Apr 3, 2006i dont really have problems with the games im useing its the way my pc is running, i uasuly play bf2, it uasuly loads a level in around 20 seconds but now it will take anything up to 2 minutes! i have 1gb of ram and seems like its running on 512mb!, ive checked my cpu and it looks fine i also tryed reinstalling the game but that didnt help either

Jan 12, 2006Home Built, ASUS MB, AMD 2.7 gig CPU, 1 gig memory, SATA HD main, with ATA133 HD back up, Nvidia GeForce 6200 264MEG video card, Creative Audigy sound card, Windows XP Pro SP2, 500W PS, Sony CDRW and Sony DVD RW.Here's the problem, It does not matter what game I am playing, except for MS Games from windows, I get the blue screen of death and normally saying that my drivers are out of date or there is a problem with them. Sometimes it will say I have a memory error.I have cleaned and/or replaced all fans and heatsinks, checked for bulging caps, burnt or damaged ICs Resisters, diodes, transistors, etc. Reinstalled all divers and updated them with latest from factory. System works just fine on IE, Mail, IMs, MS office 2003, etc.

Sep 14, 2005My computer (crashing and rebooting during gameplay) I'm wondering if it could be the card driver maybe not compatible with something? I have a Radeon 9550 graphics card and a ECS661fx-m motherboard my radeon driver is the catalyst 5.8 a long shot I know as all the driver's iv'e had installed made no differance. I tried the driver verifier and that just left a mess, as soon as I started it the comp went into reboot opened the desktop and then went into reboot over and over again(that was in safe mode) the only way to stop it was to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows xp I got so fed up with it that i'm waitng for my new motherboard a Abit a-17 guru 865pe in the hopes that might work if not its a new graphics card and it wont be a Radeon.

Lag problem started after I ran those programs. I am curious if the spyware removal proggies didn't take a file or two that I need for internet connection.I know there was somewhere in win 98 that I could check windows for missing corrupt window files and have them replaced and or repaired can you do that with XP and how do I get there ?

Apr 16, 2005whenever I try to play music it doesnt play, it says low on memory, whenever I open any Microsoft Word program it gives me some error about a license, and whever I try to copy and paste anything, it doesnt let me. I have a few partitions on my hard drive and whenever I copy one file or a folder or anything, I cannot paste it anywhere. If I open Control Panel, the screen doesnt appear as usual, all the icons are on two columns on the lft side with a scroll bar next to them. If I try to open Add/Remove programs, it comes up all garbled. I was going to just reformat the whole computer but it will not boot from the cd rom drive now. And whenever the computer is booted in W2K and I try to browse the CD in My Computer, it just says "Please insert disk in drive...." Also, whenevr I restart, it sits on my desktop for about 5 minutes before it finally brings up the icons and everything. It has never done any of this, it just started this morning.

Feb 1, 2005I thought it was this new game i installed, it would lag about every minute and a half, for about 10 seconds at a time. So i uninstalled the game. The only problem is now the computer seems to get bogged down much easier (running AIM and windows media player at the same time makes WMP songs slow), and enters 10 second "slow periods". This never used to happen.

Apr 3, 2010I recently bought a refurbished Dell OptiPlex GX620 computer that came supplied with XP Pro S2 and S3 installed, a DVD/CD RW device and a floppy drive installed. I installed a Nero 6 program that I used with my old Win 98SE system and was able to copy files and folders from my old computer to be transferred to the new one. Yesterday (4/2/10) I tried to play a DVD and nothing happened. I chose to run E: and saw the various chapters available on the DVD but when I went into Media Player 11, it told me that it could not play the DVD. I tried another DVD but got the same notice. The notice window suggested that I move my video resolution down to 640Xxxx and lower my colors down to 16 bit from 32 bit. I also tried that but no joy. Can anyone suggest what might be happening here? I have a 3.6 Gig processor in this rig so I don't think it's a speed problem.
