I m using, Vista Home Premium 64bit with sp1 Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard which has a realtek ALC883 sound chip (a 7.1 chip but its limited to 5.1 on this board as standard) im using the Coax output on the back which is contected to my 5.1 sound system. and im using the R1.89 realtek HD audio driver codec (have tryed R1.88,R1.87a,R1.87, and the ones that came with the motherboard R1.57). i can only get 5.1 sound when i play a DVD in WMP, Media center and the realtek digital out put test works too. But when i try playing games (crysis, call of duty 4 and so on) im stuck with dolby pro logic 2.1 and i also can't seem to see the digital output on the realtek manager either no matter what version i use. also the jack info seems a little odd to me.
i want to output sound through my digital output and through my front jacks at the same time, i.e while watching a movie through my digital output (monitor i.e video extended to my tv) and playing a game at the same time (game on my LCD), with sound coming out my front sound jack for the game. so basically in a nut shell, i want to watch movies and play games at the same time, while the respective sound comes through different outputs.
Sound functions but reciever is only detecting 2 channel output. Apon browsing RealTekHD audio properites I discovered that the only options for Digital Output(RCA) were all 2-Channel under "Default Format" tab. However my front pannel Audio Output Jack(HD Audio 2nd Output) has an extra third tab labeled "Speaker Configuration" and has options for up to 7.1 surround but these settings do not impact my Digital Output(RCA) channel. Now my reciever does have a multi-channel input that could take advantage of the Analog Outputs in the rear but the distance is to great and multiple wires are expensive.
i was on Internet earlier today when i noticed that the videos were already completed buferring, but the videos were lagging; and firefox was performing kind of slow. i decided to re-start my computer. after re-starting the computer the logon process took extremely long, then an error message appeared: logon process has failed to create the security options dialog. failure - security options. i waited for the desktop to appear, then re-started again. but the perofrmance of the logon is still extremely slow. any suggestions?
I got an ASUS M50SV with integrated Realtek HD ALC888S audio and the problem is in the speaker configuration, it only shows stereo. i cannot change it because its grayed out. The laptop also has S/PDIF output but the Realtek HD Audio Manager doesnt recognize it.
So I mananaged to get my Old HP PSC 500 to work on my HP Pavillion a6030n with VISTA gave up on the scanning part totally. Bought and installed a new I/O card to do this and tinkered for days! NOW, I realize I have NO SOUND searched all of the threads and experimented with various and sundry but to no avail. The speakers were old JBL PROs had been working changed them out for some old BOSTON speakers (also working on old Gateway) still getting the "No Audio Output Device Installed" and don't even get a "Sound and Video" portion in Device Manager!
Tried downloading Realtek AC97-Audio-Codec-driver-A397 as it was mentioned as a fix in another thread. No joy! Will installing another driver help this? I can't see why the card would be damaged as the previous install didn't go near it. I am not a total novice but small words would be helpful as my brainmatter is fried and not a lot of hair left on the head.
i have had no problems with my audio on my vista 32, until i recently put 4GB ram into my computer, switched it on and works fine, only problem was i lost my audio/realtec, i dont know why this happened, and i am unsure how to correct it and get it working again
I have Realtek high definition audio onboard with one coaxial and one optical digital out. I have the newest driver. I need to connect PC with Panasonic AV Receiver via digital connection. When I use coaxial connection, sound works fine BUT sound is too silent! I have Sony DVD player with coaxial digital output too. If I use subjective for example 1-10 "scale", build-in RDS tuner (in AV receiver) has subjective volume 10, sound from CD inserted in DVD player has the same subjective volume 10 and sound from PC connected via coaxial digi has subjective volume 5. Only volume control i have in Windows is set to max!
I have a Nvidia 7800 which i recently hooked up another monitor too(dual dvi) I now have no video from media player, quicktime, etc.. Only web based video works(which is weird because the web based video is running wmp. When i unplug monitor 2 the video works fine again, after a reboot and the like of course. Anyone know wuts going on here? Sound and everything else works fine, its just showing a black screen on the players.
I've recently upgraded the RAM on my Computer, turned the machine on and everything seemed fine, until I noticed that there was "No Output Device installed". I've noticed many topics about this subject but all seem to be occurring after installing Vista not RAM,
I have a problem (obviously). My laptop will not play sound. When I hover my cursor over the sound icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, a message pops up stating that 'No Audio Output Device is installed'. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm getting the following message: 'Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device'...It appears that the High Definition Audio Controller is having a problem installing (The System cannot find the file specified). I have tried downloading the latest driver, but it still doesn't appear to install. Does anyone know of a way to solve this - I've tried a lot of different things, but I still get the message that there is 'No Audio Output Device is Installed'.
Since my recent automatic Windows update, my laptop no longer recognises an audio output device, claiming one is not installed. All troubleshooting guides just tell me to enable the device, which is impossible as it says it is not installed as opposed to simply disabled. I have never had this problem before, as my laptop has in built speakers. how to solve this so I can actually get sound?
So I just updated Vista on my machine, and after it finished updating, and restarting, my sound was gone. And every time I try to turn up the volume it says "No Audio Output Device Is Installed". But it was working before the update.
I recently turned my computer (HP Pavilion Verde Special Edition a6645f) on after 4 days of dormancy. It runs Windows Vista. When it turned on, it told me it "could not connect to windows services," and that I should check the system event log. I tried, and it said the log is unavailable and to make sure it is running. Also, my sound has vanished. It is telling me, "No Audio Output Devices are installed." On top of that, my wireless internet is failing. It tells me that my wireless adapter (D-Link Rangebooster G Desktop Adaptor) is not available, even though when the computer starts, the LED on the adapter lights, then goes out......
so i just got internet to my computer after almost 2 years of it being out of commission, it still worked and we were able to play games like solitaire and the sims but there was no internet hooked up to it. it installed all kinds of updates and one night i was listening to music via wmp and the next day i went to listen and it said "no audio output device is installed"
i tried updating the device and it said that my driver was up to date.
i also tried uninstalling it and rebooting my computer and that didn't work.
i don't see any error messages in the device manager, i clicked the icon with the little magnifying glass and nothing showed up.
i don't know what else i can do, besides take my computer and throw it into traffic.
i have alot of music on this computer that i listen to on a daily basis and would hate to have to switch it all to a new computer, or even buy a new computer for that matter just because my speakers aren't working.
i got a new graphics cards fitted to my pc as my last one died the new card is a Radeon hd4770 the problem is that i cant get audio sound through hdmi wire when i am sending the signal to my tv. when i go on playback option on sound config page it says ATI HDMI OUTPUT not plugged in and wont let me enable it.
I had to use my restore disc for my windows vista. Since then I have no sound. Have red x on volume and it says no audio device installed.I have treid the uninstall and letting the computer install again, but that didnt work.
I want to do is have my headphone to have a different audio stream than my speakers so that I can talk to a friend through my headset and receive the voice audio, but to also have through my speakers sound from other programs. Basically I just want the system to recognise the speaker and my headphone as different output devices instead of tieing them together. The software I'm using is Realtek Audio Manager and it hasn't been helpful whatsoever, I've had two computers and I've had the same problem with them both.
I have an Asus G 50vt, a few days ago I had it hooked up to a stereo system and tripped on the wire connected to the Audio jack. The Headphone jack now has half of the head stuck inside and I was unable to remove it. I am wondering if there is a way to reassign the headphone output to the Line in or Mic in jacks?
I Was using the Sony Sound Forge 8 in a HP laptop with XP Pro and the program was working really good, but I had a problem with the HP Laptop and I have to run and bought a new computer,as a computer technician, the warehouses make me good prices in computer parts and computers,so I bought an Acer Aspire 4520 with the VISTA OS and now I dont know if it is the computer or the Vista that make the sound output real bad like when you are listening to an old cassette machine,it start slow and after a while you start listening acceptable..I don't know if it is syncronization beetween the data that is in the hard disk and the program or it's that I need a driver,I download the Realtek audio driver just in case, and installed but I still have the problem..But if I play any music in iTunes it sounds real good.
Right where to start, i bought a 5.1 home cinema system for the pure fact i wanted to playe the audio from my Acer 8920G through it. I have been using the normal head phone jack that is playing in stereo but i want to take advantage of Dolby Digital Live and listen to my music in surround sound. So i disabled the "speakers" through control panel in sounds and made the digital output the default but now there is no sound at all although vista says there is a signal when looking at the volume. If i have not been specific enough then please feel free to aks questions, i feel like i am going mad, i can't be unique in ths situation.
My Laptop (Toshiba A355D-S6930; Vista HP 64bit) using ALC272 (6.0.1.5689) Realtek soundcard and only have a mic and a headphone jack. Is there anyway to change the mic input for stereo-rear speaker output?
i was just wondering if its possible to change the codec on windows movie maker and have 60fps on the output video, i do a lot of gaming and encode a lot of videos, i have noticed that the output file can only be encoded to 29.97fps on NTSC and PAL is 25fps, since we are in the HD age of technology, most high definition signals broadcast at 60fps or more (in some cases upto 100fps), any help of aftermarket codecs i can get for WMM?
Everytime I try to add a digital copy of a dvd or blu ray into my iTunes it says I do not have the access privilages. I am the administrator and my computer is definately authorized with my iTunes. I emailed Apple, and the guy said it was probably a Vista issue, and was unable to help me. Is there anyone out there with similar problems and a way to fix it? It is rather frustrating.
I can't get analog or digital to werk properly at all... I get no picture or sound at all on Analog, but all the channels show up after scanning .. I get choppy video and sound on digital and all channels show up after scanning.. I have all the latest drivers and software, done uninstalls, reboots, and reinstalls ... nothing.
I just uploaded pictures from my digital camera to the computer and now it wont let me modify them. I am panicing! It deleted them off my camera and now I can't upload them anywhere or even modify them. I'm losing my son's memories. This is the only time I didn't "Name" them when uploading because it said it was optional. Any other Windows I have had would just automaticly name them for me and no problem. Now I can't modify and save. It tells me: Changes to this picture have not been saved. The file may be read-only or you might not have permission to save to the pictures location. They are not read only. I went into the properties and checked. This is so horrible. I have never had to deal with this. I even took a mock picture and named it when I imported it and I can do what ever I want to that picture including save modifications.
I bought a set of speakers for my laptop and in the process of trying to get them to work I seem to have somehow disabled my internal speaker. Now my computer keeps telling me that I have no audio output device installed. I'm not sure how to get things working again - either the newly purchased external speakers or the internal one which has worked just fine up until now.
I have a laptop (Dell XPS M1330) running Vista Home Premium 32bit featuring an HDMI port and, as far as I can see, a soundcard called SigmaTel High Definition Audio. I regularly watch videos on my LCD TV using HDMI and I am constantly annoyed by the fact that the audio output doesn't automatically switch over to HDMI when the cable is connected (or vice versa when the cable is disconnected).
One would expect it to do so as this is how it generally works when f.ex. headphones are connected and indeed, on my laptop, the audio switches from speakers to headphones automatically without any problems. My solution to the problem is to manually change the default output device to HDMI and then restarting the media player. I cannot see why this operation cannot be automatic, and therefore I ask of you all if there is any way to accomplish an automatic switch from speakers to HDMI when an HDMI cable is connected
I just added more memory to my Dell Insperion 530. Which is very simple. But now the speaker icon in the lower right has a red X. When I put the arrow on it I get the following: "No Audio Output Device is Installed".
