Im getting: Stop c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file) SystemRootSystem32Config|SOFTWARE or its log or alternate and it goes on to say how its dumping physical memory.
Several times a day my computer jumps to a blue screen and says it is dumping the physical memory and counts from 1 to 100 and reboots. Just aggravates me to death. I am a senior citizen and not too swift on the computer operation, but I try.
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy computer was working a minute ago. I decided to restore it. I put the disk in, except it belonged to my other Sony computer. The computer message was that it was the wrong disk. So I took it out. I rebooted the computer and got the blue screen of death it says Dumping physical memory to disk and started at 0 and got to 60. I figured it'd explode at 100 LOL so I better shut it down. I rebooted several times but that always comes up. I rebooted and hit F8 I think it is which gave me the option to reboot the hard drive, a floppy, or the DVD drive. I did one at a time, rebooting in between each choice. I still have that screen. Did I totally ruin my computer? Oh sigh.I can get to nothing but that screen. No control panel.I then figured I couldn't make it much worse, so I put in the Windows XP disk to just install Windows XP again, but the computer wouldn't even pick it up. The disk was spinning, but the screen remained the same.

Physical memory dump on my xp sp2 system running 768 megs sd ram. Athlon xp1200 processor.This problem is happening more and more often. I have run avast, adaware, spybot, all come up clean.Sometimes pc is unable to recover and will keep coming back to screen for selecting safe mode etc.Tried to run registry cleaner I saw on your home page. But once downloaded and tried to run this, PC crashed again. Even now I am usure how long I will get on this site before something goes down.

It boots up in safe mode fine, I have tried system restore and ran multiple virus/malware scans.
When start my PC, it shows upto Windows Logon Screen and from there a Blue screen with Memory Dumping Started message occurs. I don't know what needs to be done. When I tried to re-install the windows, the Hard Disk got crashed. I replaced the Hard Disk and when I tried to install the Windows 98/2000/ XP, I faced the same problem. I tried installing windows thru different machine assuming problem with my Mother Board. But the same was repeated.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDell Optiplex GX240 with Windows XP. While i was asleep my computer crashed with a blue screen. I wasn't able to copy down the error message, but on the bottom it read beginning dump of physical memory I restarted the computer and after the Dell load page it turns into a black screen reading strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. F1 will only return to same message, and F2 leads me to setup utility. The only device that seems to be working is my A: drive. It says that my cd drive is not installed.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwell, I managed to screw up my winxp reinstall in a big way. I'm very upset over it since its my sis-in-laws computer. Before, she could not access the internet, but at least she could boot up WinXP and play games, access her email and all of her programs on the desktop...now...nothing but the following popup error message:
Error: One of the files containing the system registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful
then the popup disappears and sends me to a blue screen (long) message starting with this:

I was doing something with task manager today and I saw that it's only reading 780 some mb of physical memory when it should be reading a gig. Is there anything I can do short of taking them out individually and putting them in different slots to test them? I have a 512mb and two 256's.
View 6 Replies View RelatedEverytime I perfom a Spyware Scan on my daughters computer it reboots automaticly, with a short blue screen flashing up. And when I run a microsoft update scan the computer reboots in the same manner during that scan. Everytime the HD is getting scaned it reboots in the middle of it, with a short flash of a blue screen that talks about physical memory dump. Can somebody help me there. By the way I reformated the HD already and reloadet everything new on that HD, because it had the same problem before. Could it be the BIOS or a setting.

Everything will freeze, completeley and then it will go to a blue screen that says something like
HARD DRIVER ERROR:BEGINNING DUMP OF PHYSICAL MEMORY
which scares the living **** out of me, so I turn off the power manually from the power strip connected to my computer and switch it on again, sometimes, It'll start up and after it shows the Hardware and Window XPs loads, It goes to another blue screen that says HARD ERROR, instead of having me log in.

I am a computer science/engineer major and I know somewhat a lot about computers, but this is my first time seeing this blue screen. My computer will start up to the compaq screen then goes to windows xp and then it flashes a blue screen for a split second. I was able to freeze it, but do not know how i did it, but it said something about a cretain system32 file is corrupt. there is a corrupt hive. complete physical memory dump complete. contact tech support or system administrator. right now, I am out of town and i have been reading about it and they say something about using a recovery console. I do not have my XP disk with me. I was wondering could I use anyone's XP disk and how do i fix this problem with no disk or using a XP disk?

My virtual memory is 606 MB with 244MB free.I cannot access certain things all of a sudden -- for instance, when I click in the system tools to do a disk defrag it never comes up. When I click on the Set Program Access and Defaults it never comes up. View 11 Replies View Relatedlaptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot. After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.
Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. It is corrupt, absent or not writable'. I understand that the OS needs to be recovered from the XP bootup disk but the OS was pre-installed so I do not have a copy of this.

Cannot boot to safemode, also tried last known good configuration without success. I have also tried the microsoft KB 307545 fix but could not copy or delete the security file.
I did not add any new memory to my systeme. however, I did remove my current memory to access the inside of my laptop. The fan wire had come loose so I reconnected. I fixed that problem only to find out the problem with the registry. I have chose the load last known configuration that worked correctly but it still gives me the little blue pop up screen with the error, then the restart.
I tried to use my windows xp os disk to try and repair it but it wont read the disc before the blue screen comes back up. I'm thinking of buying a Laptop To IDE Hard Drive Adapter. So, I could at least format my hard drive. I'm not sure if this would be a good idea. I went to the microsoft webpage that deals with this issue but I can not seem to find one to fix my problem.

Now I can't even get it to come back to the other "STOP" error screen because every time I boot up my computer a window pops up labeled "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" and states The Dell system recovery tool has detected an unsupported change in your master boot record. The tool cannot run at this time."
My problem is a result of a long series of attempts to fix a corrupt Windows registry file. A few days ago I booted my laptop and received a blue screen error: c0000218, relating to a corrupt Windows registry file. Windows could not load. After a lot of searching online I found a way to manually replace this and four other related files from the c:WindowsRepair folder using the command prompt.
This process seemed to work and Windows began to load. I then received a lsass.exe error saying something about invalid passwords. My laptop began an infinite cycle of restarting itself. I looked up the lsass.exe error and people seemed to think it was unrecoverable. As my hard drive was reasonably small (100g) and had been showing some signs of problems I decided to just buy a new one. I went out and purchased a new 320g 2.5" hard drive along with a 2.5" USB drive enclosure and another 1g stick of RAM......
