Play Movies Hang In Every Time
Aug 22, 2010when i play movies in any player it"s nt played smoothly it hangs throughout the movie;i have tried different players including vlc,gom etc.this problem happen with few movies notwoth all so how to solve this.

VLC Media player plays the dvd, but only half of the audio is played.If anyone knows how to fix that, then that would be great.Also if I try using Media Player Classic then it plays choppy/slowed down video and audio.I also tried AVS Media player, but that would start to load the video and stop at 3% and never get any farther.I am not sure how that program works, but it seemed like it was trying to rip the dvd and then play it or something.

Aug 23, 2008Sorry to start a new thread but my old one will not come up on my computer. I have HP Media and I am running XP. My drive will not read the movies and every disc I put in there reads blank. If I right click on the drive, it shows that there is nothing on the disc twhen in fact there is. I did a restore to an earlier date before the problem as recommended and that did not fix the problem. Also, when I push the button to open the drive door, it opens and closes and doesn't stay open as it should. Everything was fine one day and then the next day for no reason, the drive is malfunctioning. I hope it is something simple and will not require a new drive.

Nov 10, 2008I was using my comp yesterday and the right & left click functions of the mouse stopped working in IE. They worked fine on the task bar. I rebooted and it took almost 15 minutes to come back up. CPU usage is at 100% all the time. Needless to say it barely runs it's so slow but everything seems to work. I rebooted into safe mode and cpu usage is normal but I can't seem to find the hang. I also ran msconfig and disabled all the startup items and service items, XP seems to start. things occur normally up to the splash screen, but just after that is where it hangs.

So I have a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ processor running on a Gigabyte mobo (I can get the model no. if needed) and a BFG GeForce 5500 AGP card. I have 2 Crucial DDR-333 512M sticks and a WD 80GB SATA drive.Now when I run Windows and basic apps(IE, Outlook, Firefox, etc) But when I run a few games like World of Warcraft, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, etc. Occasionally it will just hang the PC. No error, just looping sound and freeze frame.

Aug 6, 2005I have a Pentium 2.7gHz, and Radeon 9550. A short while ago, my Pc started to hang (at random times, usually when I first turned it on in the morning, it would hang at the XP Load screen, sometimes at the logon screen, and other times just during normal use.)
This problem became more prevalent, so i decided to try a repair install. It now hangs during this install as well. This computer is currently useless.

We have to manually turn the computer off and back on and it takes several minutes before it comes to the main screen. I did a system restore, turned off the screensaver, ran a virus check with Norton 2004, and it is still occuring and has hung up 5 times today. Apr 4, 2007I get random application hang up. I can't end the program. The restart command will not respond. I must push the main button until the system shuts down. The system starts again without difficulty.The Windows XP Event Viewer shows no system errors. In the application window it simply shows Application Hang with the Event 1001/1002 combination. I can't seem to find any really useful information on these event codes. The problem has become a daily occurrence.
