Aug 6, 2005In Windows XP, where do you find the touchpad options for laptops? I've looked at all the driver devices and I can't seem to find anything.

Frozen Touchpad - Uninstalled And Reinstalled The Touchpad
Feb 17, 2006I have an Acer 2312 laptop running WXP. The cursor can not be moved by the touchpad. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad and its drivers several times wih no success. Device manager tells me everything is just fine. The cursor responds normally to my wireless mouse so I can live without the touchpad but I don't feel comfortable when something malfunctions; particularly when I don't know what caused the glitch.I have searched the sites of Acer and Symantic and found no useful information.If anyone has a clue on what the solution Is I wouldmuch appreciate hearing from you. stewart

Jul 17, 2009I need some helpadvice about installing 2 operating systems on 2 different hard drivers.
I have Windows XP x64 bit on one of the HDD, and I have bought a new HDD,I would like to install the same operating system on the new HDD,how do I do it? Just plug-in the new HDD and install a new OS on it?Or do I need to detach one and then install the os on the new one?
I can't find in the internet information about installing the same OS on different HDD only about different OS.
Cannot Find The Accessibility Options In My Control Panel
Mar 15, 2008I cannot find the Accessibility Options in my Control Panel.I switched it in the Classic view where I can see the icons but there's nothin' there! Even in the accessories in the start menu...what can I do to find it? Or is there any way that I can install that option in my system? I'm using winxp pro service pack 2.

Mar 24, 2008I am trying to network two laptops together via Ethernet cable rather than through the wireless router, as I am trying to transfer large files quickly.I am using a Dell Inspirion 8100 and a Sony Vaio PCG-Z1A.I was able to connect the Vaio PCG-Z1A to a MacBook Pro via Ethernet cable just a couple of days ago, so I don't think that the problem is with the Vaio.When I plug the Dell into the router with the Ethernet cable, it automatically detects the connection and DHCP assigns an address. Thus, I can only assume that the Ethernet adapter is working fine. But when I plug the Dell directly into my Vaio with the Ethernet cable, the tray icon on the Dell says "Local Area Connection - A network cable is unplugged."

I asked her if they were all wireless or what and this is what she sent me via email.Both laptops are and I think the pc we just took in the basement is because it was connected to the printer wireless. Oct 21, 2005Okay this is driving me nutso - I have checked the RD client on the PC side and there is nothing to turn this off anywhere...
I have a desktop which I always have Num Lock on as it has its own dedicated keypad. The problem is when I Remote Desktop into my laptop my laptop does not have the dedicated keypad the numbers on the keypad portion are actually 1/3rd of the letters on the keyboard (I.E I,O,P would be 7,8,9) when numlock is on. It's fine until I disconnect and I go home...
When I get home I start typing as I normally would but half the letters look like numbers because the Num Lock is still on from when I used Remote Desktop to connect in.
I know the obvoius solution is to turn off Numlock on my PC before I disconnect Remote Desktop from the Laptop but I really just want the Laptop to revert back to its original keyboard state once I disconnect...
Anyone know of a solution?

When it boots up, it goes to a black screen and has Windows XP Pro and Windows XP listed with the Win XP Pro selected and boots to it in 15 seconds or so if nothing is selected. Jun 24, 2008Dell Insprion 1200 laptop has a frozen touchpad pointer. I know this isn't the most desirable computer but she only uses for e-bay and e-mails. It was in the shop a couple of weeks ago to have the AC plug in the back of the computer changed. It seemed to work fine for a couple of days before the pointer froze. I've turned it off and unplugged the battery and AC cord, reinstalled both and turned on, pointer still frozen. I tried Fn + F9; still didn't work.
