www.myspace.com is blocked from my computer, when i type it in this is what is says... 401 The website is blocked by administrator. i know for a fact that the website didnt block me, it was my dad who blocked it from my computer, how do i get it back, or unblock it without just using a proxy server or proxy website?
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005' [dbmssocn]General network error. Check your network documentation. /Include/Database_eng.inc, line 53 how do i correct this . this occurs when i'm trying to access my streamload account to download my files . i have windows xp. i have aol9 internet service. i also use internet explorer web browser.
I run Firefox 3.0.3 under Windows XP SP2 Home. I have downloaded, a new batch of .jpg files from a trustworthy site that I have been using without any problem for a couple of years. With the latest batch of files I find that whenever I try to open any one with PaintShop Pro, I get an Open File - Security Warning asking me if I really want to open it from an unknown publisher.
If I check the file's properties, I find it is blocked. I can unblock each file individually, either by changing the property or by checking an option on the Security Warning.
I can see no reason for this happening suddenly. I have found various possible solutions proposed (but for slightly different environments or file-types), but they do not work for me. Is there any really proven solution for either preventing the blocking in the first place or removing the block en block?
i am trying tio install Windows XP Pro, the original OP/S is Win 2000, every time i put in the disc, i click on install and i get the message "This program is blocked" Then underneath that it says , "Check on line to see if solutions are available".Copuld any one tell me how to get round this problem. Thanks.
I am not sure if MS or IE or McAfee is doing this. I have been downloading a lot of files for my PSP program. I have notices in properties it is saying the file is blocked and I can unblock by clicking etc.
I don't know where this block is coming from or what limitations it is posing. I want to unblock all of them at one time.
I did for a while activate the "prompt" alternative on Favorites/Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced to block unwanted cookies. Then I blocked cookies from a site that I usually visit, marking the "always." option. The result was that I was blocked from entering the site. I then reversed all of my previous actions, letting the browser deal automatically with cookies as it saw fit (greying out all the rest of the alternatives on that window), restarted the computer and returned to the site. But all I get is a pop-up saying "You must activate cookies on your browser", at various stages, sometimes after I give the password and all, sometimes as soon as the home window comes up. I repeated all the a/m actions several times, but with the same result. I have XP with SP2, IE6, Pentium d. Any help will be appreciated - Amos.
when my computer starts up, my background changes into a blue color and im unable to chage it back, because when i rigth click and go to properties, the background chaging section is blocked and you can only pick some colors.
I am currently running the free version of ZoneAlarm so that I can use the firewall. I am getting a blocked message that indicated that the firewall blocked something that seems to be coming from my cable internet provider.
My internet connection is being blocked after roughly 15 mins, so i have to restart or disconnect to get it back, upon reconnecting another 15 mins pass and it does it again. I'm running zone alarm free firewall, avg anti virus and ad ware filter. i know i can do something with win sock but im don't know how to do it.
When i go to Documents and settings, i can see the inside of my own folder, the other administrator folder, my 12 years old limited-user folder - but not my 8-year old sister's limited-user folder! It pops up an "error" saying: Cocuments and settings/"Lisa" is not accessible. "No access"and it shows that the folder contains 0 byte. When I logg in to her account, then I can check what is inside.
Everytime I boot I get an "Administrator has prohibited access to CD/DVD DRIVES and removable storage devices" All of my USB ports and my CD are greyed out with a red circle and bar symbol. I am running XP Pro with SP3. I am the only user of this computer and I did not restrict them. I have gone in with the secret administrator account and it is also locked.
All of a sudden I can not download any programs, music files etc. I just get the above message in my Mozilla Firefox download screen. The same thing happened when I tried Internet Explorer.
I am running Windows XP and using Firefox 3.0.1. The problem is that Download blocked by Security Zone Policy, I have gone into the Internet section of control panel and reduced the zone protection to the minimum. I have turned the firewall in McAfee off. These actions did not have any effect. I am not aware of any other program on my computer that would cause this to happen. I use Sypware Doctor, but I disabled that also. My computer is set to load Windows updates automatically and that would be the only software updated I might have loaded.
For some unknown reason my anti virus will not update as it says there is no connection that it could find to update with, which I find rather suspicious. I could neither access ANY antivirus websites either. ex www.grisoft.com, www.mcafee.com, www.symantec.com.
So I done a clean install formatting my hard drive fully and starting from scratch. And to my fear I still could not access ANY antivirus sites still.
I had only installed AVG Free and Firefox. Even before I connected the net to the computer I put AVG on just to be safe and it still would not update.
I frequently visited an investment site, then suddenly I started receiving "this page cannot be displayed" messages, and down in the lower left it said Unknown zone instead of Internet when I tried to connect.. do you know which setting has been changed, or could one of my kids accidentally have blocked this site
I am using Outlook express 6 and I have a lot of e-mail addresses in my blocked sender list and I would like to delete them all. The only way I can find to delete them is one by one.how I could delete them all at once?
I have windows xp home edition with Norton antivirus protection. I got a message recently that Norton blocked an attempt to invade my pc. It was a fake site that looked like Internet Explore virus protection, and it said to start scan now. I didn't and just closed it and thought everything was fine. The next day I tried to log on and it just went back to the log on screen. It said logging off. I kept on trying and it did the same thing over and over. It was like something was blocking me logging on.
My work computer has all of a sudden stopped allowing active x to run on our system that prints our reciepts.. we get this message when it should be printing the reciept"INTERNET EXPLORER HAS BLOCKED THIS SITE FROM USING AN ACTIVEX CONTROL IN AN UNSAFE MANOR, AS A RESULT THIS PAGE MIGHT NOT DISPLAY CORRECTLY." how can i get this to go away and allow us to print our customers reciepts.. we are using XP with IE8.
Normally I reinstall windows when I run in to this problem, 9 times out of 10 caused by a virus. This time I decided to try and restore policies and get rid of the virus by hand... but I couldn't find a guide telling how to get these policies back! Has anyone created a guide or done this before? I figure if the rights can be taken away, they surely can be given back.
I'm using Win XP and, using the built in Zip feature, have zipped up 14 files that include one .exe file and one .bas file. When I try to Extract All files it extracts all except these two files. It says that the files have been blocked to protect the computer, then I can click on a link to find out how to unblock the files but the instructions to do so don't make sense. The instructions tell you to save the file, then right click/properties/unblock, but I can't see how you can save a file if it hasn't been unzipped. How can I stop the .exe and .bas files from being blocked
Is there any reason the hosts file should not block sites properly?Certain sites I have put in there aren't being blocked, and this is a problem. Also, does it only block the major site (just the www.badsite.com) and not all subdomains of that? (for example "signup.badsite.com")
Their is a website called www.hyperiums.com, its a text game. Well I was able to get on it before. But last night I could and I thought the server was down(it goes down sometimes). So I went on windows messenger, and people who play the game says it was working. So now I know its only me. When I type in www.hyperiums.com it leads to the usual "this page can not be displayed" page. Anyone know how I can fix it?
My computer won't allow me to play games, I can go to the site but if I try to click play nothing happens, also can't get through other sites I can see the background but thats it. It will not allow any activity ,only the background shows up. and I've lost the sound on you tube, and the video doesn't show up.I can see the videos but I can only read the captions along the side.
I have Windows XP and IE 7. For one particular website, I keep getting the error "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage. It is a video site where I am able to see the videos I can choose from, but as soon as I try to log on, I get the error. I was using IE 8, but switched to 7 because I thought that was my problem. I tried deleting cookies but that didn't work either. Help!
I haven't been to this site for a while and I noticed I'm getting Security Warnings that my security settings has blocked of an ActiveX install. I know how to change those settings, but am reluctant to do so. Can anyone shed some light on this. I occasionally will get similar warnings on other sites, but it is consistant on this one. Once in a while IE6 will hang up on this and I'll have to got to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of it.
clicking on the icons does nothing in order to get on the internet i go to start and click on the internet label and everything works fine when I load something from a website when the process is completed nothing happens as if there was no download.
There is a website I use at work that is a State Government database. The site will start to load but it stops. On the left side would be a menu that would load normally that is Java. It does not load so the database is unavailable. The site tells you to disable pop up blockers which i have. I had norton on the computer a while back and the only way i could get into this website then was to disable Norton. This current problem started when I loaded the AOL Security. Even with AOL security and all firewalls disabled still can not access the site. So i removed AOL security and loaded AVG and Zone Alarm in its place. Still can not get into the site with those disabled.
I got lucky here but I just can't seem to load this website! I'm probably using way too much memory because I have a myspace too. Could that be the problem?
