Blue Screen With Error Windows 2000 Winlogon.exe Error?
Sep 22, 2008After around 10-15 min after logging in a program error box opens up saying winlogon.exe fatal error then it switches to a blue screen saying fatal error c0000021a error. I have windows 2000 proffessional and a HP compaq nc6120 laptop.

Apr 17, 2006When I boot up my pc. I get a "WinLogon.exe" ERROR. I did a search on it and I read that one should only be concerened. if that file is located anywhere else other than in your C:WINDOWSsystem32. So i did a Search on the pc, and it was the only location it found.
One other weird thing.I was running a 'Ad-aware SE Personal' scan, and immediately it detects" Modules Identified "and then that "WinLogon.exe" ERROR appears...and then (I guess its called my 'theme') changes to something totally different, then the pc

Dec 8, 2004Im getting this message when trying to restart windows XP. i get it even when i try to enter into safe mode. If I click on either option it restarts the machine. I cant even get access to the safe mode of windows

The other problem I'm seeing is that I have no desktop icons, and when I try to create a file or shortcut on the desktop, nothing happens. I can right-click/new, but it doesn't appear.

Apr 28, 2006My computer has been catching a lot of viruses, mosty trojans, and I just got McAfee re-subribed but everytime I start my computer it gets to just before the logon screen and an error occurs. It says "The Instruction at "0x100096b0" referenced memory at 0x01568000". The memory could not be read." It gives me two choices either to press ok or cancel. Either way the computer screen turns black and a minute later it appears at another black screen telling me that something failed and to shut down the computer. I have tried opening up in safe mode and running McAfee, AVG, Spyware Doctor, and Registry Mechanic.

To make it short and sweet, if I right-click on any folders or on the hard drive icons in My Computer explorer.exe freezes. I have a program called HDDLife Pro (trial version) that says my hard disks are at 53% and 85%. The program measures the current tempurature and how much life is left on your hard disks. There are no tale-tell signs of a failing disk either.

Started To Install OS / Get Blue Screen Error Message Before It Boots
Nov 14, 20062 SATA Raid hard drives with striping.I'm having problems installing Windows XP Pro on my machine. When we first started to install the OS on the machine, I kept getting a blue screen error message before it boots into setup saying ERROR 0X0000007B. And then after that it started showing up book disk failure. Instead of SATA we tried just one EIDE HD, we switched memory, new cables, new powersupply, we switched the vcard. And just recently we finally switched the Motherboard. Now when we boot off disc we get an error message saying "boot disk failure". So we ran a boot setup windows xp floppy. It gets all the way to where it asks for "please insert windows xp installation cd" and when I do it doesnt recognize it but I hear the CD spinning. We've switched out the CD-roms with 2 different ones and still can't get any progress.

I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.

Aug 15, 2008Last week i installed windows XP Pro on my desktop. It has a 250GB hard drive which has 1 partition (C drive only), NTFS offcourse. I did not format it while installing windows as it has lots of stuff in it. There's over 50GB free and i�ve been removing a lot of stuff from the hard drive to make up some space but in windows i get an error message that i don't have enough disk space, the disk cleanup utility runs cant free up space and i can not install or copy anything in the hard drive. I've noticed that when i deleted some file holding (or not) the shift key the free size goes lower although the files are being deleted from the hard disk.

Most everything I own is in a storage unit, boxes to the back, furniture to the front and guess where my disks are? Right! I put printer, shredder, disks, everything I didn't just HAVE to have in the storage unit.
