I have an Asus G 50vt, a few days ago I had it hooked up to a stereo system and tripped on the wire connected to the Audio jack. The Headphone jack now has half of the head stuck inside and I was unable to remove it. I am wondering if there is a way to reassign the headphone output to the Line in or Mic in jacks?
View 6 RepliesSo today when I go to plug in my headphones into my laptop, the video I was trying to watch today still is playing through the main speakers. I tried multiple pairs of headphones and it still didn't work. The volume coming from the speakers doesn't even shut off, it just keeps playing even though I have headphones plugged in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a GW M6307 with Vista HP 32bit. The headphone jack has suddenly stopped working. I have done a restore back to when it was working..uninstalled and reinstalled audio drivers without results. The IDT control panel indicates something else is plugged into the jack both for the mic and HP. I also reinstalled the MS audio drivers that came with the machine. I cannot find any default anywhere to change any setting regarding this. The laptop speakers work but the default to HP when plugged in does not. The speakers conitnue to play with no sound in the HP.There are no indications of a loose connection and the laptop sits on a desk most of the time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to do is have my headphone to have a different audio stream than my speakers so that I can talk to a friend through my headset and receive the voice audio, but to also have through my speakers sound from other programs. Basically I just want the system to recognise the speaker and my headphone as different output devices instead of tieing them together. The software I'm using is Realtek Audio Manager and it hasn't been helpful whatsoever, I've had two computers and I've had the same problem with them both.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I mananaged to get my Old HP PSC 500 to work on my HP Pavillion a6030n with VISTA gave up on the scanning part totally. Bought and installed a new I/O card to do this and tinkered for days! NOW, I realize I have NO SOUND searched all of the threads and experimented with various and sundry but to no avail. The speakers were old JBL PROs had been working changed them out for some old BOSTON speakers (also working on old Gateway) still getting the "No Audio Output Device Installed" and don't even get a "Sound and Video" portion in Device Manager!
Tried downloading Realtek AC97-Audio-Codec-driver-A397 as it was mentioned as a fix in another thread. No joy! Will installing another driver help this? I can't see why the card would be damaged as the previous install didn't go near it. I am not a total novice but small words would be helpful as my brainmatter is fried and not a lot of hair left on the head.
i have had no problems with my audio on my vista 32, until i recently put 4GB ram into my computer, switched it on and works fine, only problem was i lost my audio/realtec, i dont know why this happened, and i am unsure how to correct it and get it working again

I have tried downloading the latest driver, but it still doesn't appear to install. All troubleshooting guides just tell me to enable the device, which is impossible as it says it is not installed as opposed to simply disabled. I have never had this problem before, as my laptop has in built speakers. how to solve this so I can actually get sound?

When it turned on, it told me it "could not connect to windows services," and that I should check the system event log. I tried, and it said the log is unavailable and to make sure it is running. Also, my sound has vanished. It is telling me, "No Audio Output Devices are installed." On top of that, my wireless internet is failing. It tells me that my wireless adapter (D-Link Rangebooster G Desktop Adaptor) is not available, even though when the computer starts, the LED on the adapter lights, then goes out......
View 4 Replies View Relatedso i just got internet to my computer after almost 2 years of it being out of commission, it still worked and we were able to play games like solitaire and the sims but there was no internet hooked up to it. it installed all kinds of updates and one night i was listening to music via wmp and the next day i went to listen and it said "no audio output device is installed"
i tried updating the device and it said that my driver was up to date.
i also tried uninstalling it and rebooting my computer and that didn't work.
i don't see any error messages in the device manager, i clicked the icon with the little magnifying glass and nothing showed up.
i don't know what else i can do, besides take my computer and throw it into traffic.
i have alot of music on this computer that i listen to on a daily basis and would hate to have to switch it all to a new computer, or even buy a new computer for that matter just because my speakers aren't working.
I had to use my restore disc for my windows vista. Since then I have no sound. Have red x on volume and it says no audio device installed.I have treid the uninstall and letting the computer install again, but that didnt work.

Now my computer keeps telling me that I have no audio output device installed. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop (Dell XPS M1330) running Vista Home Premium 32bit featuring an HDMI port and, as far as I can see, a soundcard called SigmaTel High Definition Audio. I regularly watch videos on my LCD TV using HDMI and I am constantly annoyed by the fact that the audio output doesn't automatically switch over to HDMI when the cable is connected (or vice versa when the cable is disconnected).
One would expect it to do so as this is how it generally works when f.ex. headphones are connected and indeed, on my laptop, the audio switches from speakers to headphones automatically without any problems. My solution to the problem is to manually change the default output device to HDMI and then restarting the media player. I cannot see why this operation cannot be automatic, and therefore I ask of you all if there is any way to accomplish an automatic switch from speakers to HDMI when an HDMI cable is connected
I just added more memory to my Dell Insperion 530. Which is very simple. But now the speaker icon in the lower right has a red X. When I put the arrow on it I get the following: "No Audio Output Device is Installed".
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed SRS Audio Soundbox on my HP laptop running vista ultimate with Realtek HD audio. It installed a audio device of its own, which I can select under control panel->sound. SRS Soundbox panel is set to start with windows. But I only want to use SRS to process audio coming out of Zoom-Player, so I have setup Zoom Player to use this audio device instead of default Realtek. My problem is that everytime laptop restarts or wakes from sleep (essentially everytime SRS's control panel starts), SRS makes itself the default audio device, which I have to go and change back to Realtek. Is there a way I could lock-up the default device, so it wouldn't change?? or do something else so that Realtek stays the default audio device.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have evga motherboard with built in Realtek HD audio (ALC883). Board features 2 ports for digital audio (optical and coaxial). and according to manual both are output. However when installed vista drivers one of the ports has been chosen as digital output (optical) and another as digital input (coax) (i can see that when i hover the mouse over the jacks in "Realtek HD audio manager") Is there any way to make the coaxial port as an output port instead of optical? My my HT reciver has no free optical ports so i have to use coax to get some sound from the computer.

I do not know much about it as it is not mine, but the problem is the audio was cutting out and now there is nothing. The computer is not recognizing any type of audio device installed. Even in Device Manager, there is no option for Sound, game and controllers. I have tried downloading the driver and installing, but no luck there.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIve recently installed vista ultimate 64 and previously in xp i could set the speaker setup to be headphones in the sound options, however in vista there is no selection and its setup as just speakers. Ive set in x-fi modes and console etc to be headphones so everything is fine then but im slightly miffed as to why its saying speakers in the control panel -> sound section in windows not the x-fi. It also shows it as a speaker icon and not headphones so i dont know if this is conflicting.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting no sound out of my speakers(2.1), when I plug them into the green jack on the rear panel it says that I have plugged in the pink and black jacks, but neither of those are plugged in. I've spent hours on the phone with HP and looking on the internet but i can't find any solutions. I've updated every possible driver. Every now and then I can somehow get sound by messing with settings and restarting or doing a power drain or a million other things, but as soon as I restart the computer they aren't working again, and the same solution never seems to work twice. Also, when the sound does work, it still says the black and pink are plugged in.

2) Rear speakers are working fine for playbacks. Rear jack microphone is working for recording but the issue is the audio being recorded cannot be heard from speakers. After I stop recording I can play and hear the recording but not while I am recording it.
Has someone faced this and has some solutions for me? Let me make it clear that same hardware works absolutely fine when the OS was XP. I had a fresh Vista install couple of days back on hardware with Intel motherboard, Intel core 2 duo 946GZ Express chipset. I have every possible (also all optional) latest update for the OS. I have installed latest drivers meant for Vista (audio and graphics accelerators) downloaded and installed yesterday from Intel site.
Ive got a problem where the mic is only picked up once it is unplugged and plugged back in again. Ive updated the drivers and put a splitter in the mic jack to try and stop the socket from wearing down. The problem is I have to remove the splitter and plug that back in for it to pick it up now. Its an Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775 PCI-E Onboard Audio ATX Motherboard running onboard sound with realtek drivers.

Im trying to help a friend fix their sound on their HP Compaq Presario F500 (2EA)Laptop. They have the annoying red cross over the audio icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen (No Volume Mixer).
I have tried numerous things like:-
- Completely uninstalled the (Conexant High Definition) drivers in device manager, restarted and let Vista install them again.
- Downloaded latest drivers from RealTek,, and also HP
- Unfortunately their are no system restore points before the problem happened.
I have a sneaking suspision that either Windows Update installed something that is clashing with this problem or I herd that Itunes may have somethign to do with it (Which was installed near the time).
Dose anyone knows if they make a printer cable: I received a new lab top and it didn't come with the older printer jack on the computer. I guess I need to use one of the usb ports? My Epson 660 still works I hate the idea of getting a new printer when my old one works.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI m using, Vista Home Premium 64bit with sp1 Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard which has a realtek ALC883 sound chip (a 7.1 chip but its limited to 5.1 on this board as standard) im using the Coax output on the back which is contected to my 5.1 sound system. and im using the R1.89 realtek HD audio driver codec (have tryed R1.88,R1.87a,R1.87, and the ones that came with the motherboard R1.57). i can only get 5.1 sound when i play a DVD in WMP, Media center and the realtek digital out put test works too. But when i try playing games (crysis,call of duty 4 and so on) im stuck with dolby pro logic 2.1 and i also can't seem to see the digital output on the realtek manager either no matter what version i use. also the jack info seems a little odd to me.
