Help Some program or something keeps changing my home page t.swapx and win-eto.com. It is doing it at the registry level, and I have virus scaned and spyware scaned with spyware stormer.but nothing seems to be working.

If I right click on my ISP provider and click "open home page" then it will come up. I've tried various "solutions" yet still have problem. Even when the home page is up, the other is lurking behind it.

I like Excite as my home page,but am having trouble loading it on the XP machine. I have checked these forums and Googled it, but can't seem to find an answer to my particular problem. When I attempt to load Excite,all I get is a blank page with a left and right arrow and pause button in the middle left of the page. The address is correct on the address line.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the error message that there is "Not enough paging file or virtual memory" and instructed me to change the paging file size. Which I did.My RAM is 256MB btw.
Here's a pic of the Virtual Memory ctrl panel:after changing the page file size, the "Currently allocated" file size is still at 0 MB. No matter how many times I've changed it (Yes I've clicked Set everytime) and rebooted my PC, it's still at 0 MB. And then the error message keeps coming out at every reboot.Here's a pic of the Performance Option control panel.
My daughter's PC has the XP Home SP2, but I want to change it to XP Pro, but the disk I have is only XP Pro SP1, when I inserted it and tried to install, I got a warning message. Any problems with doing what I wish (after Pro install, I would then download/install the SP2 patch for XP Pro). How do I get around this current challenge?

When I tried restoring my Microsoft Outlook 2003 files to my machine from a Novastor 7 backup, the files
restored, but I only get "Access Denied" messages when I try to access them in any way. I'm assuming, because of the the old permissions.How I can regain access to them?

Zone alarm asked and I accepted.When I did all Weather bug added them selves to my address bar (at the top along with back, stop, refresh, home, etc.putting 2 icons that were not there before, their icon along with another showing what the weather was. Also weatherbug put in a 'search bar'like yahoo has.I certainly did not ask for this.My links bar disappeared. The links that were showing on the bar below the address were now listed on the right side as links, which I had to click on to get the list of what was originally showing.I am using XP.I could not get the link bar back, I didn't know how, so I used the restore point from yesterday.Now my home page looks like it should.Actually my question is, I am really irritated with Weatherbug, I don;t like that they just took over my home page and changed it.I am thinking
of deleting the program and using another weather program. What weather program would you suggest in place of Weather bug?

I have windows XP SP2.I was able to go into the registry, with the help of another forum, and delete the offending file. Now my home page is white with my general icons, (I used to have the pretty beach picture of windows XP). I can't seem to restore the picture.I have also discovered the same file in "my computer" in system 32. When I press delete the icon disappears for about 3 seconds and then returns. The files name is "Twain Tech" and in system 32 as "Twunk 16" and "Twunk 32"

I was able to eliminate it using both McAfee and SpywareBot. Though I noticed that I am no longer able to apply a desktop wall paper.
Every time I try I get a prompt that states: Can not find file ///F:/WINDOWS/privacy_danger/index.htm. Make sure the path or internet address incorrect.
What would I need to do in order to correct this "error" if that is even possible?

But this is a new day maybe a year or so later, NOW I do have Real Arcade again and the puky Realplayer and now again on my Comcast homepage in the lower left corner I am getting that little yellow warning Icon. Wehen I double click it I am told my page may not be dislaying right, and then when I go get details its obviously tied up with RealMedia ads and maybe Symantec ?? heres what the details say: Line 48 Char 3 Error 'SymRealWinOpen" is undefined Code: 0 then this which takes me nowhere: url:http://oascentral.comcast.net/REalMe. the numbers in the long url are always different but everything around them is exactly the same.
