Blue Screen Of Death / Dumping Physical Memory To Disk

May 19, 2010

My computer was working a minute ago. I decided to restore it. I put the disk in, except it belonged to my other Sony computer. The computer message was that it was the wrong disk. So I took it out. I rebooted the computer and got the blue screen of death it says Dumping physical memory to disk and started at 0 and got to 60. I figured it'd explode at 100 LOL so I better shut it down. I rebooted several times but that always comes up. I rebooted and hit F8 I think it is which gave me the option to reboot the hard drive, a floppy, or the DVD drive. I did one at a time, rebooting in between each choice. I still have that screen. Did I totally ruin my computer? Oh sigh.I can get to nothing but that screen. No control panel.I then figured I couldn't make it much worse, so I put in the Windows XP disk to just install Windows XP again, but the computer wouldn't even pick it up. The disk was spinning, but the screen remained the same.

Physical Memory Dump - Cant Boot

Aug 15, 2010

well, I managed to screw up my winxp reinstall in a big way. I'm very upset over it since its my sis-in-laws computer. Before, she could not access the internet, but at least she could boot up WinXP and play games, access her email and all of her programs on the desktop...now...nothing but the following popup error message:

Error: One of the files containing the system registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful

then the popup disappears and sends me to a blue screen (long) message starting with this:

Restart System Appear Blue Screen

Sep 24, 2008

I have an older computer running XP, no new hardware. Today I was viewing a site when all of a sudden I got a request from my antivirus (norton) and made a big mistake by doing a one time authorization. Some Program for scaning your system for errors or something like that came up. Almost immediately after that a message from norton came up to close all programs and do a quick scan (not full scan) for problems. I did this and was then told to restart the computer. When the computer tries to restart I get a blue screen that says among other things, problem probably caused by file: Beep.SYS Page fault in nonpaged area Stop: 0x00000050 (0x81000078, 0x00000000, 0xF77802FF,0x00000002) . Getting Blue Screen After Restart On A Constant Cycle?

Apr 14, 2008

Usually I use Linux (because its faster easier more secure and just better) but in the past week I have had to install Windows XP pro sp2 on a seperate hard disk for remote desktop connectivity with the Windows system at work.Installation wouldn't work for whatever reason, so I had to install win2000. I thought I would keep that on, but unfortunatly updates would not work at all. So I then relatively painlessly updated to XP and installed SP2. From there it was working, and everything about it worked (apart from in games I get odd white lines on textures, but thats probably for another thread).

If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x867670F0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

Blue Screen Flashes System Restart

Apr 6, 2008

My computer started being really slow and making a lot of noise so I turned it off but now it is not able to completely restart. Right now I'm using the IBM Rescue and Recovery browser so I can't do much besides check and see if I can get any possible help. I try to run Windows normally and it starts loading up then a blue window flashes and the computer restarts. I can't go to Safe Mode because it starts naming off a bunch of drivers then it just resets. I haven't done anything on BIOS because I'm afraid I'll just mess it up (all I really did was set it to default).
