Hi. I really hope someone can help me. Today when i turned on my laptop, i found that the left button on my touchpad would not work, and neither would double clicking the touchpad. The right button seems unaffected. Unfortunately, I can do very little with my computer now, as I cannot click on anything. Using the keys, I managed to do a system restore
I have an Acer 2312 laptop running WXP. The cursor can not be moved by the touchpad. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad and its drivers several times wih no success. Device manager tells me everything is just fine. The cursor responds normally to my wireless mouse so I can live without the touchpad but I don't feel comfortable when something malfunctions; particularly when I don't know what caused the glitch.I have searched the sites of Acer and Symantic and found no useful information. If anyone has a clue on what the solution Is I wouldmuch appreciate hearing from you. stewart
I just got an insprion 6000 running and the touchpad has a mind of its own, not responding well at all. I've tried to adjust in control panel w/ no sucess.
when i rebooted my computer, the touchpad didnt work i went into the mouse drivers and i didnt see my touchpad installed Im thinking that a virus may have knocked out my touchpad driver
A LG netbook turned it on and the cursor is just stuck there in the middle of the screen. I don't use a mouse, just the touchpad, so I can't even attempt to do anything. Everything else seems to be working fine in the background upon boot up and on the desktop, but the cursor won't budge. Tried to open control panel but obviously can't do that with the cursor stuck. Any options the DON'T involve me having to buy a new USB mouse
I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 laptop with Windows XP Operating System. Recently, the mouse begins to move on its own without me touching anything usually the left bottom corner but it could be other directions as well. When I use the touchpad, the mouse moves but I am competing with something stronger pulling it to one side so I have trouble controlling the mouse in general. Since the Inspiron has two types of laptop mouses (the touchpad and ball), I have to use them both in tandem to actually move the mouse
I have a pavilion dv9000 notebook running XP and every time I change the pointer speed for the touchpad to its fastest setting it will reset itself to the default setting after I shutdown and reboot. I need the touchpad on its fastest setting because of the wide screen and the fact that I don't always have my wireless mouse w/ me. is having a Logitech wireless mouse installed. The setpoint.exe program for the wireless mouse runs in the background whether or not the mouse is connected.
I've got an HP Pavilion ze4400 on which the touchpad doesn't work. I can't be sure whether it's a faulty device or if drivers aren't installed. In Control Panel, under Mouse, Hardware, only one device (the USB mouse I'm using) shows up. I'm not sure what the standard touchpad driver for HP notebooks is. Going through the Add Hardware Wizard and telling XP that the device is already installed, it then gives me a list of installed hardware to select from. I don't know what that driver is, if it's even in there. what the driver is this
i just got me a toshiba laptop and i was wondering how i can disable the double tap feature on the touchpad cuz i always seem to double tap it by accident.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with wonderful touchpad, which I do not want to work because I have a wireless mouse. I cannot seem to find a way to turn the thing off.
i've been having problems with my touchpad since i've reformatted my computer. I no longer have the software that controls, and i've attempted to disable it and even delete the driver in Device Manager, but it just doesnt work. disabling this annoying component
I have a client who has a Dell Vostro 2510. I installed the Alps touchpad driver which on all my other laptops has a disable tapping feature, but for some reason that feature is not present for this laptop Am I using the wrong type of driver?
I have a Dell Latitude c800 XP Laptop. The touchpad is too sensitive, I have the sound set at maxium volume some videos/programs are good at maximum volume but others I can bearly hear.
My Acer TravelMate TM802LCI notebook touchpad and left/right click buttons are not responding to any user inputs. Have tried reinstalling Synaptics driver to no avail. Currently using a wireless mouse connected via USB port. Touchpad version is v5.8 and hardware properties show it is connected through PS/2 port and is working properly. BIOS shows that the touchpad is enabled for both internal and external inputs.
Dell Insprion 1200 laptop has a frozen touchpad pointer. I know this isn't the most desirable computer but she only uses for e-bay and e-mails. It was in the shop a couple of weeks ago to have the AC plug in the back of the computer changed. It seemed to work fine for a couple of days before the pointer froze. I've turned it off and unplugged the battery and AC cord, reinstalled both and turned on, pointer still frozen. I tried Fn + F9; still didn't work. I also tried system restore and it still doesn't work.
I have a computer that quits explorer every time I try to click on the file menu, or right click on explorer and go to the new link. It also does this when i try to delete a folder in explorer or through my computer.
When I open a folder (MyComputer, for example), and try to right-click or double-click an icon to open it- it does not work. When I right-click the icon, NOTHING happens. When I double-click the icon, the icon gets highlighted, but the program or other folder does not open. I checked in the folder options, and it is set up so that when you double-click an icon, it opens the program. But the weird thing about it is that if I try to double-click or right-click an icon on my desktop.. it works like it should. So this really just doesn't make sense.
Many times when I single click on an item with my mouse, whether it be a program, a shortcut, or whatever, more often than not , it acts as a double click. When I double cliclk, it opens up the program twice more often than mot, also. I have the Folder options set up to double click so I don't know what's going on. I regularly run AdAdware, Spybot, and I have ZoneAlarm Suite running all the time
I can't enable virtual scrolling on my laptop Touchpad. The options are not "grayed" out in the control panel device settings, but when I try to click on the boxes, no check appears. The "Apply" button becomes active, too. I need to disable before virtual scrolling can be enabled
Could be something stupid I know but of late I have noticed that I get no menu pop up when I right click in Internet Explorer. I see nothing in the options and even when I reformatted my C Drive and reinstalled Windows I could still not get the right click to work. Any ideas, I know it is not essential, but I am a bit pedantic about these things and I do like everything to work if it is supposed to.
Every time I right click on something that little egg timer pops up and stays there for a good 15-20 seconds before the menu opens..Then when the menu opens I'll right click an option and yet get another delay before something happens
I use Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox Version 2.0.0.6 Browsers. No matter which one I use the following happens When I try to close a web page or program only a part of the page disappears and the part remaining gets stuck on whatever page or program is open on my desktop for up to 25 seconds... Can someone Paleeze help as I am at my wits end here.
I have outlook in a shortcut on my start menu. I only have to click it once, and it runs. What is the difference between it and other shortcuts that must be launched with two clicks? Can I make an arbitrary shortcut launch with a single click?
I can not Right Click on the Desktop of my PC. If I try to Right Click, all of the icons and the bottom toolbar dissapears for a second. The background is the only thing visible. And then it comes back after a second or two. Once ina while I get an error message but I cannot Right CLick to open a new folder or anything. It just turns blank. Here is what the error message said. Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. and here are some of the details:
The following files are included in the Error Report: C:Docume~1JLocals~1TempWER61.tmp.dir00appcompat.txt The other problems have been running slower than ever. Programs sometimes just close while running. There is a "Hmck?" or some sort of error every time I start the computer. (I'll have to restart it for the exact name of the error) I It just seems like this computer isn't running properly. It's a Dell Dimension 2350, about 7 months old. I have run virus scan and none show up.
This is so strange. For some reason I can't click on any link sent to me in an email (I use Outlook Express) or in a messenger program like MSN or Yahoo Messenger. it seems to be any link that would open a new window when clicked on.It was working fine this morning, but now I can't, even though I've restarted several times. All I've done on my PC today is remove a bit of spyware with X-Cleaner, and installed Windows Media Player 10. I've tried doing a System Restore back to this morning but it's had no effect. Does anyone have any ideas why this is?I'm on a laptop with a touchpad, but everything else is working fine.
