Aug 12, 2008I'm running Windows XP SP 2 and I get an error message whenever i connect my blackberry curve to the computer. if the usb device is stopped, it will go away, but other than that it won't disappear after clicking cancel. if it helps, I installed the roxio media manager only yesterday, when the error first came up. In system's hardware devices under Sound, Video and game controllers there is: Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture devices, Media Control devices, SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio with a yellow exclamation mark and Standard game port and Video Codecs. I have uninstalled the Soundmax three time and everytime I re-installed, I would get the yellow in a triangle and a warning saying it is corrupt.

Jan 8, 2007Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this?
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose.
Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.

I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.

Jan 31, 2005Every time I reboot the computer, skype (since it launches at start up) tells me that there are no sound devices. I go to the device manager, but the sound device is listed. It doesn't work though. I try winamp/wmp etc, no sound. So I do a uninstall, and redetect and its all good. Now if I reboot the computer, I have to repeat this whole process. Now, I thought this had something to do with the onboard audio, so I diabled that in the Bios, and added a pci sound card, but the same thing happened.This computer also has issues with WinXP sp2s firewall. The latest version of the driver and operating software from the C-Media website is dated December 2004.I have two hard drives, both the exact same type (Western Digital WDC 3200JB, 320 GB), both with Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 installed. On my second hard drive, I continue to be able to play DVDs on any of my DVD player programs that I wish, with no problems. However, on my primary hard drive, I have run into problems. Some time ago, I don't remember anything about what might have caused it, both Windows Media Player 11 and InterActual Player 2.6 (http://www.interactual.com/) stopped playing my DVD's. I could still use InterVideo WinDVD or my ATI Radeon X700's DVD playing software, with no problems, but WMP and IAP stopped playing them. WMP would give me an error that, when I clicked "Web help," said it was related to my Sound driver. I went to Windows Update and downloaded the following update:
