I am trying to install XP Home Edition on an ECS KT600-A motherboard with an 80 gig hard drive and I get a message on the desktop that the VIA CPU to AGP 2.0/AGP 3.0 Controller is missing.
The message also states that the driver I need to correct this problem is on the VIA AGP Filter Driver Disk. I have tried to find this disk to download it but I have not been able to find it.
Does anyone know where I can download this disk? If so, what is the webaddress where I can download it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedOur offices have many Lenovo computers, 2004 vintage, no model name shown anywhere. The original driver disc is long lost, but for all but one of these, Windows XP finds built-in drivers that just work. Here is my chronology for the Bad Box that doesn't just work, there's really no alternative except to put the files that the box wants on the drive. To do this, I put the blank drive in one of the other Lenovo boxes (identical hardware in every way) and used XXClone to make a bootable clone of that other drive, put it back in my Lenovo and it booted fine, video looked great. I noticed that this system had never been updated and was running the original flavor of XP (confirmed in the properties of "My Computer"), so I downloaded Service Pack 2 and installed it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA few of our DNS servers are reporting Event ID 3000 periodically. Full logging is on. There are no failure entries prior to the event. I can not find much on TechNet either. I see that this is a problem for others in other forums, but I could not find a resolution on any site. Anyone have a cause and resolution? Details of the error entry:
Event Type:Warning
Event Source:DNS
Event Category:None
Event ID:3000
Date:3/13/2006
Time:6:21:05 AM
User:N/A
Computer:domain controller (changed name)
Description:
The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events. To determine the initial cause of these run-time events, examine the DNS server event log entries that precede this event. To prevent the DNS server from filling the event log too quickly, subsequent events with Event IDs higher than 3000 will be suppressed until events are no longer being generated at a high rate.
When I tried to power on my personal computer this morning, I got a series of 6 or 7 beeps the first 2 times and my personal computer didn't turn on. The third try did turn it on. What does this mean? Is it indications of serious problems?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a certified used Lenovo laptop, 3000 C200, 8922-2FU. On booting up, the Client Security Setup Wizard comes up and it has no place to click where you can tell it not to come up again. I do not want to use this feature so each time I have to click cancel and then again click, yes I am sure. Very frustrating. I have tried everything. I called tech support but they did not know so they are researching it and said they would call back.

For protection I have: McAfee Firewall Norton Anti-Virus Spybot Search and Destroy Ad-Aware SE Personal CW Shredder iClean and the XP Security Centre. System seems to be running slow and not it self. Downloaded unregistered version of 'Registry Mechanic' telling me I have over 350 errors with system, but don't understand what or where these are.

My wife said that it had completed some updates this AM when she turned it on. This computer has a GE7600 video card. It also runs very hot so I'm wondering if perhaps the card might have cooked. Should I try to reinstall the driver?

1/ disabaling all non-essential internal/external devices (ie switch off BIOS in BIOS / unplug).
2/ slipstream SP1a
3/ slipstram SP2
4/ Upgrade from Windows 9x
5/ Upgraqde from Win2k.
6/ Changing video card
The only thing I havent tried and am doing now is checking BIOS upgrade.
MS Wireless mouse 5000 with MS Bluetooth dongle. I bought the set to install on my desktop eMachine, XP w/SP3. The idiotic instructions only showed inserting the batteries into the KB and mouse and then inserting the BT transceiver into a USB port. Nothing. And the KB and mouse don't have buttons on the bottom. The worst thing is that all the MS articles I've read reference the "Bluetooth Devices" icon in the control panel.
When I bring up the CP, there is no BT icon there. I've done the command line "btprops.cpl" and nothing happens. I've turned the PC off, booted back again, and no plug and play detection of the BT dongle. When I go into the Device Manager, and check the properties of both the KB and mouse, both say they are installed and working properly! The KB and mouse set came with an installation CD and that was it. No freaking user manual and I can't find one on the CD.
1.Problem connecting to computer
2.When connecting flash cable no installation screen
3.yellow question mark on device & driver in device manager
4.no help / support screen when activated

I have a user here who changed the password but the fingerprint scanner did not seem to recognize the change since when you first set it up it asks for your current password. Once setup correctly all you have to do is scan your fingerprint and it logs you in.
