Any emails in my inbox that reach 1 month old are being automatically deleted or archived. Is there any way I can turn this off? I have looked everywhere and cannot find an option to do this.

My email in my inbox is deleting automatically. I open it, switch to another folder, then come back to the inbox, it is gone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows Mail that is "connected" to my Verizon account. Months ago I created subfolders to archive older emails. I diligently moved them into this folder. I also created another subfolder under the archived folder as well. I've had what I can only call "mysterious" issues where e-mails appear and them moments later, they are gone from my inbox. I thought I had the issue (simplistically) solved by diligently moving new items into the archive folder immediately.
Now (12/26/09) those subfolders are gone. They are not under any other folder in Windoes Mail. What is very odd (and there's quite a lot) is that I did find a lot of them now back in my Inbox but not all. The archived folders I created were under the Inbox folder as a subfolder. I don't think this has anything to do with views.
I'm in the habit of deleting everything that goes into my downloads folder within my user folder because having a bunch of installers sitting there is pointless. Recently, however,whenever I attempt to delete any of these installers within my downloads folder,it tells me that "I need to permission to perform this action." These files can't be in use by anything and as administrator I don't see why it suddenly will not allow me to delete this things after I've been doing it for months.If I restart the computer,it WILL let me delete these things.But never before that.

She didnt do it, as she uses one of them extensively, Adobe CS3. So, how do I prevent someone from deleting files. Can I take ownership of the entire programs files, with a password? And along with that, how do I keep programs from being installed without her permission? She is an admin user by default, but can you password UAC?

Microsoft has a web site Download details: WinHlp32.exe for Windows Vista that provides a copy of WinHlp32 that is supposed to run on Vista. However, when I try to install the x86 version of it, it fails with the error message "Installer encountered an error 0x8007000d The data is invalid. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am presently using 96SE. my ISP no longer supports this version as do some programs....my unit is not powerful enough for either xp or vista I am in my eighties and some of my colleagues tell me that vista has a pretty high learning curve, have found both windows 95 and 95se very user friendly. I can get a new unit from Dell loaded with either XP or Vista, i would like to keep current but do not want to become overwhelmed by new technology. I am not a power user but did not find the older window operating system too challenging, the tasks i presently perform are pretty basic my question is given my age and experience level could i handle Vista or should i opt for the XP version.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use a laptop at the office and at home. My problem is that Vista won't update its network settings automatically when I change from one network to another. Per example, my office network has 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 addresses and my home network has 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 addresses. When I arrive at home and the computer connects to the network, it keeps its 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 address, which of course results in limited connectivity. I have to use the Repair tool each time to get the connection back (and it means waiting for a looooong minute in front of the computer...)
