds later the resolution ges low making everything look huge. In my other 2 guest accounts there is no problem. How can I fix this? I've tried changing resolution while i'm on the account but that's only temporary, when i restart the computer it's the same thing over again and all of my drivers are updated and i cant roll back any of them either.
When I list the dates associated with a file, I cannot get the seconds displayed. If I display 'properties' the seconds show so I assume I have the format set properly. How can I display seconds in the Details view?
Boot from a cold start now takes about 95 seconds. Standby takes 9 seconds. Recover from standby takes about 5 seconds. Shutdown takes 24 seconds. I've already reduced WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 5 seconds, with no apparent penalty. There are no unnecessary startups, though I have not begun snipping away Services. What else can I do to accelerate both ends of the cycle?
I play cs fine for 1-3 minutes then it starts to cut out then comes back on. Does it again a few times then it cut's out completely and the only way to fix it is by disabling the wireless network then enabling it again then starts over cutting out. When i click the repair option - I get this. Which says this when i click "Click for imformation on troubleshooting low wireless signal quality problems
This never happend with the USB wireless stick. With the usb stick it just froze every 60 seconds. Now that i have a pci card i think it's even worse. Can someone try and fix this for me, it's annoying as fuck. Also when gaming i loose connection on me and freeze but everyone else is moving, it's mostly everybody freezing though. and soon im not gonna put up with it and im just going to stop playing. I can't handle this.
When we try to install from the AE3 Icon, it stops 30 seconds into installation process. saying that the game is not installed and that it will now exit.
When I open the first website it takes 42 seconds. The second takes 20 no matter what order I open them. If I close IE or Firefox and re-open the website it takes 32-40 seconds. The second takes 20. When I open the first program it takes 9 seconds. I do not have a lot of programs running, run my utilities regularly, use CCleaner daily. My hardrive has 50 of 150g used. Is there a way to cut down the load time of the initial website?
