Unable To Boot Without Seeing Blue Screen Showing Lack Of Memory

Im currently in the process of bringing my PC back from the brink. St present I am unable to boot because a system32/hal.dll is not present. Before this I was unable to boot without seeing a blue screen showing a lack of memory. I have been having problems for a few weeks now. At first just a little slow down and the occassional crash, but it has recently escalated to large scale slow down and fatal errors causing the pc to reboot. From the performances menu in Task Manager I can see large large CPU usage peaks with the processor running at 100% consistantly with no programs running. Simil;arly, on startup the PF usage is settled around 200MB but gradually increases over a matter of minutes until it is 2 or 3 GB+. This is usually about when the system declares a fatal error and reboots itself.
The only process that appears to be taking processor power at these points is svchost, that will usually run between 0-1%. I have been aprehensive to end this though as I know it to be a core process. I also had similar problems with lsass.exe. I researched and figured it could be the Welchia Worm or MSBLAST.D virus but have found no trace with any anti virus software. I tried the suggested treatments regardless with no success. A couple of days ago the problems got to the point where no prgrams would open and the system rebooted every few minutes. I managed to rectify this by reinstalling windows, but it appears to have been short lived. Now, after a fatal error the PC has been unable to reboot.

If I leave my computer on for extended periods of time I either get some kind of error message about memory (white letters on blue screen) or windows displays only my desktop background and mouse cursor when I wake it, the only way to fix either of these is to unplug the computer and plug it back in.

I'm experiencing a great problem with Windows XP Professional.It keeps shutting down (sometimes, I activate the screensaver to prevent it), self-restarting or showing blue screen (the one that's suggesting me to deactivate caching and/or shadowing).Then, yesterday, I realized that it's also unable to burn discs or copy the big files from them (he activates that blue screen again).I tried to reinstall Nero and almost every driver, but it didn't work. I tried it with the older versions, too.

My desktop computer has been running windows xp for a long time. It also has a linksys wireless card that connects to a router in my home. Yesterday, I tried to run an ethernet cable from my router to my computer. The computer crashed/froze almost instantly. I decided to re-start the computer and again it crashed/froze. The reason I wanted to do this is because I want to connect my linksys wireless card to a gaming console so I can play games with people all over the world. This required me to change some of the settings on my network card. This time I changed the settings before connecting the ethernet cable to my computer. When I connected the cable, my computer showed the wired cable icon "searching for ip address" then I got the "blue screen of death" saying that windows crashed due to some form of network/hardware problem. I restarted the computer and in a few minutes I got the blue screen again...

add some more ram to my Laptop which was working really well,
untill today when i turned it on.
blue screen showing "Physical Memory Error" please contact techincal support.

I am running XP Pro and have been getting the bsod physical memory dump for some time. I have replaced all the memory in the machine, thinking that could be it, based on what I was told.Now, I get this almost every time I reboot. I have the event logger going so I will post what it says.I even took pictures of the screen when it happened just today. I have set aside a partition on a computer to be Virtual Memory. It is something like 1488 MB. When I went to change the Virtual Memory settings so it will use this partition, I got a blue screen and had to reboot. I kept working with it and finally got it to accept 100 MB for the lowest and 1400 for the highest setting. However, after reading more, I think the 100 MB should have been higher. It won't let me change it to anything else

Have a Dell Dimension 2350 at home with XP as the OS. Rarely use the PC because it is on NetZero's free dial-up. Has current CA Internet Security Suite too.
Getting the blue screen occasionally when I start NetZero's free dial-up program. The blue screen will appear right as the PC is trying to open up a Internet Explorer window, after the dial-up connection has been made successfully. The blue screen states to disable BIOS, but I don't have a clue how to do that

I have been getting the blue screen of death on my Dell Inspiron 600m running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP2 w/ Intel Pentium M processor 1600 MHz 299 MHz, 1 GB of Ram (only hardware not factory - installed recently). I was given this laptop as a Christmas gift as the donor received a new one on boxing day It was given to me with this error and I suspect it is from the new(er) memory installed but cannot be certain as I have no references to go on. I had enough of this reoccurring error very quickly so I reinstalled the OS clean and fully updated the system with Microsoft updates including SP2, the computer also has quite a bit of expensive software I installed and is virus free according to trend micro IS PC-cillin 2007.The memory that came out of this unit is in with the laptop bag stored in the new memory packaging, the new memory is: Times Two(2) units = KTD - INSP8200/512 (512MB Memory Module) Equiv. Dell(R) P/N: 311 - 1356 (Sodimm DDR Inspiron) whatever that means! My computer was working a minute ago. I decided to restore it. I put the disk in, except it belonged to my other Sony computer. The computer message was that it was the wrong disk. So I took it out. I rebooted the computer and got the blue screen of death it says Dumping physical memory to disk and started at 0 and got to 60. I figured it'd explode at 100 LOL so I better shut it down. I rebooted several times but that always comes up. I rebooted and hit F8 I think it is which gave me the option to reboot the hard drive, a floppy, or the DVD drive. I did one at a time, rebooting in between each choice. I still have that screen. Did I totally ruin my computer? Oh sigh.I can get to nothing but that screen. No control panel.I then figured I couldn't make it much worse, so I put in the Windows XP disk to just install Windows XP again, but the computer wouldn't even pick it up. The disk was spinning, but the screen remained the same.

I am a computer science/engineer major and I know somewhat a lot about computers, but this is my first time seeing this blue screen. My computer will start up to the compaq screen then goes to windows xp and then it flashes a blue screen for a split second. I was able to freeze it, but do not know how i did it, but it said something about a cretain system32 file is corrupt. there is a corrupt hive. complete physical memory dump complete. contact tech support or system administrator. right now, I am out of town and i have been reading about it and they say something about using a recovery console. I do not have my XP disk with me. I was wondering could I use anyone's XP disk and how do i fix this problem with no disk or using a XP disk?

When start my PC, it shows upto Windows Logon Screen and from there a Blue screen with Memory Dumping Started message occurs. I don't know what needs to be done. When I tried to re-install the windows, the Hard Disk got crashed. I replaced the Hard Disk and when I tried to install the Windows 98/2000/ XP, I faced the same problem. I tried installing windows thru different machine assuming problem with my Mother Board. But the same was repeated.

My computer shutdown and on boot up it hangs at the black screen showing the white bar at the bottom. I have Windows 98 and 2000 on my computer and neither will boot up from C:, CDROM, or StartUp/BootUp disks. When I try to boot up from the Windows 2000 boot up disk it sometimes will not get passed the blue screen showing 'Windows 2000 setup. Once or twice it has shown some functions in the bar at the bottom of the page. I have tried to boot up using Windows 98 start up disk but most times it hangs at C:. Last night it did open Windows 98 but would not let me reinstall 2000 or do a repair. It now is hanging in both OS. I am told it could be my memory...but how do I check? Upon start up my memory check shows all is okay. I have ran the utility disk for my hard drive and it says all is okay. Before I invest in new memory is there anything else I should check or try? My computer is older and the memory is quite expensive.

When my computer boots up, about 5 seconds after the desktop loads, my screen turns blue with the Physical Memory Dump Error

It boots up in safe mode fine, I have tried system restore and ran multiple virus/malware scans.

My laptop has started to freeze at times,then the screen would blackout then appear with a black screen with a blue box inthe middle giving BOOT DEVICE OPTIONS Hard Disk Drive, CD-ROM/DVD, Floppy Disk Drive, LAN Boot it froze blacked out and now keeps going to this option page ,where as before if you turn off then on it rectified itself.

when I turned on my computer and got the blue screen of death, so I restarted my PC. Then a black screen came up saying "Windows could not start beacuse the following file is missing or corrupt : windowssystem32configsystem."
You can attempt to repair this file by putting the winxp cd in etc...
Now when i turn on my computer there is just a black screen showing, with nothing at all on it.
Any ideas?

When i turn on,first Windows screen appears,then a blue screen blinks,then hp screen,then a blank page with cursor on the top left,then a screen with the message"we apologise for the inconvinience but Windows did not start successfully.there was a hardware or software problem.I tried to run it in Safe mode, Windows normally,last known configuration but no luck......Then someone suggested to Get into the Recovery Console by making a Recovery CD with ISO image but the machine is not responding to any of it.Is it with CD/DVD ROM drive or any major hardware problem???...I ran a self hard drive test and it seemed fine

Encountered a Blue Screen of Death error. The error stated that I should run Chkdsk and then proceeds to restart and bring me to the Windows boot selection screen (safe mode, last known good configuration, normally). No matter which choice I pick, it always leads to the BSOD then restarts. Since this is getting me nowhere fast, I want to just format and reinstall windows. I do not have my recovery CDs, and when I enter the BIOS to change the boot sequence I cannot change it so the CD drive is above the hard drive in priority. The reason it gives me in the bios is that "All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode. If any items require changes, please consult your system supervisor. Any ideas on how I can boot off the cd and reinstall windows from scratch?

What should I do I'm using ERD Commander 2005 and that let me boot into my computer but its limited I've never used ERD Commander before I've tryed a few things but nothing has worked yet

I have a PC that has had Vista on it and am trying to install XP. I connected the drive to my other XP machine to back up some data from it and then used disk management to format it (NTFS). When I tried to install XP (SP2) from the CD it kept going to a blue screen. The blue screen says it has stopped windows due to a problem and give the stop code - *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0XF7CAE524, 0xC0000034, 0X0000000, 0X0000000)
I tried deleting the partition to see if the Windows disk would make it to the format but the same thing happened. It's a SATA drive that I am using.

on my computer and on others like for instance i have 1024 memory in my computer but it shows up as 1.0 gig in the info tab when right click on my computer ,, and on other computers i have installed stuff for they had 128 ram but it showed up as 96 megs of ram ,does anyone konw why it does this just curious thx..

I have a computer running XP Pro (recently updated from 2000) and I leave it on at night. I wake up every morning to the log in screen. When I run ccleaner, I noticed there is a big file called memory dump. I researched and got confused, but found one suggestion that said to make that file size smaller.
It happened again today and I am not sure what to do to fix it. It happened once when I was at my desk and I only caught "STOP: 0x0000008E" and then something about beginning of physical memory dump.

I have an XP Pro computer with SP1a. The computer started resetting itself after a blue STOP screen that flashed on for a fraction of a second shortly after the XP Professional startup screen. Since I couldn't persuade it to go into safe mode (or any mode), I tried a repair from installation CD. After about 20 minutes in the Installing Drivers section of the install it gives a STOP error saying that the CDR4_XP.SYS driver may be corrupt, and the error Page Fault in Nonpaged Area. It then does a memory dump and restarts with a Chkdsk and resumes installing drivers again. After a further 20 minutes the whole saga repeats itself. I have gone into the recovery console and get a warning message System Registry does not appear to have an active ControlSet key. I can then put in the Admin password and get into the console.

Well i built my pc along with my friend at the end of April. I have had it for several months now. After i first built it, it ran just fine for about a month then BSOD started to occur. I researched on the internet and i found a post that said to post my minidump so that they can see it. When i searched for the minidump it wasnt there, my final solution was to reformat. I reformatted and the problem went a away.

i just installed a 512 meg stick of memory in my laptop that should have given me 768 meg but in "my computer" it only shows i have 736 megs of memory. is this normal? it is a toshiba satellite with windows xp.
