View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer. HP Total Care Advisor tells me only 4% is free on drive C. I ran disk defragmentation, disk cleanup, and uninstalled a good amount of programs I no longer use. It did not do anything. Once and awhile I get a prompt in the bottom right corner saying that I have low disk space. When I click on it it wants to run disk cleanup which does absolutely nothing. How do I free up space and make my computer perform the best it can?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had my pc down for a day or 2 so i could move it to another room. When i stick my memory card in, the pc does nothing. But before it would. It had no problem recongizing it. I have 3 different cards and tried all 3 of them. Ive gone into device manager and its not in there, but says the device is working properly.I used my usb sd reader and that works fine. I was able to open all 3 cards and do whatever. y this would all of a sudden do this to me after working perfectly fine before.

However, in my Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI4 laptop, this card does not fit snugly in the PCMCIA slot ( it jiggles back and forth ) and the power light does not light-up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Vista Ultimate x64 installed on an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop, and it has a 5-in-1 card reader. When I installed Vista, I did a clean install and before doing so, I wrote a list of the drivers I might need to get later, like my graphics card, wireless network card, etc.I failed to write down the 5-in-1 card reader, so I don't know what model or anything it is, but it doesn't work. On my device manager, I have a section called "SD Host Adapters", with "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller" underneath it. I use an SD card, so I would assume this is related. However, under "Other Devices", I have three devices called "PCI FLASH Memory" and they all have a problem. I would assume this is the card slot. Also, does anyone know where I can get x64 drivers for a Synaptics PS/2 Touchpad? It works, but the scrolling features don't work.

i have a 3870x2 and i'm using Vista Ultimate 64-bit with 2gb of ram.
No matter what program i run, even programs i KNOW are supposed to use more than 1 gpu core, nothing puts any kind of load (not even a little blip for a second) on the second core.
I've tried crysis, Fallout 3, 3dmark 2003 & 2006. I'm using rivatuner hardware monitoring, and even tried 2 copies of gpu-z.
I'm using 2 monitors in dualview and have the monitor programs on the right screen so i can watch while a fullscreen 3d application runs on the other.
Does anyone know about a way to resolve this? It might be a crossfire issues, as these cards DO use crossfire, although it's hard-set to always-enable in the hardware.
So far i've found some info through googling and installed patches manually: KB936710, KB929777, KB938194, KB938979, KB940105, KB945149
I had service pack 1 installed, but it wasn't giving utilization on the second gpu core, no load at all, so i de-installed it just to manually force these patches in... thinking maybe microsoft claims they're included in Sp1 but maybe they're not, but now it's still not resolved it so... i don't know I can't find any posts about this on the internet so far...
other specs: Intel Q6600 @ 3814mhz, patriot extreme performance ddr2-1066 @ 1140mhz (1x2gb) Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 motherboard, using two WD hard drives (7200 rpm, sata-2, 32mb buffer, 500gb) in raid-0 using the onboard raid chip (not the southbridge, the other one)..
A co-worker just told me that if I add a second ATI HD4850 card to my Gateway FX6800-01e computer, and crossfire them, I will loose my current dual monitor mode. In other words, he says that crossfire allows only for one monitor! Is this a correct statement?

I previously had an Nvidia 8800GT as my primary graphics card and also had an 8500GT installed as well on my dual boot XP/Vista PC. They worked fine and the computer recognized both correclty on both OS's I think I didn't have any trouble b/c as I found it all 8 series cards use the same driver. I bought a new primary GPU, a ATi Sapphire 4870 1GB Toxic. I am NOT trying to run SLI or Crossfire, I need availability for 3+ monitors. Can I have two completely different video drivers? I was under the impression NO, but a computer parts guy said I can install an Nvidia & ATi driver as long as I do not install the supplemental software.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed a pair of VisionTek 4870's in Crossfire on my Rampage Formula X48 Motherboard. I have a 750W power supply, so I don't think that's the issue. Everything was working great with my old Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS, but I wasn't getting the framerates on my 1920x1200 monitor. The problem seems to happen when I'm playing games (like Warhammer Online, Mass Effect, or even older ones like Dawn of War 40K) it crashes my system. I've checked my NB temperatures and they're around 58-60 Celcius (seems a bit hot). Does anyone know what I might be able to try to fix this instability? I read somewhere that I could increase the PCI-E voltage, but I'm not sure.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI run a single BFG 8800 GTS 640mb OC2 in my PC at the minute due to using an EVGA 650i Ultra board - which has a single PCI slot - but have just bought a Asus 680i SLI board, so i'm wondering if it may be time to upgrade from my single card to dual cards?
The 8800 GTS i have is fantastic and i don't really see any problems with it: apart from Crysis and the snow levels that is, but i think everyone has problems with that anyway. I know the 8800 GT cards are the next GPU die (G92) and are cheap enough to justify SLI, but will i see a massive increase over what i'm playing with at the minute? I only usually play at 1280x1024 anyway due to burning out my Gainward Golden Sample 7800 GTX whilst running HL2 at 1600x1200 and so it's better to be safe than sorry (and out of pocket £300!). Also, i'm wondering about power consumption with 2 cards and also the extra heat due to the single slot designs.

trying to email and letters sometimes dont appear or get stuck.i'll look up from typing long sentence and its missing bits. does that make sense?
pressing the keys feels the same as normal,nothing sticky yet when writing it 'sticks'. or i have to type very very slowly to get a letter out.sometimes it works ,sometimes it wont but then will give me many of the same letter in a row ie repeating it depending on how many times i've pressed..
i phoned Dell and they suggested i turn off computer and restart-no good.
and then said try a different keyboard so we can work out whether its that or a software program.
i dont know what to do now cos my old keyboard is wireless so i obviously cant plug it in like the current one.
how do i do this?
i am only a beginner so please can you only give really simple answers with detailed explanation/directions. its not my computer but my husbands so i dont know how any of it was set up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell A960 All-in-One Printer installed (Hardwired) onto my Vista Ultimate x64 Machine..I have installed the Drivers for it and it is working fine on this machine.Now, I have an HP Laptop running XP on it, which is connected to my Network, wirelessly. I can see my network and printer and put folders and files into my network folders/computers. It appears that I can print as well, as when I print, the window pops up and says "Printing". Problem: It won't print! I go into my Printer in my Vista Machine and it shows in the status "Deleting" The Printer is "shared".
