i had kazaa like a year ago... and in the add/remove prog list, it says i use it ocasionally (uninstalled a year ago) when i click the change/remove button, it doesn't do anything.it's been there ever since.. but i noticed that the file size installed on my computer right now (according the the add/remove prog list) says it's [12,041 mb. the last time i lookedten minutes ago) it was only 11,000-something mb.the last time before that, it was only about 300 or 400 mb
after running the anti spyware I had the same problem, lost all song files. I un- quarentined them and it did'nt help. I downloaded kazaa again and it uploaded? all my song files, great. Next day kazaa is gone, files are gone and they are not in the quarentine section. all the files are still shown in the spyware scan history, is there anyway to get them back or has anti spyware cost me years of mp3's
Tired of all the ads at the bottom of Kazaa, not to mention the ads Kazaa causes to pop up? Here is a tweak to end all Kazaa related ads. 1. With KaZaA closed navigate to C:WindowsSystem32AdCache 2. Delete all files within 'AdCache', leave the 'Temp' folder but make sure it is empty 3. Right click on the folder 'AdCache' & select properties 4. Navigate to the Security tab 5. In the group or user name box, select administrator, or the appropriate user (anyone who runs kazaa) 6. In the permissions box deny write access 7. Repeat for all necessary users and click 'OK' problem solved
In order to sucessfully remove lock KaZaA out of its AdCache as described in 'Remove Ads from KaZaA' you must first DISABLE simple file sharing in order to display the necessary security tabs. In XP Home you'll have to boot into safe mode to an administrator account.
My daughter downloaded Kazaa Thursday and I can't remove it. I get the following:C:WINDOWSTEMPADWAREINSTAFINDER_INST.EXC. Access is denied and CANNOT LOCATE C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CD_CLIENT.DLL.I want this off my computer. Please help me. She downloaded it in Spanish if that makes any difference.
I have a amd 2400 processor and i'm using windows mediacentre xp2002. I had uninstalled some programs from my system but they are still in the add-and-remove utility in the control panel. How should i remove them from there?
KaZaA, one of the most famous P2P programs tends to hog the processor, this results in the termination of the program after few seconds. This tweak can be used on systems that have the above mentioned problem. Here it is...1. Download and install KaZaA.2. Right-click on the shortcut of the program and click on "Run as...", this will prompt you to select a user to run the progam as..do not forget to select the "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity".3. Click OK and everything is back to normal..happy downloading!!Here is a final note on what I just discovered..you cannot change the options while running in the protected mode..so just run it in the normal mode, I mean the mode that hogs your CPU...change the necessary options and close down before KaZaA terminates...this should do the trick!Cheers!

I've noticed a lot of tweaks involving the removal of ads using this program. I found this version on the net that is tweaked so that the only thing you can do with it is all you ever do with it: search, download, etc.you can find this version here: http://www.refosearch.tkthis version also allows results > 128kbit
I uninstalled Cyber Scrub Professionl Suite v. 4 and it left behind a persistent devil--cybshell.dll It can be seen in Process Explorer displays hiding in explorer.exe in the startup list. I cannot see it running in Task Manager. HiJack This doesn't see it either. Yet I can't delete it. I get the usual XP admonition "Cannot deleter cybshell: Access is denied--Make sure that the disk is not write-protected or that the file is in use.
I dl kazaa a couple of yrs ago & when I uninstalled it altnet stayed behind. I tried ad-aware, spybot search & destroy, a registered version of trend micro anti-spyware & even tried going to the registry to delete. Nothing works.
KaZaA limits your searches to a bitrate, to enable higher bitrate searches, and even more results, just do this:1) Start > Run, regedit2) go to:HKEY_CURRENT _USERSoftwareKazaachange:LimitBitrate from 1 to 0
I have been looking around on computer looking for IIS for a long time and i still cant find it,I have Windows XP Home edition sp3, its not in services.msc or in the admin section of the control panel.
I do not have an "Internet Connection Sharing" section when I go into the wireless network selection properties, and then click on advanced. All that is showing up is the windows firewall. I am using a Linksys Wireless G PCI network adaptor. I am on Windows XP, professional, 2002, SP2. Someone I know has the same system, but it is the media center edition and it has the ICS section under the advanced tab... I'm not sure if the media center edition has anything to do with it or not. Am I missing a driver? Is there anything that I can do about this?
Whenever I try to get into the User Accounts section of my Windows XP, I get the following error:"Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus"I have absolutely no idea what it means, or how to go about fixing it. The account is Administrator, and I have used WindowBlinds with it in the past. I don't even know if WindowBlinds has anything to do with the problem, but it didn't start until around the point that I was using it. But it is uninstalled now, and I still get the error. There is another account on the computer, it is my sisters, and it can access the User Accounts section just fine... but it is not an Administrator account so it isn't much help for me.
I changed the BOOT.INI section of msconfig to boot windows in Safemode. Upon getting in Safemode, the computer finally recognized USB devices and the CD drive again (wasn't doing so in normal mode). So, I insert a Windows XP disc, used the Advanced install mode (the one that overwrites the previous installation of Windows), and everything seemed to be going great.
However, the machine restarts and tells me this "Windows XP Setup cannot run under Safemode. Setup will restart now." and has an OK button. I click it, thinking it's going to boot into normal mode. Well, it doesn't. It boots up again, says the same thing.I click OK.Restart.Again.OK.On and on into infinity.
I do run>MSconfig and msconfig comes up. I deselect several programs in the startup and services tabs and exit, so the window comes up saying I have to restart my computer for the changes to take effect. I click restart and the computer reboots. On my desktop comes a window about the System Configuration Utility and how some things have changed. A large section of the window is missing, so that the extreme bottom end of the window is a checkable box that says "Do not show this message again" which I select. However, this System Configuration Utility window pops up every time I boot up my computer. But when I put the computer back in normal mode, the window doesn't pop up on reboots.
I'm running a Dell Latitude D500 w/XP Pro and have installed SP. Now, everytime I boot I get this balloon that tells me my computer may be at risk. The thing is, it isn't. And if it was, I hate the balloons along with others that tell me other things. The question, how do I shut that thing off? I can't find it anywhere in the Windows Security Alert section or Security Alerts section. Does anyone of you pros know how?

This tweak alows you to search for files on the KaZaA p2p application and download them on the more stable and faster imesh server this is how it is done1. Create a new folder in My Documents called "Imesh And Kazaa"2. Open KaZaA3. Click Tools then Options4. Click on Traffic5. The where it says "Folder for downloaded file" put it in the "C:/My Documents/imesh and kazaa" folder6.
Close KaZaA7. Open Imesh8. Click on "Preferences" then "options"9. then click on "Locations"10. Then click on "Change" and make it the "imesh and kazaa" folder you created earlyer.11. Close iMeshnow to search for files on kazaa and download them on imesh this is what you have to do1. Open Kazaa2. Search for the file you want3. Start the download4. Close kazaa5. Open imesh6. then if you click on the download icon you will notice that the download is also thereSUBNOTE:

Can you tell me with this SoftwareBundler problem. I've tried everything, and it just keeps showing up on my 'Windows Defender' warning, everytime I boot up. Recently, I downloaded three P2P programes, but have now un-installed them. So it looks as though one of those P2P has caused this softwareBundler?
1.] ZD/Net and C/Net should warn readers not to use the free download s/w that claims to block ads on Kazaa. Kazaa has a system that cancels your Kazaa s/w, and has a fix to reinstall the s/w. After 3 days I'm still trying to download the s/w but it keeps hanging up in step 5. of the download process, and its driving me nuts! So beware! 2.] C/Net should make it easier to find this site.
if there is a password on kazaa lite(may work with regular version too) blocking you from anything just run regedit and go to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER SoftwarekazaaResultsFilter and any thing thing that you dont want a filter on just double click on and set the value to 0.
My boyfriend has been using BearShare & Kazaa. Now, if he opens one of those programs, minimizes it, then tries to go to the internet, he gets a blue screen. What's up? Can anyone help?? (BTW, I'm running Windows 98)
Have installed Kazaa, Imesh, Limewire and eMule. Have deleted Kazaa and iMesh, yet my Pest Control keeps telling me that I have P2P and TOPics coming up though I ran the delete several times. Do I need to worry about this or how do I get rid of it for good?? I want to keep Limewire and eMule.
I accidently imported all computer files to Kazaa instead of only my music files, now I don't have a clue how to put them all back. It literally cleared my computer right out and my system restore option dissapeared off of my files, so that idea is scratched! I slowly recovered some files but all my software downloads are going to Kazaa now!
I have performed a system recovery, all seems alright but for my Kazaa Lite 241 it wont connect, it apears to download alright the web page appears and it says connecting,I wait but nothing happens. The three programes My Kazaa Lite Theatre and My Shared Folders Seem to be highlighted and working, but the other two Seach and Traffic are not. I have down loaded hppt://download.filesharinghelp.com/details.php?=60 to conect to the link Download K-Lite Connection Fix (7.7KB) I get an error message HTTP404 Not Found

Click on the "tools" tab and than click options.3. you are now already in the user tab, uncheck "launch Kazaa automatically" and the one below it.4. And than, click OK.No need for restart
