Odd Sorting With Pro

Jun 29, 2005

Say I have 5 music files in a folder and I select them all to play, ctrl-a, then right click and say play (in either Winamp, or Media Player 10) and what I get is file 5 on top and starting to play and then 1-4 below it. This happens on all my XP Pro computers. I have searched Google news groups and can only find that other people are having a similar problem but I have yet to find a solution.

Folder Views And Sorting

Sep 13, 2005

When inserting a file, usually a picture file or even uploading a picture file onto the internet, a window will pop up and you'll see a list of files to choose from. Here, sometimes the files appear as "Thumbnails" and arranged by "Type" but sometimes they appear as "lists" and sorted by "name." Each time I would have to right click and change "view" and "arrange icon by" to my preference, which is sometimes 'thumbnails and modified,' and sometimes 'type and name,' depending on application. But, as soon as I am finished they would go back to the default view that is either 'thumbnail and type' or 'list and name.' And I have to do it all over again. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that each setting remains unchanged?

Sorting Pictures To A Sequence In My Pictures.

Dec 1, 2008

I have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.

How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
