whenever I play a certain game on my computer, Championship Manager 2006, it says that my Virtual Memory Minimum is too low? I have 256 mb RAM and I don't know how to fix this problem.

I have Microsoft Windows 2000 and the following settings: total paging file size 205 MB; minimum 2 MB; Recommended 190 MB; Currently allocated 205 MB; current registry size 21 I'm not the system administrator so I can't change these numbers. I also couldn't find the pagefile.sys that someone suggested looking for. My IT guys don't know what's wrong; they reformatted my computer but I got this error message again. What should I tell them to do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm stuck have a friends XP machine that is behaving oddly. When it boots, in normal or safe mode, I receive a dialog box once the user selection screen is displayed with the title "virtual memory minimum too low". Then an explanation that XP is going to re-adjust it. At this point everything is hung. At the time I got the machine, there indeed was only 200M left on the C drive, but even when I expanded the partition and gave it 25G free, I still get the message.To make matters worse, I can't seem to boot any CDs in the drive so I have to work on the drive on my machine.This also means I can't boot an XP disk to do a repair/re-install. Was it really low and now just can't get past the message even with the expanded drive?

I also tried to install Microsoft Office Word 12, it came up there is not enough memory on your disc space to run Word. I got fed up and was going to delete some old Microsoft Updates but instead deleted as many temporary files I could and cookies as well.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHome Built, ASUS MB, AMD 2.7 gig CPU, 1 gig memory, SATA HD main, with ATA133 HD back up, Nvidia GeForce 6200 264MEG video card, Creative Audigy sound card, Windows XP Pro SP2, 500W PS, Sony CDRW and Sony DVD RW.Here's the problem, It does not matter what game I am playing, except for MS Games from windows, I get the blue screen of death and normally saying that my drivers are out of date or there is a problem with them. Sometimes it will say I have a memory error.I have cleaned and/or replaced all fans and heatsinks, checked for bulging caps, burnt or damaged ICs Resisters, diodes, transistors, etc. Reinstalled all divers and updated them with latest from factory. System works just fine on IE, Mail, IMs, MS office 2003, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer (crashing and rebooting during gameplay) I'm wondering if it could be the card driver maybe not compatible with something? I have a Radeon 9550 graphics card and a ECS661fx-m motherboard my radeon driver is the catalyst 5.8 a long shot I know as all the driver's iv'e had installed made no differance. I tried the driver verifier and that just left a mess, as soon as I started it the comp went into reboot opened the desktop and then went into reboot over and over again(that was in safe mode) the only way to stop it was to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows xp I got so fed up with it that i'm waitng for my new motherboard a Abit a-17 guru 865pe in the hopes that might work if not its a new graphics card and it wont be a Radeon.

Played this game for a yr with NO problems. Lag problem started after I ran those programs. I am curious if the spyware removal proggies didn't take a file or two that I need for internet connection.I know there was somewhere in win 98 that I could check windows for missing corrupt window files and have them replaced and or repaired can you do that with XP and how do I get there ?

When I hit OK, all my applications would close, except my Outlook. I'm running Win2K with 512 memory. My computer is only 1.5 years old. I didn't play any games or download anything so it's not heavily used. But why the message then?
I don't really have a problem on my hands, but I would like to ask a few questions relating to Virtual Memory and Memory Leak.
I downloaded a game back in December, but hasn't been installed as yet. I heard that it is created using "C++" or "C" (whatever it is), and I learned that it has a memory leak. My Virtual Memory was running low (it may already have beforehand) by the time the game was installed. My computer crashed two days later as a result.
But some users haven't experienced any problems with the game. My question is, is it a better idea for me to install the game on a CD-ROM or USB Drive and play it from that media type (instead of from the hard drive) so that I can protect my PC from crashing due to low virtual memory?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having problem of virtual memory on this laptop,when I boot my laptop,it takes a long time to get to the desktop screen and then an error messege appears saying something like "The system is too low on virtual memory and need to increase the size of virtual memory".I do understand something about virtual memory usage I have checked the Peformance tab in Task Manager and the paging file usage is 960MB.Under Physical Memory(K),it says available memory is 35888 or something less then that. The CPU usage goes down and than shoots up to 60% or sometimes even higher. Could it be an over heating issue?Please note that the base of my laptop gets really hot.I have even checked the virtual memory performance in System Properties and the paging file is happening at Drive C:I wanted to know that should I change the setings of virtual memory?Should the remaining partitions like D: and E: be assigned paging file instead of C drive?
