I recently changed my text handler from Notepad to Metapad cause I like it better. Could that be why it dissappeared from my right click menu? Anyhow, anyone know where this is in the registry. Oh yeah, I also have TWEAK UI but for some reason, in the templates, I can't create a new template there. I tried with Notepad.exe, and also with Wordpad aka Write.exe but I get an error message saying: "This document cannot be used as a document template."
I also have FRESH UI and in Fresh UI, I selected "New" context menu and added extention ".txt" (without the quotes) and it confirmed that I sucessfully added the extention but it doesn't show up in the menu, even after three reboots. This is strange because it was always there, the option to create a .txt document in the right clickNew but it just disappeared.
One more thing, as per some website, I created a folder in Windows called "ShellNew" and put a blank text file in it from Notepad and then did some registry editing in HKEY classes root/ .txt as suggested from this website and created a new string etc blah blah, where you point to the SHELLNEW folder where the text file was but this did not work either.
I have my resume in My Documents (Windows 2000) and yesterday, as I was updating my resume, I was thrown into 'paragraph format' (?) and there are tabs and other marks all over the document. The thing is Windows is sending me an error message. I'll stop here and look for responses.
I installed a new modem the other day cause the old one got fried. Now I am trying to print and the printer keeps giving me an error message, "this document fail to print." I tried all possible troubleshooting techniques but nothing help. I don't know what to do.

Every time I switch on my machine and try to connect to the internet, I get a dialogue box: Web page is unavailable while offline. To view this page, click connect. When I click connect, I can view the page and don't get the error message again until I switch off the machine. Why does this happen?
a message keeps popping up saying the following: Cannot load dialog. Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection. All I can do is click the close button and it goes away and nothing else seems to happen, but it pops up again in a few minutes.
I have a Dell Inspirion laptop and have formated the HD and removed the partions. Have tried booting from a USB HD and have also tried another burned disk. No change will not install.
Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this? Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose. Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.
i had XP 2008 virus/spyware, which I think I managed to get rid of with Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and System Mechanic 7. Now I have a new problem. After receiving a recent download from microsoft, upon restarting, I get the blue screen of death with this message; STOP: C000021a (Fatal System Error) The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
When I'm trying to start up Windows XP Home Edition I receive an error box without an error message, I can just click YES or NO. Neither option let's me continue. When starting up in Safe Mode, everything works fine.

I keep getting this error message when I boot. The entire message says, "windows explorer has encountered an error and needs to close." When I close the box, i lose my desktop, and can't run a bunch of programs, including the "run" option. I am able to run my browsers and get on the web. I did do a system restore, and it worked at first, but then on the next reboot, i got the error message again. Did another system restore, same thing.

When I turn my pc and windows loads up an error message appears saying that windows service pack 2 setup has encountered an error and has to close. However when I close the error message it keeps popping up every 20 seconds or so. When I went to microsofts website that told me that service pack 2 was installed on my pc. I have ran a full viral scan using the latest version of Panda and have also ran Reg-cure to see if the problem was in the registry but the error message still keeps popping up.
I'm getting an error message of exp.exe everytime I turn on my computer. It will load and then it will give me that error. Then, after about 2 minutes the computer will freeze.

Windows pops up an error message box, with an "ok" box in it. The server app cannot be restarted until that silly box is clicked in. This is very irritating to me, because it only crashes when I go away from home, of course, when I need the watchdog most
When I start up my PC I get the following error message after logging on: Error loading C:WindowsSystem32ridge.dll I'm on an XP platform. Is this a serious prob ? How can I rectify it ?

Each time I re-boot my Windows XP sp2, I get an error message on a blue screen: "AU program not found Skipping AUTOCHK". In the control panel, the Security Center shows Automatic Updates is ON. Doing a support search on the Microsoft website, a Repair Reinstall of XP will cause problem's in- it- self.
I have a user who has this error coming up. I removed and reinstlaled the webshots software, but the error remained. Error MEssage:Swebexec.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being generated. The webshots works after you click cancel. What the heck can I do to fix this and remove the error.
On start-up, I get a series of paired error message that look like: First error message: Windows cannot find 'box,box,box... (where box is actually a graphic rectangle charater)Second error message: Could not load or run 'box,box,box...' in the registry. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the registry. This happens every time I start and I can click through to continue - but obviously something's off and I'd like to fix it. Though I'm not crazy about editing the registry, I'd do that to fix the problem, but I don't know what to search for.
Trying to install CD rom program, I get the 16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem error message. C:WINNTSYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.I found a suggested fix for this, someone sent me to the c:windows..epair file, but my computer can't find that at all. I'm on Windows XP.
For the last day or so, my computer seems to not function correctly. For example, today, I had five windows up (IE, Trend Micro Control Panel, My Documents Folder, Windows Media Player, and Photoshop) and I tried opening an eBook pdf file. When I did this, I kept getting an error message. I did this two or three times and the same thing happened. I closed Photoshop and tried opening my eBook pdf file again and this time it worked. Is my RAM going bad? I'll notice if I have six or seven windows open, IE starts to act up as well by not showing all of a website's images, form fields, etc. I know I've installed a GoToMyPC application in the last week or so. I have disabled, so it doesn't open when Windows starts, but I'm not sure if that was the problem.
I'm getting this error message when clicking on my shortcuts on my desktop.I get this same "win32 error" with all my shortcuts on the desktop.A little history...I did do SP3 Removed Opera IE 7
I was recently trying to uninstall my AVG Virus scan program and during the installation I received this error message - Error: checking of state of the item file link _ All_Users_AVGW_Desk failed. The directory is not empty. (145)
Very confident about your capacity to assist here.Windows won't start up on my badly-infected WinXP PIV. It gets past the logging on to windows prompt and then this error message comes up userinit.exe application error (0xc0000005) and Windows then fails to load completely. This also occurs in safe mode and I haven't been able to bypass Windows and boot directly to DOS by using the F8 key on startup.
