View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot open or save any attachment using windows Mail running Vista. I get an error message that says 'There was an error opening one or more of the attachment. Please check your free disk space and try again.' I have plenty of disk space. I have tried installing Windoes Live Mail, but I get the same message. I am using Microsoft anti-virus software. I was using AVG. I have read all the other remarks about this problem and have followed some of the suggestions but nothing helps. I have checked and unchecked so many times, I don't even know what I have checked any more. One day it worked and the next day it didn't.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem that I have found no solution for. At regular intervals Windows Mail starts and jumps to the foregroudn on its own without any action by me that would cause this behavior. Typical example is when playing a game/watching a video in full screen mode Mail jumps up and throws the other program in the background. This is extremely annoying, any suggestions on what might be causing this? I haved no mail accounts configured in Mail and I have tried to disable all automatic notifications and automatic checing for new messages.

I have W.Vista Home Premium & MS Office 2007. I am trying to insert my 'signature' into both sending and replying to my e-mails. I have followed the help instructions as I wanted to change the font to another style, colour etc. However 'Help' tells you to format your signature in a WP package and save in html format. Easy, I thought! In Word 2007 when you try to Save As - the html option si not in the drop down menu. so i tried in Wordpad, no luck ther either. how I save to html in vista? I had no problems in W.XP. Wish I had not had to change!
View 9 Replies View RelatedLike many others based on previous posts, am unable to open or save attachments in windows mail. I think my problem is exactly the same as "anhlyss" had in the posts in January. I am hoping there is an easier fix than restoring factory setting. As suggested in other threads, I have ensured that I have unchecked the "do not allow attachments to be opened" box in options.
If I click on the attachment to open it, the little hourglass pointer comes up, and then goes back to the arrow, but nothing else happens. If I try to save the attachment, I get this message: "There was an error saving one or more of your attachments, please check your free disk space and try again"

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Mail 6.0 with Windows Vista home premium. About a month ago, in a fit of anger, I turned on a function that automatically sends a personalised reciept to every person that sends me an Email. My intent was to allow certain spammers to know exactly what I felt about them. However, innocent Emailers are complaining about my vulgarity and are wondering what their mother ever did to offend me. I have searched all of the mail functions, and I can find no way to turn this off.

This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
Suddenly, WinMail won't save an e-mail in the Sent folder nor save in the Draft folder. Yes, In Options, Save a letter in the Sent folder is selected. Nothing changed, just suddenly stopped saving anything. Is there a way to uninstall Win Mail and reinstall? This program is a constant screw-up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Vista Home and Windows Mail. Just d/l'd IE 8 and now in Windows Mail, the new mail is automatically selected and shows up in the Preview Pane. Before, I could select an old piece of mail and when new mail came in, it did not get selected until I chose to do this. I want this feature back, but don't know how to get it. The reason? It is my understanding that once a piece of mail is in the preview screen, the sender (spam or otherwise undesirable character), knows you have received it; or if in html format, it can open a virus. I know I can turn off the Preview and do have a button on the top menu to do this, but would prefer to not have to do this whenever going into the email program. Also, is it true that by looking at the Properties (instead of the Preview Pane) of an unopened email to view its content,

I even have problems saving the attachments. I can start the save process, but Window Mail locks up. But strange enough the file is saved to the correct location. If I try to save multiple attachments, only the first file is saved, than its locked up again. On a side note, during one of these crashes a email was corupted, I can no longer read it. I can also not delete it or move it to a new folder.
