Make Sp3 Bootable Cd From A Sp2 Bootable?

i have a windows xp2 boot able cd.recently i downloaded an executable of sp3 from the windows site..
around 6 months ago..my friend told me a way to extract the boot file from the disc n copy it using nero to make a bootable sp3 cd. i had one but i lost it.and now i dont remember how to do it again.

Fix User Init.exe Disaster / Loops Back And Throws Back Up

I did an AVG Rootkit scan which turned up "c:windows/system32/userinit.exe" as a dodgy file. I removed it and now the machine won't login when I boot the system. With a bit more digging it seems that this file was actually the login information within the registry and as it can't find a valid user/password it just keeps asking me click the user name and login. When I click it just loops back and throws back up the window, asking me to click the user name again.How I can access the registry and reset the userinit.exe file?I've tried selecting "last good configuration" which didn't work.I also tried to download Bart PE on another machine (running Vista) to set up a boot CD, but it wasn't particularly clear how to go about it, so I tried using the XP System Recovery app on the install disks. This got me into a C: prompt.

Unable To Find Back Up Disk / Creating Back Up Copy For OS?

I bought my Dell 4700 about 6 months ago and was just going through the discs that came with it. I remembered that the Dell did not come with a Windows XP install disc in case I need to re-format. Is this normal? There is an option under Start....Accessories....System Tools to create OS backup disc. Is that what I need to make a disc or should it have came with one?

When Viewing Thread / Hit Back Arrow To Go Back To Page

Are you guys having the same problem? Using IE7, when viewing a thread, if I hit the back arrow to go back to the page I was previously viewing, it doesn't move at all. It started acting weird a couple of days ago when it took sometimes two hits on the back arrow to go back. Now it doesn't go back to the previous page at all.

Need To Create Bootable CD

I need to do a clean install of Windows XP on a system that previously ran Windows 2000. I deleted the partition via the Windows Install/Setup menu, but when the PC boots, it lists Windows 2K as one of the startup/OS options. I need to be able to do an /fdisk on the whole drive and start from scratch. Unfortunately, I only have a basic Windows XP installation CD - and if there's a way to get to a prompt and do it from there, I can't remember. Could anyone direct me to a bootable CD that will allow me to /fdisk and delete and create partitions? I need something quick and fast. I'm not permitted to download or install anything without permission and my boss is out of town until Thursday. He may call in tomorrow (or he may not). So please, don't point me to Bart's PE or anything that requires installing an .ISO burner. I need to be able to do this with the tools that Windows XP, SP 2 native.These are laptops I'm working with and they do not have floppy drives, so I cannot use floppy disks.

Working on a Dell Latitude D530 with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pak 3; Experienced Serious Error and system had to shutdown.On restart; No Bottable Devices, Strike F1. On restart; Laptop very noisey. Probably coming from hard drive.Don't use this computer that often but contains critical information.Has not been physically abused, dropped or liquid spilled on or in it.It just crashed.

Possible To Slipstream IE7 Into Bootable CD?

Does anybody know if its possible to slipstream IE7 into and SP2 into an XP bootable CD. I suspect the genuine advantage download will make it not possible but I know its possible to install IE7 without Genuine Advantage installed. Its a lengthy workaround so figure slipstreaming impossible. I have a slipstream SP2 XP cd but it would be really useful if I could get IE7 on there as well. Don't even know if IE7 can be slipstreamed.

have a problem with trying to format my HD and start over. Problem is I don't have an actual boot disc, as my original PC started as an OEM, but have since replaced everything, even the Mother Board. I have the key still, but need an OEM windows xp home bootable disc so I can properly format my drive. I've searched and can't find anything online. I'm also restricted to making a cd only, as I'm using my laptop so Microsoft's suggestion of using floppies is not possible for me. Can anyone link me somewhere that I can download an ISO file, or anything I need to use so that I can get my computer back up and running? I appreciate anyone's help in this matter.

For example, if you own a legitimate, Authentic copy of Windows XP, but the disk becomes damaged or lost, what does one do, short of buying a retail replacement disk? The computer has "I386" folders, but none of them, nor any cabs, contain files such as filename.*

Im trying to run windows xp on the sata drive,I have installed xp via bootable disk, but when attempting to load xp a blue screen pops up and says "windows was stopped from loading to prevent damage to your system" and then following an error number with lots of zeroes and threes. I have plugged the SATA drive into another computer and was able to format, partition and add and use files from it. So theres a 70% chance its not the hardrive itself.

I'm trying to create a bootable slipstreamed CD with Windows XP SP2. I have everything extracted and the update applied to the files. Files are on the hard drive. The problem is in burning the CD.I'm using Nero 7 Ultra. I choose Boot CD and check the box to enable expert features (according to instructions: ttp://www.helpwithwindows.com/Windo...2-bootcd.html).The problem is that the box doesn't stay checked. Consequently, the CD doesn't boot. I've removed and reinstalled Nero and rebooted several times. No error messages, nothing. I have a bootable cd that contains a backup of my system state. It boots to a dos command prompt. I cannot find info on how to restore this should I need to in the future. Also, I wished to create a ERD but I have no floppy drive. Info I have found tells me to use regedt.32 (or regedit) but info on how to create, store, restore this is confusing (involves either a long bat file or refers to how to restore from within? a domain). All I wish to do is to have the cd equivilent of the ERD floppy that I can insert when asked to do so from the W2K cd. If this is not possible, I would like to know how to accomplish this using another method.
