When I try to open a link in my email this happens a box opens up and it says Windows cannot find. this happens for everylink I try to open in my email I have Mozilla Firefox as my default but I changed it to IE and it did the same thing I have Vista Home. Eventhough the box comes up with the error it does eventually open up the link but I always get the error box first.

I don't want windows live mail as my default email account. I wen to Set Default Programs. I'm unable to uncheck marks on MAIL-TO PROTOCOL and EMAIL-LINK START MENU LINK. how can I fix that through REGEDIT.

Most likely the problem is your computer is low on memory or is unstable.... I dont understand? This is a new comp and I have mcafee as a virus protection.

I checked the default program and it is set to windows mail, which is where i want it as I did not load outlook. Why does it not work?

Mail has suddenly decided to throw an error whenever I click on a link in an email (in the preview pane or within an open message). A popup appears entitled WinMail.exe - Wrong Volume "The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume NB5 Series into drive D:" If I cancel at this point it then jumps to IE and the page opens as you want. What is going on? Other posts on the topic have had a different device to "NB5 Series" but the same behaviour.

He can save attachments and open them from the folder, but can't just click and open. I have the same problem as the administrator occasionally. When it happens, I exit the email, re-open and it works fine. No error messages, just nothing happens when I click on the attachment. I have Internet Explorer 8, any chance that has something to do with it? I've downloaded
updates, checked settings, everything is in order as far as I can tell. In security, attachements are allowed and it's set for Internet Zone.

When I sent the email, they remained attached but also, they opened up for viewing in the body of the email, making the email HUGE in size. I have searched for ways to turn this feature off, so that the attached photos do not open and show up in the body of the email, but without any luck. Therefore, currently I cannot turn this feature off. I only want photos to be attached, NOT OPEN UP to be viewed in the body of the email. I reinstalled Vista and then updated with SP1 when I try to open an email attachment that is a Word .doc file it will not open and gives an error message that the file type does not have an application associated with it. The .doc file extension is associated with Word and I have re-associated it several times. The file will open if I save it elsewhere or drag it to my desktop and then open it. Is there something in the registry or elsewhere.

He currently has office 2007 trial on the laptop and I have downloaded word & excel viewer 2003 but most of them are still not opening. The file extension is correct in the directory for vista to open it. I noticed a similar problem in the forum for .doc files but the fix for that did not seem to address the .pps files.

When I upload my photos, they go to the Windows Live picture place instead of just to "my pictures" like they did with XP. When I try to email pictures, they can only be emailed as attachments. This is a huge pain to have to individually open each picture. How can I make my pictures appear in the body of the email so recipients don't have to click to open each picture?
