I found that my XP (English version) is not able to put non-English characters in correct order, so that my Thai dictionary doesn't work properly. Here are some details. In Thai language, some vowels are on the left side of consonant, but when ordering those words with vowels on the left side, we don't consider the vowel is the first character, but XP does. I need to introduce 3 Thai characters in order to illustrate this problem more clearly.is the first consonant in Thai language, ข is the second, ไ is a vowel which is on the left side of consonant, such as ไก and ไข. Now we put these 2 consonants and 2 words in proper order,In the shop where I bought that dictionary, it works pretty well, but I didn't notice what system is was.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen you move programs around in your WindowsXP start menu, the OS will stop arranging it when you add new software. This happens when you move items from your user start menu to the all users start menu. Here is the fix:1. Open regedit (Start -> Run. Type regedit)2. Navigate to Remove the order key by right clicking and going to delete.4. Log out then back in.I wish they would include a feature that was in Windows 2000 that let you resort the start menu!

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the Import and Export Menu in I. E. and point to the CD Drive where I have inserted the CD containing Favourites, Windows XP asks me to contact the Administrator. Why can't Windows XP be intelligent enough to verify that I myself am the Administrator and sole User of the Computer, as can be seen from the Users in Control Panel?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSay I have 5 music files in a folder and I select them all to play, ctrl-a, then right click and say play (in either Winamp, or Media Player 10) and what I get is file 5 on top and starting to play and then 1-4 below it. This happens on all my XP Pro computers. I have searched Google news groups and can only find that other people are having a similar problem but I have yet to find a solution.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen inserting a file, usually a picture file or even uploading a picture file onto the internet, a window will pop up and you'll see a list of files to choose from. Here, sometimes the files appear as "Thumbnails" and arranged by "Type" but sometimes they appear as "lists" and sorted by "name." Each time I would have to right click and change "view" and "arrange icon by" to my preference, which is sometimes 'thumbnails and modified,' and sometimes 'type and name,' depending on application. But, as soon as I am finished they would go back to the default view that is either 'thumbnail and type' or 'list and name.' And I have to do it all over again. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that each setting remains unchanged?

View 13 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I received advice on how to repair WinXP by typing an alphabetical sequence in the "Run" dialog box of WinXp (similar to "msconfig", "dxdiag", or "regedit" ). It would launch a self-diagnostic utility & then WinXp would prompt you to insert the WinXP2 Disc to repair the installation. Can anyone please remind me of this command?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.

Both generate the same error: "Internet (or Windows) Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The details show that ole32.dll is the guilty module.
