Email Delivery Receipt Automatically Sent In Windows Mail
Apr 30, 2008
I am using Windows Mail 6.0 with Windows Vista home premium. About a month ago, in a fit of anger, I turned on a function that automatically sends a personalised reciept to every person that sends me an Email. My intent was to allow certain spammers to know exactly what I felt about them. However, innocent Emailers are complaining about my vulgarity and are wondering what their mother ever did to offend me. I have searched all of the mail functions, and I can find no way to turn this off.
This keeps happening. Let me note that I never have missed paying a bill to Comcast. Why do people keep getting the messages they write to me back again? Here is what the most recent one said. "Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
< my email address>: Mail server for "comcast.net" unreachable for too long" I collect my email numerous times a day. Is there something I can do to receive email again? I do get some email but many times people are getting them back again.
I'm using Windows Live Mail with Windows Vista and a Hotmail account. I'm getting these emails from postmaster@mail.hotmail.com and they are driving me crazy because I'm getting hundreds of them. I never even tried to send an email to these people, so I have no idea why I'm getting these emails. I thought I might have a virus or something, but I ran Mcafee, Spybot and Ad-aware and come up with nothing. It seems to only happy when I'm running Windows Live Mail and I don't get the emails when I'm not running it.
What email should I use when I convert to Windows 7 in a few days? I must be able to easily convert thousands of emails in hundreds of folders, many nested within other folders, maybe 3 or 4 deep. I have 8 or more email addresses that Windows Mail checks automatically. Is OEX any good?
i just installed the latest windows live mail beta software client and i wanted to know how do i get junk mail to be displayed automatically ? before it would show automatically on the layout of the reading pane to the right of the message list but now i have to click to open them because they wont show in the reading pane like they did before
I have a strange problem that I have found no solution for. At regular intervals Windows Mail starts and jumps to the foregroudn on its own without any action by me that would cause this behavior. Typical example is when playing a game/watching a video in full screen mode Mail jumps up and throws the other program in the background. This is extremely annoying, any suggestions on what might be causing this? I haved no mail accounts configured in Mail and I have tried to disable all automatic notifications and automatic checing for new messages.
When I start an email by typing in the name of the recipients, who are all in my address book; the address of the person does not come up automatically. I have to open Windows contacts each and every time and copy it to the email
I had problems not being able to automatically invoke Windows Mail when clicking on an address and that issue was solved by running a MailTo.reg-file. Now, i noticed that i have a similar issue when i try to send a link to the current webpage i'm viewing. When i choose File->Send, there are options to send a link and a page but they are greyed out.
I am running Windows Vista. I am having a problem with Windows Mail inthat every time I switch between folders, the last e-mail in my Inbox disappears. It doesn't go into the Deleted Items folder, it just vanishes. I have lost several important e-mails today.
I am seeing new contacts in my list that I have not added. I recently installed SP2 and wonder if this has anything to do about it. It never happeded before that.
When reading an email using Windows Mail,if the text in the body of that email contains an email address,is it possible to double click on that address and have Windows Mail open automatically with a blank reply page?
This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
next week I'll get a new e-mail adress because I am changing my email provider. I would like my email (of the old adress) to be sent automatically to my new emailadress, but I just don't know exactly how to do this.
I have upgraded from Windows Mail to Live Windows Mail and have imported my emails and contacts. The contacts have worked ok but I cannot find any of my imported emails. I have looked in the storage folders and imported folders as well as all other folders but there is no sign of any of my emails.
I have checked "automatically complete email addresses when composing" in Tools, Options, Send. However, it doesn't always work. It would save me a lot of time if it worked (like Outlook Express).
i also tried to change my default email to windows live, it doesn't work, comes up w/ some weird kind of mail that doesn't send messages (not sure if it's trying to use windows mail even tho it's set to windows live mail, or what). so, i'm trying to set up my windows live account (which is new, just set it up a couple of months ago), through windows mail. tried setting to pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com and when it goes to connect i keep getting this error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
i really want my default e-mail server to be set up to something that works. and i do not want to go back to using my yahoo account.
I use Hotmail as my email provider. I have Windows Vista Home Prem. 64 bit.Everytime I reply or create a new outgoing msg. the msg. is automatically moved to the Drafts Folder after only 2-3min. Since I am a very slow typist and take time to research info it is not good for me. Can someone tell me how to lengthen the time to about 10 min. before it transfers the msg.?

I use Vista Home Premium 32bit and I want to install Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 8 at also checked out this page at for the step by step guide to install it. But in Vista Home Premium 32 bit, I cannot open the Group Policy Editor. When I type GPEDIT.MSC from startRun and then hit the Enter key, the error message says soemthing like GPEDIT.MSC does not exists. After I downloaded the Toolkit, I run the IE8BlockerToolkit.EXE and it extracted 4 files:
I double clicked on IE80Blocker.cmd and then I cannot proceeed to the next step to setup the IE8 Blocker Template (IE80Blocker.adm) May I ask if anyone can shed some light on this? How can I install this Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 8 in Vista Home Premium 32 bit properly?
Using Vista Home and Windows Mail. Just d/l'd IE 8 and now in Windows Mail, the new mail is automatically selected and shows up in the Preview Pane. Before, I could select an old piece of mail and when new mail came in, it did not get selected until I chose to do this. I want this feature back, but don't know how to get it. The reason? It is my understanding that once a piece of mail is in the preview screen, the sender (spam or otherwise undesirable character), knows you have received it; or if in html format, it can open a virus. I know I can turn off the Preview and do have a button on the top menu to do this, but would prefer to not have to do this whenever going into the email program. Also, is it true that by looking at the Properties (instead of the Preview Pane) of an unopened email to view its content,
I've been trying for a few days to set up a group mail list but keep getting an individual error message back for each address on the list (5.1.1 - Bad destination email address 'invalid domain "": no dot found') I have made individual contacts of each person thati wish to send to (as despite what the help file says about clicking the toolbar and choosing "group" all I ever have available to me is the individual contacts. I then put all of these contacts in one named directory in the contacts folder but this folder is not available to me when I go to send a new EMail.
I am using Vista/ Windows Mail with no issues for a year or so and recently I can no longer send email. There is no error message but I looked into it a little closer after not getting replies from several email I had sent out. The email go into my out box and appear to leave as normal when sent. I have tried emptying my out box, checked all settings with my ISP, and read a lot of post with out seeing anything else to try.
I set it as default in IE, by using the default setting button and windows mail, but revert rite back to not set as the default email client. It is missing from the default program listing.
I have been using Windows Mail for 2 weeks without any problems. This afternoon, I cannot connect at all. A Windows Security Logon box keeps asking me for my user name and password. When I type in both, it does not recognize it. This is what the error message says: Account: 'SWB', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid username/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92. Comcast was down earlier and I use Kaspersky for anti-virus.
i can recieve emails, but i also get the following message, Message number 1 could not be retrieved. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR problem retrieving message.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD
why I cannot send email from windows mail when I have a hotmail account - something about smtp and pop3 - i just want to be able to send email from anywhere on my computer I have been struggling with this problem for so long and nobody gets back to me!
