Won't Automatically Receive Mail
May 14, 2008I've set-up my Windows Mail but for some reason it won't automatically receive mail. I have to click the send/receive button.

Can't Automatically Receive New Emails
Sep 6, 2009My new emails are not coming into my inbox unless I exit out of Mail and then re-open Mail. If I hit Send/Receive, I get an error box with "Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details. But there's nothing in the Errors box.

But after I upgrade my home PC to Vista system (I export my mail account for XP outlook express then inport it to my Vista system.) then it have problem - when the mail that I received in home Vista system Windows Mail then i no longer can receive in office mail client. Jul 29, 2009Using Vista Home and Windows Mail. Just d/l'd IE 8 and now in Windows Mail, the new mail is automatically selected and shows up in the Preview Pane. Before, I could select an old piece of mail and when new mail came in, it did not get selected until I chose to do this. I want this feature back, but don't know how to get it. The reason? It is my understanding that once a piece of mail is in the preview screen, the sender (spam or otherwise undesirable character), knows you have received it; or if in html format, it can open a virus. I know I can turn off the Preview and do have a button on the top menu to do this, but would prefer to not have to do this whenever going into the email program. Also, is it true that by looking at the Properties (instead of the Preview Pane) of an unopened email to view its content,

At regular intervals Windows Mail starts and jumps to the foregroudn on its own without any action by me that would cause this behavior. Typical example is when playing a game/watching a video in full screen mode Mail jumps up and throws the other program in the background. This is extremely annoying, any suggestions on what might be causing this? I haved no mail accounts configured in Mail and I have tried to disable all automatic notifications and automatic checing for new messages.

Jul 2, 2008Vista Business, windows mail. Problem receiving. Receive hangs on one of the messages. I now have a number of messages received mulitple times, Windows mail then gets to 'receiving message 7 of (currently) 21, and hangs. Sometime I get an error saying that the server has timed out. (No response for a minute) Was Perfectly OK last week. (and for a few weeks since getting my new laptop with Norton!)
it downloads the first 6 messages, gets stuck and times out on the 7th, with or without Norton. And of course, since it gets stuck, doesn't clear from the server, which is why the first six keep coming down. I think I am now on SP1, have uninstalled Norton to no effect. I think the problem mail has an Access attachment about 2 meg in size. Anyway, was OK last week, not now. receive is from oneandone, send from either oneandone or eclipse makes no difference.

About a month ago, in a fit of anger, I turned on a function that automatically sends a personalised reciept to every person that sends me an Email. My intent was to allow certain spammers to know exactly what I felt about them. However, innocent Emailers are complaining about my vulgarity and are wondering what their mother ever did to offend me. I have searched all of the mail functions, and I can find no way to turn this off.

Jul 29, 2009I have live mail set up on my home account and it works great there. However, when I am away from that account using another server it can only receive mail not send mail. Is there a way to configure it to send when I am connected to a public account such as a hotel?

Apr 8, 2009Since changing to a new ISP server, I am unable to receive mail. Outgoing is quite OK. According to my server it is set-up correctly. They suggested to uninstall my AVG anti virus program to see if it was being blocked. I have reinstalled AVG and changed the setting to disble the email protection and I still cannot receive mail. MY ISP server says now that there is nothing further they can do.
