When we try to install from the AE3 Icon, it stops 30 seconds into installation process. saying that the game is not installed and that it will now exit.
View 9 RepliesI have installed Vista x32 with SP2 Ultimate. When I installed anti-virus, BSOD came. Same AV version haven't problem with Vista SP1, what is updated to SP2. Then I try to install Vista with SP2 to hyper-v server, but installation stops immediately error screen (STOP: 0x0..8E). Is n_windows_vista_ultimate_sp2_checked_build_x86_dvd_342432.iso packet ok ?

I am operating Vista Home Premium 32bt. and have Norton Internet Security 2010 running. No other programs running at startup except sidebar.

I have the network icon in the system tray set to be animated whenever there's network activity. It will animate for a few seconds after I dial in, but afterward, it stops, even though the connection continues to be active. Is this normal behavior?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem with my Windows Vista Home Premium installation for the past week or so, with the problem getting more frequent day by day. I usually notice this happen after a period of inactivity, but the duration of the inactivity is seemingly random. Basically, I will come back to the computer to see that Firefox or whatever windows I might have open have stopped responding. I attempt to close with the X to no avail, then try to close using the Task Bar. When this fails, I try to open the Task Manager to close the program manually, only to lock up the computer for 45-60 seconds on a black screen, and then receive the message "Logon process has failed to create the security options dialog. Failure - Security Options". Clicking OK on this dialog takes me back to my now totally unresponsive computer. No windows can be closed by any means, and the computer must be turned off manually, which I hate doing.

Loaded Accelerator crashed whole system had to do repair of FSX and start over again with continual stoppage. Don't know where to go from here. It worked fine with XP
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a totally top of the range laptop, I am not running any of the things like Norton that are known to cause performance problems (I use AVG anti-virus). I have heaps of RAM and disk-space, a fast Intel Core2 Duo chip, yet my computer is slower than my previous seven year old one (that was running XP). It takes about 3 seconds to display things like the Windows Explorer window or about 6 or 7 seconds to bring up Firefox or IE. and about 10 or 11 seconds the first time I open Outlook. That is not taking into account the
time it takes to download the web page or retieve my mail. I am using the default settings in Vista, are there features in Vista (I know it monitors everything) that could be slowing me down this much?
I am using ASUS G51VX which I purchased last month. Since each time I wanted to install files which are over 1GB will become extremely slow. I decide to use the ASUS recovery disc to recover my Vista home premium. However, now each time after the loading screen, my PC will not process and enter the Window. 2. Gateway will not give me support since I am updating to SP2 (SP1 is the OEM when I bought the computer).
3. Microsoft will not support me either since I bought an OEM-OS system, unless I pay the $59 for the service.
im trying to install drivers for action replay ds because without them it doesnt work on vista 64 bit. when i clicked the link to download it, i got an error that said "there was a problem with the request", but it still downloaded it. then when i extracted and opened the file and clicked the windows installer to install the drivers i get the error message "not enough storage to process this command". i tried running it as administrator and messing around with the IRPStackSize (changed the value about 5 times and nothing happened.) what else could possibly be wrong?

Can not even turn off numlock as the light will not change from being on. View 6 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if anyone else had experienced these annoying freezes that occur randomly in Vista 64. It can happen while I'm playing a game, it can happen while I'm browsing firefox etc. I freeze up about 4 times a day and the only solution is a hard restart.
It is beyond me, I have the video card drivers up to snuff, all updates are installed, virus scanners/spyware scanners, video card isn't overheating, CPU idles at 33 loads at 42. I'll describe the problem a little better other than to just say it's freezing. When the freeze occurs, the entire screen stops moving, I cannot move my mouse, all sound stops working, and if there was a sound playing, it will get mutilated into a nasty buzz.
Running Vista Home Premium with an NVidia 8800 GTX video card. Have SP1 installed but do not have Acceleration. Trying to install SP2 but it won't install. I first tried clicking "Run", and then also tried downloading the patch to the desktop and then running, but it simply will not install...just cancels itself. I disabled McAfee VS before trying to install, but results still the same. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas how to get this to work? I looked on this board and MS site, and so far have found no other mentions of this problem.

The goal would be that during a clean install, those updated drivers and Windows Updates are installed automatically.
For a specific example, I use a USB Wireless Adapter. If I could create a custom windows disc that includes those drivers, then I my USB Wireless Adapter would be recognized and I could therefore allow Windows to connect to the Internet during Setup to see if there are any hotfixes and updates.
I'm having some trouble doing a clean install of vista on my machine. I had already installed it once back in January of 2008, and was going to do a clean install here last night. I formatted my hard drive, and start the installation it will go through all of its steps until it states that it needs to restart. I want to intall sp2 because I have added 4gb ram and my computer keeps crashing and i heard sp2 had a fix for this.
My Vista Ultimate-SP1 PC continuously freezes for a few seconds, it freezes then I hear a "click" noise coming from my hard drives and it works again for a while...after a couple of minutes or even less it happens again.. I have all the Vista updates and all my software and drivers up to date, I have already unsuccessfully tried everything and I' don't know how to solve this. I have not reformatted to reinstall Vista, as I learnt searching Google that other Vista users are suffering an identical problem even after several clean Vista Installs.

(Laptop since upgraded to WINDOWS 7) In the laptop, which is a wireless connection to the internet, WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE ADVISOR, & Secunia PSI will properly connect to the internet, and scan the machine for out of date software. No problems. (IE8 is the default browser)
However, in my desktop, hard wired to my home network router, Secunia will not connect. Nor will the WINDOWS 7 Upgrade Advisor. I set the rules in IE8 to allow the connection, but all I get is the barber pole saying it could take up to 10 seconds to connect, but it never does. I also set the firewall to allow this connection, in both directions. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled the program, to no avail. Same issue......
