when i play movies in any player it"s nt played smoothly it hangs throughout the movie;i have tried different players including vlc,gom etc.this problem happen with few movies notwoth all so how to solve this.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Pentium 2.7gHz, and Radeon 9550. A short while ago, my Pc started to hang (at random times, usually when I first turned it on in the morning, it would hang at the XP Load screen, sometimes at the logon screen, and other times just during normal use.)
This problem became more prevalent, so i decided to try a repair install. It now hangs during this install as well. This computer is currently useless.
I have a HP computer with Windows software and starting yesterday it started to hang up and stall. We have to manually turn the computer off and back on and it takes several minutes before it comes to the main screen. I did a system restore, turned off the screensaver, ran a virus check with Norton 2004, and it is still occuring and has hung up 5 times today. We do not have internet access to this computer, so I do not think there is a virus on it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn starting up my computer, after the Windows screen with the 'flashing' bar lights up, my computer hangs for about 60 seconds with a blank black screen before my desktop appears.Now the strange part. I've just installed a DVD burner in the slot where I used to have a CD burner. On installation I started up my computer with the cover off, and Windows started immediately - no hang at all. On replacing the cover, the hang is back. Co-incidence? I don't think so. I thought it may have been software related but now have no idea whatsoever.

View 11 Replies View RelatedRight, everything else works just fine on this computer, including loads of games, new and old, programs systerm etc.I have had problems with the Raptor drive but have had a replacement sent and installed ok I'm trying to run Need For Speed : Most Wanted : Black Edition.I can play just fine for anything from 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hours then the sound loops, the display goes blank and the PC shuts off.I have re-installed windows, defragged the drives (took days), re-installed drivers, swapped hardware, played in 2000, 98, NT modes, turned off SLI (turned it back on again) just about everything i can think of.I have loads of other games but it's really frustrating me that i can't play this without it crashing the system.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSorry to start a new thread but my old one will not come up on my computer. I have HP Media and I am running XP. My drive will not read the movies and every disc I put in there reads blank. If I right click on the drive, it shows that there is nothing on the disc twhen in fact there is. I did a restore to an earlier date before the problem as recommended and that did not fix the problem. Also, when I push the button to open the drive door, it opens and closes and doesn't stay open as it should. Everything was fine one day and then the next day for no reason, the drive is malfunctioning. I hope it is something simple and will not require a new drive.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhenever I try to play music it doesnt play, it says low on memory, whenever I open any Microsoft Word program it gives me some error about a license, and whever I try to copy and paste anything, it doesnt let me. I have a few partitions on my hard drive and whenever I copy one file or a folder or anything, I cannot paste it anywhere. If I open Control Panel, the screen doesnt appear as usual, all the icons are on two columns on the lft side with a scroll bar next to them. If I try to open Add/Remove programs, it comes up all garbled. I was going to just reformat the whole computer but it will not boot from the cd rom drive now. And whenever the computer is booted in W2K and I try to browse the CD in My Computer, it just says "Please insert disk in drive...." Also, whenevr I restart, it sits on my desktop for about 5 minutes before it finally brings up the icons and everything. It has never done any of this, it just started this morning.

The date goes back to Nov. 2003. Once I correct the date, time and year things seem to perform ok.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using my comp yesterday and the right & left click functions of the mouse stopped working in IE. They worked fine on the task bar. I rebooted and it took almost 15 minutes to come back up. CPU usage is at 100% all the time. Needless to say it barely runs it's so slow but everything seems to work. I rebooted into safe mode and cpu usage is normal but I can't seem to find the hang. I also ran msconfig and disabled all the startup items and service items, XP seems to start. things occur normally up to the splash screen, but just after that is where it hangs.

So I have a AMD Athlon XP 2200+ processor running on a Gigabyte mobo (I can get the model no. if needed) and a BFG GeForce 5500 AGP card. I have 2 Crucial DDR-333 512M sticks and a WD 80GB SATA drive.Now when I run Windows and basic apps(IE, Outlook, Firefox, etc) But when I run a few games like World of Warcraft, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, etc. Occasionally it will just hang the PC. No error, just looping sound and freeze frame.
Since Windows has been released several time zone changes have occurred, and beginning this coming year the Daylight Saving Time period will change in the US. Specifically, DST will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November). Thus, Microsoft is releasing an update to address changes that have or will take place in several countries. The update will be delivered automatically to Windows XP SP2 users starting December 12th (or can be downloaded now by clicking here) and will be included in Windows Vista.
