ok couple days ago i downloaded a keygen for this program,and yeh it messed my cpu up,i tried doing a system restore and i keep getting an incomplete messages,does any one know why i keep getting that message,i do a virus scan,ad aware scan,spy bot search and destroy scan and it still comes up as incomplete
View 6 RepliesHe has managed to get an infected program. the OS has crashed to the point it will no longer enter window. The laptop still works fine only no OS I am going to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS unless anyone has any better ideas. We do have a Ghost image to backup from.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a program from Ebay and after installing it I noticed it didn't have a uninstall. I used my add & remove program to uninstall the program but not all of it got uninstalled. I deleted the folder and then did a search in my registry for anything with refernce to the programs name "Ebay's Blackthorne" and deleted all entries with that name.Every time I reboot windows tries to install something for Blackthorne and I have to keep cancelling it out.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIt started yesterday when I got the DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has failed window hundreds of times. I managed to stop that by deleting it from regedit which I did back-up. All the other problems I've been having are still here though. When I start windows, before the login screen, I get an error message from spoolsv.exe. After I login, I get my desktop backround and mouse pointer but nothing else. I run task manager and am able to run explorer from there. Everything starts up but many progams fail, most of which I have no idea what they are. After visiting many sites regarding the DrWatson problem, I downloaded many anti-virus programs such as Spy Sweeper and Spybot but they fail when I go to run them. I've tried free online scans but they stop in the middle of scanning. No problems with my browser, the scans just stop. I would love to simply re-install windows but my CD drive won't open, not even when I use the pinhole. System Restore fails when I run it

Now each time I open any program I get a box titles "Run As" with the following message: "Which user account do you want to use" It has two radio button choices, one is me (current user) and my log on name and the other would be if I wanted to select another user. It also has a box to select saying "protect my computer from unauthorized program activity". I have to respond to this box before opening any program and I cannot find a way to stop it from appearing. How do I get rid if this?

Thing is though when I go into the folder I see five files totaling 192k in size with names like "java run time environment 1.5.0" But when I go outside of the folder and click on properties it tells me there are 22 files in there totalling 22.2mb in there. Whats up with this? I have "show all files" enabled under hidden folders. Why can't I see these files?

How would it have gotten there? The only programs that I have recently installed are Webroot Spy Sweeper 4.0.3.363. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been dealing with Java problems.I downloaded, deleted and redownloaded the Java program from Sun Microsystems or something like that and I know you don't speak highly of Wild Tangent as one time you had me delete it from a highjack list with another issue. Anyway, when I try to download the Java from Wild Tangent (MS) and install it this is the error that I get, "The Microsoft Virtual Machine you are attempting to install is a protected system component and can only be updated with a later release of the operating system or service pack." When I click OK, it says that the Installation is complete but windows doesn't detect any Java. Pogo will not work with either of the Javas that I have tried to download and I'm understanding from this error that this is the reason.

I'm on my friends computer right now due to the fact that mine has crashed since this morning. I come home from school to find that I am out fo windows and theres a message on my screen stating that my system32 file is corrupted. I have a cd that came with my computer and I can get into command prompt dos through it. Is there a way to fix this to just to redo the system32 file through dos instead of having me have to lose all of my work and reinstall windows.

It does this all the time, even in safe mode. Symantec has mentioned that I should turn off NIS2005 and try system restore. If it then works it is a Microsoft issue. I checked, and the service was disabled (why?), so I set it for manual and restarted it, still received the error.Oddly, I was able to start it from a command prompt, which then allowed it to start from Admin Tools. What just happened here? Is that service normally disabled? If not, what would cause it to become disabled? Could a virus, worm, or rootkit have snuck in?

Everything seems to work OK, I can do all my normal tasks, everything looks great. New HDs, new PS, new install of XP Pro SP2. I can work for a couple of hours with no problems of any kind.At some point after just a few minutes of user inactivity, however, anything on the screen that happens to be moving, such as an animated "progress" bar, freezes for a second or two, then the screen goes black and the system crashes hard until reset/reboot. It's not merely the monitor going black, it's a full system lockup. If I have streaming audio going, say, it will stop at the same time. The system is fully crashed. IDE light is on permanently until reset. Keyboard input is ineffective.

It was working fine untill i tryed to turn it on this morning it turned on fine then crashed so i restarted it. It then loaded up normally with the "ACER" logo and options below (F2 for bios, F12 for boot menu and ALT + F10 for recovery thing) but it doesnt go any further, i can go into the bios , i can go into the boot menu and select a boot device and i can press the buttons for the erecovery but they all just go onto a black screen and i dont understand

I decided to get a printer that I had had before, Brother DCP-110C as I knew this had worked well. I tried to install yesterday (28th July) but could'nt and my PC keeps switching itself off near the end of the installation.
