some websites that i open either the pictures or the text is blanked by red for example when i click on google where it says google or suppose to say google its just a red rectangle .

Whats happening is it's not printing the text of documents but if i insert a picture it will print that with no problems, even printing from the internet it will only print pictures. I scanned something that was only words and it printed that. I thought maybe it was the black ink cartrige so i put a new one in and it still isn't printing. If i put the words in a different colour it will print them just not in black.

I am using xp and have a laptop with xp. I use a linksys router for the laptop. I recently switched from DSL to Cable, since the switch there are a few web sites I cannot get to open up. Aafes.com, hotmail.com, support.microsoft.com.....and a few others. Most sites open fine but....I have checked my router, it's fine. I have bypassed it and gone straight from the modem still doesn't work. I have hooked someone elses laptop up to modem and guess what??? They opened them just fine. So I'm back to me. I'm so frustrated and confused. Please any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

My desktop wallpaper changed and won't change back and all my folders and things that were on my desktop are gone, but when I search for them it says that they are on my desktop and I can't right-click on anything. And if I make a new folder it doubles. And certain websites won't open for me (mail.com, lavasoft support boards, and urbanoutfitters.com). I've run Norton, Spybot, Ad-Aware,and Ad-Away.

I have begun experiencing problem with IE6 not displaying pages for any url or IP address entered in the address bar.This occurs when there is an Internet connection (dial up). The browser will display web pages from files on the computer. (Windows XP sr2)I have concluded that this is an IE related problem, since Netscape 7.2 works properly.When I open IE6 with an Internet connection, the title bar indicates that my default homepage is (will be) displayed. There is no url shown in the address bar and no information displayed in the status bar. The mouse hourglass icon is displayed for as long as the browser is left open.

Then went to internet options and unticked the "tsl"option in Advanced tab,again no luck! Thus iam not able to manually download updates.The XP pro has SP2 and SP3 installed. All the drivers are in place.To add to my woes ,SAS PRO and MBAM are not getting updates too!To survive i have installed AVG 8 Anti-virus and it too is not getting updated! I have turned off the windows firewall and the Comodo Firewall Pro. The KIS 2009 disk is not installing as it is not being accessed by the dvd drive( please see my post in "General security"). Wifi connects to a known router no problem but actually accessing sites can be a pain. I often have to refresh multiple times in the browser (happens in Firefox, Chrome and Opera) to get it to finally load the page. MSN also struggles to connect, as do the likes of Dropbox and anti-virus. Most web pages / resources do finally load up if I try enough times but it's very, very time-consuming

When I place a text or document file from my account into any other account, they cannot open them as they used to be able to. The last file that I can open between accounts was created on 11/29/2006.This is not just limited to Microsoft Word for Windows, but for files made in Excel, WordPad, and NotePad txt files as well. I think it should be easy to check, for it's probably a recent Windows Update, but the trouble is that I recently had to format my hard drive and start over, so I don't know which of the 200 or so it is that I had to download. View 12 Replies View Relatedi've had problems with my computer background for months -.- and it's really getting on my nerves. i'd like to find a solution to my problem.. when i right click my desktop, click properties, click desktop.. and browse and find the photo i want to set, it looks fine in the preview but when i apply it, half of it is off the screen in the corner. i tried changing it to stretch, center, tile, i re sized the image to my exact desktop size, i also tried different resolutions and still no change! please if someone can help.. i've googled this Many Many times but none of the solutions worked for me, i've also tried multiple images... View 2 Replies View RelatedMy up to date anti virus told me the other day that it detected a trojan virus but that it was treated or whatever. well, today i go to get on my computer and all the websites say they cant be displayed or that the web browser is not working or my cookies are disabled. I have done all sorts of things that i read on here, i updated my Microsoft updates, i went to privacy and lowered that, i restored defaults on internet options and stuff. After all this I was able to see websites and check my email. But there is still stuff i cant do. I cant pay for my ebay, i cant play my games at yahoo. It directs me to a page with a little white box and some red and blue shapes in it. I am glad that i was able to at least get on the internet but i also need to do a few things.

I also have spywareblaster from javacool site and a popup blocker.The main type of websites I have trouble viewing are websites with e-cards. I can view the e-cards but when I click on them to view to send..I get the tiny box with the red x in it.One in particular is the Hallmark.com site..I only get a blank background with the box & red x on the main page. If I go down to the e-cards and click on it.I can see the e-cards but again, when I click on one to send, nothing but the blank with the box & red x.Also I have tried to download the Macromedia Flash Player. I click on the download box, the next page that comes up, there is nothing to click on, only a box with the red x. That is as far as I can get.
